Great video as always! Very informative! Too bad we can't trust all dealers to take the same care and diligence. We know they change the oil and top up the fluids, but who knows if they check the rest so carefully 🤷♂️.
I think a lot of this is overkill my Mazda 6 2020 service oil change, includes checking all fluids, wipers and tires for $60.00. In the U.S. they charge $1200.00 for the C-Class service A

Hello i have a cls550 2014 I am extremely frustrated, I am currently on my 5th kickstarter, when it’s changed, everything is fine for a few weeks, then suddenly, it stops working, after a few tries to start the engine, it literally that smoking. We have changed the crank sensor, kickstarter and even tried using the car without the push to start. All to no avail, it just keeps burning out. Please help
How about removing the wheels and copperslip the hubs . So the wheels will release from the hubs. You should know that alloy corrosion forms there I would not be happy with your level of service if that wasn’t done for the prices merc charges. And you get a better view of the brake assembly and pads .. not with a stick mirror. Shocking to see that.
What happens is they charge you three times what anyone else would charge for the same work. Do they pay their staff three times more? I don't think so

great vid more importantly how much was the service ? my A service and mot was £594 not bad really, but my B service, mot and brake fluid was £640, next B service will be more as other bit will need changing poss pulgs maybe👍😀
Hey Steve, kinda kicking myself for not finding out and including this in the video! My car came with the first service free. I remember my C43s first service being around £300ish, £594 sounds high but might be the extra V8 tax!

I had the first service for free with the car as part of the deal when I bought it but most people go for a service plan which costs £40 a month last time I checked for this car 👍

@@ABAUTOAMG Munich is the most expensive city in Germany, they certainly like their pound of flesh. Actually, they did replace the front wipers in that cost, just remembered. I did look at the CLA45 but it was just too low for my liking, I like to sit up a little higher, but certainly happy with this V6 😀
Hey Shin sorry for the slow reply! Try to get back to everyone but sometimes miss a few comments so I'm just having a catch up. I've done 10k miles so far, I think that translates to around 16k km.
Any car even a small 1.0 litre engine has to be serviced. Google what an engine looks like that has not had an oil change in years It’s one of the most important things to do to keep your car running well. Please don’t neglect servicing your car it will cause you way more pain and money in the long run if you don’t take proper care of it.
All this “detailed” inspection and it still won’t last 100k miles.. The ex cons at Toyota barely check anything and that car will last you well above 300k.. I will never understand why such an expensive car is so damn fragile
Hi Isaaz, here in the UK a service A is usually around £200-300 depending on the model it can vary so always best to call your local dealer to check. My CLA45s came with a free service for the first year. Generally the cost to maintain a 45s is pretty low compared to older performance cars.
Sure why not? With the volume of cars they take in it makes sense to have 2 people to work together. It means that they can get through the cars quicker but more importantly you can have a more senior tech constantly working with and training a younger less experienced one. This seems like smart business to me. Never underestimate the importance of pairing people together to train and develop staff.

We just did a bit of minor planning for safety etc and I had a few small shots I wanted to get other than that i just told the guys to carry out the service and chased them both with my camera to get as much footage possible. I was a sweaty mess after! 🥵I asked Mark to say what he was doing as he did it so so had a great reference to write the voiceover to.
Let me give you some advise guys who ever wants to buy this car just like you change engine oil the transmission oil and filter plus differential oil needs changing every 30000miles. My friend has owned one of these from new and never changed the transmission oil and filter plus differential oil . The car did not shift smoothly after 60000 miles then decided to change it with the Merc dealership. After changing the transmission oil there were metal shavings in the gearbox oil. the car gear shifts were very smooth after changing the oil . So guys please please do not buy a car where the transmission oil and filter plus differential oil has not been changed. there are nasty people out there who buy these lovely cars and do not look after them and this is exactly why they break. the M133 and M139 is a bullet proof 4 cylinder engine which has very good fuel economy if you look after it, it will last forever till you die.

Im not sure how the AMG oil differs from fully synthetic oil but oil costs aside I'd expect to pay £150 - £200 for that A service. I bet if you were paying for that it would be nearer £350 - £400 at the MB main dealer. My option would be to use a good MB specialist, Usually they get to know you and your car everytime its in.
this is the wrong oil for this car. In Germany, the 229.71 (0w-20) oil comes in the 45S.

I work at a German brand dealership and I can assure you this level of servicing is only theoretical, no one actually does all these checks to detail

I can confirm that all the Mercedes dealers I have used here in the UK send across a video health check. They call it Mercedes Star view.

I use DEX2 0w-40 in mine. I could see you using 0W-20 in Germany due to the cold weather.

Great video! I'd recommend Amsoil and Motul over the AMG oil. 100% synthetic is way better than "full" synthetics.
These ‘checks’ are primarily for up selling as all service departments have big targets to hit.

In Canada they use MB approval 229.5 oil. Usually that is 5w-40 oils.

Yeah, I am confused by the 0W-40. Also confused that it only needs to be changed every 10K miles. Mine has 8,800 miles after 8 months.
The proper oil is 229.71 0W20....MB chose this viscosity for fuel economy. I am scared to put this 229.71 in my crank case.

A CLA 118 AMS 45 has the M139 Engine. Only 0W20 is allowed by Mercedes. I dont understand how they managed to film this and screw up like that?

It really depends on the dealer. Some are much better than others. You should get a video of the health check through Mercedes Star view.
