Exploring abandoned Citadel (UK)

- The Citadel and surrounding Western Heights were a series of defenses constructed throughout the 1800s to protect the key port of Dover from an invasion across the channel by Napoleonic France. Nowadays, much of the area is abandoned or part of a local nature reserve. The keen eye will notice suspicious footpaths leading into the bushes. Following these can lead to all sorts of interesting military ruins including bunkers, ditches, batteries, and the Citadel itself. I stumbled upon some interesting casemates and batteries exploring the Western Heights one afternoon.
What was the air like in those tunnels? Was it musty or anything?
Looks like you could get lost in there!
That's really cool exploration and I'm glad it' still there to be explored.
👍
Air seemed pretty good. It's always a worry for sure. Locals explore it often enough so that gave me some courage.
@@LifeIsAdventureChannel that's good that the air was good. I guess it had enough openings to move around a bit then.
👍
Cool visit. What was crawling around that branch at 0:40 ? Top left sort of….
I think it's a leaf dangling from a spider web. If not, I don't want to know!
@ I dunno we looked a few times, seems like it curling around the branch…. Hmmm
