Thanks for these videos, theyre great for being useful for players that understand the game generally but are trying to learn a new faction, but also hold your hand enough for a new player to understand reasonably well (but the game is complicated)

Every video I learn something! Did not know how armor and damage worked. Awesome! Your Harkonan videos have made me quite the schemer.
Generally I consider Trade ports Tech 2. Its usually among the last things necessary to research in T1 and I often have them queued right after the T2 cost reduction for orbital structures. And theyre still fairly expensive afterwards making it rather pointless to pick them up with a very early game economy.

That was a wild game, but I think Corrino & Fremen made serious mistakes letting Ecaz die. Corrino doesn't stand to gain *that* much from that special region, while Vernius stood to gain *so much* from Ecaz death. Worse, Fremen stand to gain nothing, and took no opportunity to capitalize.
Yeah I agree with that for sure. You basically never want the person across map from you to be dead and if they're dying you should surely be taking bites out of the person who is ending them at the very least.
@@daevohk I also think Vernius' lack of Eastern Airfields was to stop any kind of Imperial Command shenanigans (which is only semi-forseeable, I suppose). If it was intentional, it was a very clever play.
The AI was trying to build a deliverance engine... How silly of it.
While the Culture boost only works with orbital culture stations the +1 to influence works even with out it so it's a nice way to have more influence points

Honestly the consensus among the guys I play with is that the AI is very weak. And were some very average players with no chance in multiplayer. Also a little tip. Tec got a T2 research that reduces orbital structure cost by 25% for all 3 resources. I generally start building my trade ports after researching that.

OOoooooooo yeeeesss. Was hoping for more sins vids from you side. Also garrisons in late game are a nightmare against TEC; but you can also swap them to offensive and then you might have ~1.5k additional supply for an attack if you manage to sync up all support fleets with your own. Also a slightly bigger fan of opening with Akkan/colony cap ship. Those bonuses to colonizing/PD/trade points more than make up for the slightly lower kill speed from my point of view.
Not sure if kill speed is slightly lower. More like substantially lower and at a crucial time where development really needs to snowball. Colony logistics bonus is not as amazing as you might think either. I find it best to wait for most structure building until you get the 25% discount tech anyway. The trade port bonus is pretty nice but takes a while to get online still. The snowball effect of rapid expansion and the ability to build ships with your capital ship too really helps get a sizable fleet or two online quick
the AI is easily fooled by the amount of strikecraft you got. they dont look at army supply it seems, but at ship amount. the best way to inflate that is strikecraft and your starting ship (no need to research other ships). i was able to win against 2 impossible AI teaming up with 1 planet. all i did was tech up into military, get my army supply to 1500 and get heavy garrisons. starbase and hangars and the starbase with 3x hangar bays. 1 AI didnt even jump to my home planet and the other one got crushed by me 24/7. after saving up tons of money i just got rid of my buildings and spammed labs. 8 civil for quarnium refineries then everything into military. i was able to get to T4 military on one planet and get my 2000 army supply that way. then i just jumped to one side, got rid of 1 AI and parked half my fleet on my home planet while the other half was guarding the 2nd planet. then just build a big shipyard and the planetitem on the 2nd planet. now you have 2 planets with 250 garrisons + 1k army supply + tons of strikecraft from hangars and a starbase. which is enough to hold off an army each and get into T5, which then increases starbases to 2 and garrisons to 500. you can always send parts of your garrison out to scout if the army of the enemy is waiting there. now you can crawl forward and win.
i have been playing similar to this, i would rush orbital extraction and boom my eco from there, then build ship garrisons.
Isn't unfair too easy? Nightmare is tougher to beat.
Sure its not much of a challenge if you know whats what, but the intent of this was to show the newer or struggling players the whats.

I'm having trouble managing Civilian Structure slots, especially when trying to juggle exotic refineries, trade ports and research stations.
Q; does the day & night cycle do anything, or is it just optics?
@@hundun5604 yes, supply will decrease slower at night allowing you to travel further and Smugglers can get some nighttime combat bonuses
'Spice' is a rare resource (only available on planet Dune thanks to the sandworms). It makes interstellar travel possible. It's also a addictive drug... The Spice must flow.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but I'm having a _very_ tough time winning against Normal AI in Sins 2, while in the first game I could comfortably and consistently win against Hard AI.

Definitely get used to the UI, even you're a veteran of the first game. There's so many quality of life improvements that you might not notice. I just found out about rotating orbital structures and new fleet replenishment system. I love this because now I don't have to take my eyes off the action to replace ships.

If only my attention span was long enough that I coul
tbh the labs item is sth i usually start with when i wanna hit T3. cause then i got enough ressources for them. on top of that after getting them im reaching 15 imperial and i can upgrade them to give me 2 instead of 1. that research alone is pretty much pushing me from T3 to T5 where i can then research that they give 4 instead of 2 per item. so i basically need 7 of those items to keep both research trees at 25+. then i can get rid of all labs and build resonaters for them and push those points. dont forget you can just slam them onto your space stations. to be fair you always want those space stations, cause they can just jump with your army and give you a nice dps boost, while being so tanky that it hardly makes sense to focus it down. on top of having a 20% higher supply cap and your unique with resonance buffing your entire army.

Not sure if I agree with the Ship Item placement. You speak about the Kortul Devastator main damage coming from it's 6x Beams, but the DPS for that is only 9.7, wile the phase missile and wave cannon is 24.2 and 30. So I think you should actually improve the wave or the missile, according to your needs
Thanks for the teachable moment! The listed DPS of a weapon is for each individual weapon not the total of the weapons present. The base damage of the Devastator weapons is actually: 1x Heavy Wave Cannon 27.5dps 6x Beams 8dps 1x Heavy Phase Missile 20dps The 6x beams at 8dps each are 48 dps, more than the wave and missile put together! Hence the emphasis we place on buffing Beam damage here as a priority.
@@daevohk honest question here: what makes you think you need to multiply the DPS value per number of Beams (or any other weapon, for that matter)? I found it weird that the game would only present the DPS value per individual weapon, instead of showing the full DPS of that group of weapons.

Thank you! If you wanted to sponsor a tournament of some sort you could go a couple different ways. I'd recommend two different discord communities. I mostly lurk around Turin's discord and we organize weekly tournaments there, I'd be happy to middle man that. Or there is also the newer Dune Circuit discord that has started running the open and invitational tournys. They take community donations to a crypto wallet to pay out prize money.
Is it possible that you can't do the assasination as a Fremen? I don't get the opportunity to place infiltration cells and always have to defend myself against these dishonourable Atreides with their assassination attempts without being able to strike out myself.
