I love how these "gameplay" tips you've provided are not only extremely helpful, but it translates really well lore wise within the world of Dune "Conceal Your Strength", "Make Careful Deals", "Be a goldfish (sandtrout?)" sounds like something that would come out of Princess Irulan's many books about the wisdom and battle strategies of Muad'Dib as he tamed Arrakis Fantastic video!
Excellent excellent video! Now that we have 7 factions, might I suggest a "Factions playstyle" as a summary video for all the factions? Like a review on how they work?
Great vid, very substantive content. One clarification; can you actually sell spice from your hoard, or are you just saying that it leaves you free to go 100% selling in the future and pay the tax from your stash? Also, is the escalating tax rate universal or based on your spice income or stockpile?
Correct you can only actively sell your income, but stockpiling allows you to pay future taxes so you can safely maximize your selling during a favorable rate. The spice tax you pay is tied to the amount of spice you are producing and it caps out at 2500 spice. It works out that making more spice is always better but it isn't the massive economic boom over rivals that you might expect. You're still in the game if you have only 2 spice fields to your rivals 4, but obviously you'd rather have the 4!
2:12 Neutral village attack the unit that triggered them. So, take a melee unit with high armor. Let it trigger a neutral village. Neutrals attack him so you don't need to run away with your ranged unit. It really helps.
10:55 this is good advice, i find myself to have ~10 factories in a game, probably more to be honest since my production is usually 200+, to snowball construction around early-mid game because there's so many things i want to build and i want them built yesterday, but i generally just keep the plascrete factories due to the 5% spice production per eco buildings in the village upgrade (honestly im not sure which one is more profitable). non spice & non plascrete bonus villages tho, yeah better tear those down and put up more labs for faster research or something else.
Very helpful :) Would love to who more about currencies and resources more in depth. Like when chaom is too expensive, right way to build influence. Etc
For most of the game, "when to expand" is as soon as possible. Push your borders out to keep your enemies from pushing your borders in. Which territories can get complicated. As a very rough guide think Spice Fields > Special Regions (good economic ones) > Rare Resources > Strategically located villages > Empty Villages
Great job getting out there on the sand! In that case though, I do have some homework for you: ua-cam.com/video/VMREzqtfH3E/v-deo.htmlsi=NQO7bEQzAUGOqktF
Man these guides are very helpful. I recently bought this game in a sale. And it's hard to learn to play. I have a specific question that you might be able to answer. (besides anyone can, wink at your viewers). Is there an easier way to trade with the sietch? because I forget to water them. Usually I get them with say -30 and after a while boom -50. T.i.A. 👍👍
Once a sietch is revealed to you, you can turn on trading with it to send 4 water for whatever they have for trade and that increases your standing with them over time. After standing hits 100, 1 faction can ally the sietch as well for addtl benes. There are some faction specific techs that increase sietch standings as well.
about the tech POI were I agree on dont take the boost if you already 99% in, I think i have noticed that sometimes it goes into another tech as well. But honestly I am not 100% sure on that.
Last I tested they did not overflow, but things get tweaked all the time so its possible its different now or even just bugged in certain circumstances.
@@daevohk i just had it last game. i picked up military and it didnt go into the military research i was researching but a random other one. but you are right dont dew it :D
What should be in game "Main Spice Silo" (with can be donated from map at missions time) with can be raided in sabotage missions. With can be used to pay imperial tax or some special units, traits or activites. If on map as a passive we can choose spice production then to gameplay should be added MSS thanks to that new sabotage mission would be avalibel and not always conquering bcs its boring sometime doing the same strategy all the time. Like always your welcome he he ehhh.
I actually find this game's economy to be very intuitive which is odd because it usually takes me a long while to get a handle on a new game's system. Definitely don't be afraid to demolish an unused building or two and rebuild later if necessary. And pay your taxes!
Great job. Your voice works well for this (ie, you don’t have an annoying voice or slow/fast talking speed, it’s just right). Also thx for not babbling, you just get to the point, and I liked that.
Though I already have 450 hours playtime since early access I still learned a bunch of new tricks! Especially the manipulation of the charters wasn't in my toolbox till now. Thx for the video!
Consider doing UA-cam shorts for real quick tips like "Setting Rally Point". Shorts are one of those things that really boost your engagement, but it's also a nice shortcut to the information. Either way, this way really helpful. Thanks!
There are usually more things to do than you have time/attention to do them. So some of this is just being aware of what you can/should do if you find yourself with that extra mental bandwidth.
nah i refunded the game after 10 hours instead. easy mode was too hard so i dipped. edit: loved the dune books, so i'll wait for the objectively more exciting game Dune: Awakening.
