    Good mod list. The only thing I would add is a Down-pipe. I have a 2015 and if your going to tune it and put on intake, you have to upgrade the down-pipe. It completely transforms the car.

  • @farzadkarkvandeian1613
    @farzadkarkvandeian1613 5 років тому +2

    The blow off valve does not cause an increase in performance. The car already comes with a bypass valve witch recirculates the air back into the air intake, so it already relieves the return pressure. Also the car is tuned to be able to use the air that is recirculated back. What that means is that with a blow off valve you will be running very rich in between shifts and when you release the throttle (not very ideal). The only good thing about the blow off valve is the sound, otherwise no performance advantage, it may actually decrease performance.

    • @BoostedBunny
      @BoostedBunny  5 років тому

      Farzad Karkvandeian all very true. Except from what I understand the stock bypass valve puts pressure on the turbo. With the massive increase in boost a blow off valve is needed to vent to atmosphere. An optimal valve would be adjustabke where a certain percentage recirculates and a certain percentage vents to atmosphere. That's why I swapped to a BOV vs recirculation.

    Nice videos. Been researching wheel specs lately trying to gage the best flush fit. What are your original 19" wheel specs. On the forums people are barely pushing the stock offsets 19x8.5 +45 seems to be popular.

    • @BoostedBunny
      @BoostedBunny  6 років тому

      Nonchalant1983 thanks man! And yeah they spacers work well. The stock 19s are 8 +48. With spacers, it becomes 8 +38 and sticks out less than a mm further than the 8.5 +45 so basically the same.

    I just took the Racechip gts out of my car...AMS ecu tune is WAYYYYYY better. I made 3.7s (0-60) VS 4.4 with the piggyback......

    • @BoostedBunny
      @BoostedBunny  5 років тому +5

      Interesting. The car is 4.2 stock lol. So with a piggyback should be quicker. The AMS ECU tune doesn't do much more without a downpipe. So your numbers are very intriguing. I'd love to see the data and understand the environment.

    • @Shadow-lq7rx

      3.7 with just a tune?

  • @carscene7425
    @carscene7425 3 роки тому

    I believe with the Mercedes Cla 45 it has a diverter valve when you let off all that boost gets back into the intake and when you step back on it you have boost left over so you don't have to build up as much again, you wouldn't want to get a blow off for your car if it has an diverter valve you will end up having problems

    • @BoostedBunny
      @BoostedBunny  3 роки тому

      You are correct it has a diverter valve for that purpose...so the turbo wont have to respool. However without the blow-off valve the pressure from the boost increase will be much more than intended and reduce the life of your turbo. With the BOV, it releases this pressure...downside is the turbo needs to respool, plus side is your turbo will last longer.

    • @BoostedBunny
      @BoostedBunny  3 місяці тому

      It's also puts back pressure on the turbo and when you increase the boost it raises the pressure and can damage the turbo. That's why I added the BOV...to release that pressure.

    Purchased a 2015 a while back and now looking to buy a piggyback. Seems like everything I’ve read has been positive in regards to those tunes. My only hesitation would be with any potential engine/turbo issues associated with the gains seen with the tune, so would you say it’s pretty mandatory to upgrade the intake and get a bov along with the piggyback or is the piggyback alone safe enough?

    • @BoostedBunny
      @BoostedBunny  5 років тому

      Diego Martinez there will be no issues with the engine or turbo if you do an approved tune. If you do a piggyback I would also get a BOV to extend the life of your turbo with the increased boost pressure. The intake isn't needed but my tune accounted for the intake system for more power.

    400 dollars for a foam filter that will more than likely suck in warmer air?

    • @BoostedBunny
      @BoostedBunny  2 роки тому

      It shielded from heat and can suck in more air overall. It’s always a delicate balance. More volume, less filtered (dirtier), possibly expanded (warmer) molecules vs less volume, more filtered (cleaner), possibly more compressed (colder) air. Modern day air boxes are super efficient and can’t be improved upon that much without increasing the diameter of the intake tube. But the mod is really for looks and sound.

    Mercs are not meant to be tuned. Especially with aftermarket non Mercedes-AMG parts. It’s an adultery doing this.
    When you are in the amg family, you keep it that way. If you want more power just buy a new and improved or different class. All this bogus mods are for boxer engines like Subaru and whatever.
    It’s your car you can do whatever you want, but you loose class as soon as you add aftermarket stuff.

      It’s like driving a Bond Aston Martin and pulling into a MacDonald drive way. These cars come with class and exclusivity. It’s a shame to see you lot tinker around trying to “boost horse power”...lol. Be a man, get a bigger AMG or something else.
      Like I said, it’s your vehicle and by all means, run it to the ground.
      Take a step back and see my point, hopefully you have a few synapse left.

      B N a couple things here...first you'll notice that I have a GTR and a GLC43 Coupe. Money isn't an issue. The CLA is a beast and one of my favorite AMGs (I'll be getting another) for it's short wheel base, seat capacity, AWD, and looks. From the factory the engine is detuned and specifically made to be slower/less powerful so that the pricing model makes sense for other classes. I think many petrol heads (I am one) tune and mod every car they get no matter how fast or slow. That's the fun of it. I also take my GTR and Benzs and Maserati for that matter thru McDonald's drive thrus (and Taco Bell and Wendys...love me a Frosty). Thank you for your perspective. The cool thing about cars are they are individual and we can keep em stock if we like or mod em if we like! Cheers 🍻!
