Recording saved my life in undergrad! My grades improved and I would breeze through tests as well! I plan on using this same method in grad school.

Honestly. I got an A in Biology class, I guess that was since I enjoyed it so much, and how amazing the human body worked with interaction, and all sorts of anatomy and so on. I studied the best by reviewing my notebook, playing kaboom games, flash cards, etc.. and I reviewed by talking to myself in a quiet room with no distractions. Every hour or so I would take a 15-30 minute break, and keep studying so on. Though, it was the easiest for me since I actually enjoyed studying biology
Helpful! I'm on a nursing pathway so Biology is the key! Definitely have to remember to start recording IMMEGIATELY. I doubt my bounce back game is as strong as yours.
Would you suggest biology as a major or is there any easier major for the healthcare field?

@@heartcomedy5 wouldn’t say easier per say if you’re looking to get into med school give bio chem a try a lot less memorization based and more math based which is easier for me

Glad I found this video. I took Bio at the start of my Spring 2021 term. I withdrew last week bc I was failing. I need to pass my sciences for my nursing pathway. I’m planning on retaking it later this year. I’ll def try recording.
Im taking bio 201 right now and I thinking about doing this. The semester is almost over and my grade is a 74% right now. Not the best. I really need a B and on the test I do okay. 78%-76%. I’m really struggling lol. And I’m a bio major.

This is what exactly happened to me in my history class. I had to drop it because I felt hopeless that I would get a decent grade but never an A, which I aimed for.

Question: Did you delete the voice memo after you took notes or did you take you keep all of them prior to the exam? If you did keep them all, how much storage did it take up?
Thank You so much! There is hope for me!😢. Everything you said I am doing; not doing well on my first two exams; and hanging by a thread. My studying is everywhere; reading, re-reading, videos, Podcast. But it is just leaving my memory. I made the error of typing alll my notes for my exam prep and not writing them. And also not studying my PowerPoints after the Professor reiterated the PowerPoints are good to study off of. (For all my other classes (Business Major/ the book is good., but science is a whole other ballgame for me.)
My classmates also said they study off the PowerPoints and do well.

I want to know your opinion on reading a textbook because reading a textbook is a struggle for me. I would read and take notes and it consumes too much time and I dont understand nor remember everything I read.

@@briannamowatt6540 No it’s not. One must ‘merely’ pursue a Masters or PhD. Possible professions include marine biologist, biological researcher, neuroscientist, teacher/professor, etc. Furthermore, regarding medical school applications, a major in biology overlaps with many pre-requisite classes (physics, chemistry, organic chemistry, anatomy, physiology, etc (though, you do not stand out ~ the majority of pre-meds are biology majors). Man is ephemeral, do not waste time living in fear and doubt. Have an amazing life, fellow homosapien!

How do you deal with a professor who purposely make college freshman level biology as difficult as possible and the way she balances that out (so that half of her class doesn't fail which directs the deans attention to her) is to allow her student to get half a point back for each wrong answer through test corrections and research after the exam is completed? Literally, when I spoke to her she said it is her job to discourage students from becoming biology majors because there are too many students who want to go to medical school; thus, it is her job to produce as many C students as she can. Crazy assumption on her part. Look her up at ratemyprofessor, Marta De Jesus.
If I ever run into a professor like this i will do everything in my absolute power to make sure they never “teach” again.

That’s still good
Flash cards is key to remember a lot of terms and concepts. For bigger concepts, make sure understand it and teach it to your friends or your dog. If you don’t understand it then it won’t stick.

Another way of taking notes is blind typing. It's way faster than writing and you can get really good at it over time :D definitely would recommend

That's what I do in my Geography class! Just record the lessons and I only write down title, subtitles & what teacher says in class. That's bc Teacher postes the PowerPoint online later.

My mom went back to school in the '90s and I remember the tapes and tapes she would have of lectures. Now how am I supposed to this crap online?
This is a problem I applaud those that are really smart but I don’t think it’s fair that because we’re not up to their level, the classes have to move at a speed. What the teachers need to understand is that every student learns at a different pace, some by repetition some by card notes and some by using study guides. Unfortunately not everyone is meant for school But nevertheless they still go to school to try to obtain a degree and I don’t think it’s fair that teachers don’t understand that we not all at the same education level. There are those who are current school and there are those who are good at work.

There is no such thing as best book. UA-cam’s is the key and flash cards. Make sure you are able to teach this material to your friend or else you won’t get it

She’s talking as fast as my teacher you should prob check bc your writing is slow like mine i have dysgraphia though just saying you should look into ways of writing quickly you can even shorten words tactics used by short hand writers

This was definitely helpful, I'm a pre-med student taking 18 credits. I study and do homework all day which I take notes on notability and sometimes I spend hours taking notes but when it comes to tests I get bad anxiety and forget things. Does this ever happen to anybody?..Gonna try studying using the powerpoints
