Understandably when you think about it. I'm a parent and if you think back than, girls that were 16 were going to shows having parties and getting with the band members. People in general freak out about the same thing today we just have a different set of morality than we had back than.
Glam rock started as a way to freak out parents that had the typical Christian conservatives views. Men dressing like woman was frightening to them because of homophobia. I lived across the street from a concrete bus bench that had Slayer's Christ illusion advertisment on it, within 2 days someone took a sledgehammer and destroyed the concrete bus bench.
Those guys don't have a mean bone in their body when it comes to their fans, they signed autographs in the parking lot for 4 hours after the '02 show in Atlanta at the Tabernacle. Kerry started greeting and signing first before the show, and again after. It was the original lineup with Dave that night, to everyone's surprise. I had the pleasure of shaking hands and fist bumping with Jeff, and I've never forgotten it. It took a long time for Tom to come out near the end of it because he was on a call on the tour bus for several hours. When he stepped off the bus around 4am he said, "You guys are still here?" 😅

Never got into them. The lyrics and singing never sounded great. The drums were garbage imo. The riffs, sic. All in all, overrated.
