  • Is this 2-cycle fuel called SuperFuel by SuperS better than Stihl's Motomix? It's about 1/2 the price. I used it all summer in the trimmer, hand-held blower, backpack blower, and chainsaws to be able to make this comparison between SuperFuel 50:1, MotoMix, and Ethanol free gas mixed with Stihl 2-cycle oil. I run the Stihl BR800X Magnum backpack blower moving wet leaves at the cemetery as we discuss this mixed fuel for use 2-stroke machines. #superfuel #superS #motomix #purplecollarlife

@@PurpleCollarLifeChickanic is talking about the Trufuel brand stuff, not Superfuel. She also made it clear that it seems that there are some "bad batches" in circulation and not every can is going to be bad fuel.

@@PurpleCollarLife - Use the Stihl jugs that use alkylate fuel pre-mixed.
Or the Stihl grey jugs with Amsoil Saber.
It will offer the best performance, cleanest engine, best lubrication.
Stay away from these metal cans with a fancy name.
      Google : chicanic premixed fuel

I tried the Stihl moto mix one time. Never again! I find that mixing my own is the only way to go and I also add in a small amount (recommended on the can) of Sea Foam. Run that year around in all my 2 stroke engines. No issues with the carbs or the spark arrestors. I would never use that caned crap again!

Thanks for sharing! What issues did it cause in your equipment?
When you mix your own - do you use Ethanol free gas? Any Sta-Bil or anything in the winter?

Thanks for sharing! I never had trouble until about 2 years ago. I always blame the gasoline - but maybe it was something else.

The Super S does indeed sound like the better value. 👍 It's the one I'd pick! Thanks for sharing, Chad!

I put this right up there with what would our grandparents think of us buying water in cases of bottles when water is free. Spending $50 on a gallon of fuel might be more ridiculous. No offense man but I can’t believe people actually buy this stuff. Maybe for the super yuppie that don’t want to get oil on their fingers. I mean come on. We buy this stuff to save a $200-$600 piece of lawn equipment that’s easily replaceable. What are you doing for your boat motor over the winter that costs upwards of 10k? I run ethanol free in my boat and try to run it low and get a fresh tank in before winter. In my 42 years I’ve never once had a fuel issue in anything. Love the content but this fuel is just nuts to me.

You make an excellent point that I plan on covering in a future video - as far as the cost of buying 1 gallon of pre-mixed gas at a time at $20-43. To go along with your point - spending money on this canned fuel is mostly to save messing up a carburetor - which now can be replaced for about the same price as 1 gallon of the pre-mixed fuel. You've certainly got me reconsidering things. :)
With the boat - we fill it up with fresh fuel (Ethanol free) and add some Marine Sta-Bil to it. They say it's best to fill it up before winter so there's less room in the tank for condensation to accumulate along the sides of the inside of the tank. We also run RV antifreeze through the system to get the fresh water our of the impeller and pump and cooling channels of the engine. Then fog the cylinders and we're set.
Thanks for watching and offering your thoughts! We appreciate it.

That’s exactly what we do with our pontoon as well. I honestly just feel things cost so much cause we are way dumber with out money than our parents and grandparents ever were. I mean we all complain about gas prices and than someone had the idea of putting gas in a metal can in a store and slapping a $50 price tag on it. I mean if I was with some buddies around a fire and one suggested that we would all laugh but here we are and it’s flying off the shelf. I also take back my statement about never having a problem. I have one of those tiny tillers that run off a weed whacker motor. It’s a Honda and 4 stroke it sat for about 3 years and it was gummed up. I got a $17 ebay carb and it’s been fine since.
Sorry man I just don’t see the need for spending this kind of cash on fuel.

Not sold on using that pricey stuff. I use non E and add a splash of mechanic in a bottle when I fill my gas cans. I love Stihl Chainsaws but, not a fan of any gas powered weed whacker or blower.
