      Ha! I gave up, mostly on trying to fully hide wiring and plumbing, a long time ago, I blame playing before open world, on mission timelines, and not having to be there long term, plus always having to build and rebuild, time and time again. Then open world, a few base moves, and multiple expansions to my base and the constantly changing tech and additions. I still kinda hide them, but don’t try too hard anymore.

      @@dannyrothko hah, I’m getting there, too much going on, with recent additions, other game coming out/updates and a big remodel. Most of my wiring and plumbing is hidden, but hard to keep up with rapid changes/additions and building out my base to support 3 other different characters and differently styles/weapons, and building the best armor, mods for wins, tools and armor, enough resources from minerals, to farming, too
      Tier weapons and ammo, tools, upgrades for weapons and armor enough canteens and oxy bottles, food stored, cooled and ingredients, tools and materials for repairs of said armors and weapons and tools, enough fertilizer, ammo, gun powder, etc and enough power generation. Let alone types of, including bio fuels
      Production that I almost never use anymore. To ensure months and months and months of playing without need to do anything boring or annoying. I approach this game, like the only super power, I’m America, and I must fight in two major fronts, multiple minor ones. Simultaneously, without pause and only succes. In all ways, anything less is a failure. I need to work for 6 months, with no breaks and no major detractors to operations. No matter what. At a minimum. And always win. So I’m making 4 characters completely self sufficient with the best tech, at the same time, while building a concrete road that spans over 75% of Styx, great river map, in length. Woth a massive concrete and stone base. So wiring to extent had taken a low priority for the time being,

      @@dannyrothko also, just gonna say, your vids are alright, not that do anything wrong or bad, your style is not what I prefer and go for, way too edited, I watch cause it’s Icarus. And yoh make good stuff, and while heavily edited (sadly) it’s still well done, Icarus is meant for unedited gameplay and rambling, cool/crazy stuff. Ofbyih go more edited than now, which on have sadly trended towards, I will stop watching, not a threat, just the truth, if I wanted edited stuff, I’d go watch fortnight or what the new “hotness” is. So sadly, I’m close to leaving, and seems you are only interest in more and more…the lost edited content, which doesn’t fit, long form, survival gameplay.

    Really good build. It would be good to see a garden at the bottom layer. You can add some stone frames with few of the stone nodes and shrubs poking out to give a garden feel. Also you can use the fountain type water trough to give the look. You can put Moa down there as well.

    • @dannyrothko
      @dannyrothko  10 днів тому +1

      I'm thinking about what to do with that bottom layer. I also thought about maybe putting my animals there, but I think getting in and out of the base would be a bit difficult there. I might end up making a nice decorative area like a garden or fountain area to relax in.

    I am really, really loving your playthroughs. Here is basic background on your slugs you love to use. If you look carefully at the icon, they have a flat blunt end. A bullet is round and tapered at the end. You are aiming at the head of the Polar bear like it is a bullet. Once you fire the slug, it virtually starts to drop to the ground. So, you need to arch your slug by aiming higher above his head. Have you looked at the new brick that has been added to the game for low level players to use? I am having trouble figuring out how to make them. They are part of tier 3.

    • @dannyrothko
      @dannyrothko  13 днів тому +2

      That's very interesting, I wasn't aware of the bullet physics. I'll have to try aiming higher. I did check the bricks out, they have a really nice look but seem very expensive! To craft them you need to make a Advanced Masonry Bench or the Electric Masonry bench. You craft the bricks inside those benches, then can craft the walls from the bricks. You might need a water connection to craft the bricks like with clay bricks as well.

    • @dannyrothko
      @dannyrothko  10 днів тому

      The radar shows various rings with the yellow ones being in the "general direction" of an exotics vein. You can travel in the direction of the yellow ring and the closer you get to the exotics, the narrower the ring becomes pointing you in the direction of the exotics.

    Bro, I think you forgot that you could make glass with sand that you could get with a shovel- literally outside your door now.

    • @dannyrothko
      @dannyrothko  13 днів тому

      Yes that is an option but with the thousands of glass I need it would take a huge amount of time to shovel up all that sand. It's 10 sand per single piece of glass vs. 1 silica per piece of glass. They did say they're working on new shovels, so maybe a titanium shovel can make gathering sand for glass more viable & less time consuming.

    For wiring and plumbing I love using the pillar foundations, with the full ones around the edge. Lots of room for activities! @dannyrothko  14 днів тому +1

      Awesome to hear you're going to get the game! It's a lot of fun. The Base game map "Olympus" is very large and has has 60 missions. It's a great place to start and get a full experience. Styx has 27 and Prometheus currently has 14 (but they are working on a second half of that map with more missions). Keep in mind that not all missions are available in open world, the "exploration" missions for example aren't really missions and just a way to explore the map. So those aren't in open world. There are also some tools & crafting benches that can only be used in Prometheus however.
