Sure glad Lee stayed out to sea for the most part. I still can’t believe the video you took of Estero and Sanibel, we stayed at Estero the year before that Hurricane, man what difference, so crazy.
Yes! It broke my heart too. It’s a completely different place still picking up the pieces.
I hit the Delaware beaches Saturday & Sunday. Ocean was angry. Rough surf. Rogue waves. Strong rip current. I had a blast. Found some rings, some silver, & some blingers. Ordered the Orrin book. Always appreciate the info. Thanks for sharing Merrill!
Was Just going out now watching this first lol
Hope you did well!
Very cool !! That is treasure hunting no doubt about it.
Hi Guy. Coin ridges are called reeds. Happy hunting.
Got it!!!!
Great info Merrill! Oddly enough, this time of year is when water hunting for civil war relics truly picks up. Water levels finally drop enough to make it worth it. Got out yesterday and found 3 confederate cannonballs in neck deep water! Season is winding down but a man has to make hay while the sun shines! Keep atter it.
When are you going to give another video Chris? We've missed you!
@@jerrydineen2827 Hopefully soon, just putting all the pieces of myself back together the best I can
That is a LIFE GOAL BirdDogg!!!!
@@MetalDetectingNYC Anytime you want to come down and do some exploring just holler, maybe we can stir one up
@@BirdDogg high probability I take you up on that and soon!
Thank you!
You have the most educational metal Detecting videos on UA-cam. I’ve learned so much.
Wow, thanks!
2:30 Oh you're high on the beach? hahaha!
Jonathan weve been high on the beach together many times! LOL
Just finished a morning of detecting in an 1849 California Gold Rush town. Found an old an aluminum restaurant token from the late 1800s and an old Chinese coin with a square hole in it used by the Chinese laborers. My best day yet! Still no gold or silver
Congratulations! Great find!
Yep it’s time to go metal detecting!!!
Yes indeed!
Another great, educational video. Respect from the UK😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Waaaooo...I found a 1942 wheat cent very close to that Irish beach you showed..
Youre on the wheat Tinx!!!! :)
I love watching your videos! Love the different goals Taco Bell etc.. You are very informative and educational! Bought the book you referenced. Happy Hunting.
Be careful!!! Those waves looked powerful. Great teaching, as always ❤
Good morning. Merrill great video that silver ring is nice! Keep swinging and digging my friend 👏
Thanks Willie!
I went yesterday and it was brutal , just modern coins and one brass ring , it was so sad that I didn’t bother to upload the video , maybe it was hit Friday but I doubt it , great finds buddy
Sorry to hear that Carlos!
Thanks Merrill!
Thank you!
Merrill you said, in order to get the treasure, you have to show up. Never has anyone said more true words. I am sick with mesothelioma, I don't want sympathy, i just want to let you my grammar is not up to par, And your videos are ones I love watching. Thank you for helping me through these difficult times, I love you man.
Thank you so much Harry! Praying for a recovery!
Jon Rocks at Detector Warehouse. Scoring a silver ring is better then that copper bling. Not sure what our beach up this way looks like cause as you said "Got to get out there To find the Treasure.!" Happy Hunting Gold Luck .. Peace
Great stormy detector session. Thanks for the continued tips for success. Oh, and you got pretty lucky with that sandal. We were nugget hunting on the Yuba last week and there must have been a dozen flip flops in a quarter mile of river. Not all are so lucky…
Heading to Lewes De for a few days to see what the storm has exposed
Good Luck!
Awesome hunt!! I enjoyed it and good luck to you.
Thank you!
Thank you Merrill, you know your stuff!
I appreciate that!
Thanks for sharing!!!!
My pleasure!!
Thanks again Merrill!
My pleasure!
Your video on the Maticore assembly helped me with mine big time, so thank you! Great information here as well about the beach itself. Subbed-
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much!
Great vid Merril 👍 that ring stone was flashy. May be a CZ. 💎
Yes definitely a cube!
Thanks for the lesson. Very informative. Take care.
Thanks, you too!
, Maine and cape cod , had some big surf
Yes!
Merrill, metal detecting 1969 Woodstock site! What would be there! Now, that would be awesome!!!!!
Good stuff 👍

That was fun Merrill. Gets the heart going. I’m sure some good detecting days are ahead. 👍💰
Yes indeed!
Fearless Teacher, You need dive booties. Some of the crew got them and will not wear their Italian Loafers on the beach anymore. CHOW!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge oh great and powerful merril. I’ve made many a note listening to you. You are the wizard of detection. Just want to say thank you for taking the time to help us noobies. 👍🏼😁
Wow, thank you
@@MetalDetectingNYC my pleasure merril. Do you have a recommendation for me on the usb wall charger please ?
MERRILL! I found my first gold ring last weekend! 14k! I know this video was posted almost 2 weeks ago, and I’m only commenting now, but HOLY SHIT GOLD. I am not a sushi fan, so maybe I’ll say that Ribeye is my gold achievement reward. RIBEYE HAS BEEN UNLOCKED.
Great video really enjoyed thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
If I lived closer to a real beach I’d be hitting all the time! Lol we just have a couple fresh water beaches and they are so riddled with slaw pull tabs and crap it’s unreal.
Gracias amigazo Good vídeo
You are right my friend
You have to be there to get the gold
👍
Beach a river of sand
From my own experiences, rocky beaches do not necessarily lead to good finds. This is especially true if the rocks are spread apart instead of gathered around to form a low energy zone where there's still sand left. Cuts are also never ever guaranteed to have anything. More often than not I've found cuts to be lack luster. However, cuts that form in areas where historically there has been finds, generally do better than cuts where nothing was found in normal beach conditions.
Completely blasted beaches also tend to have very little in finds. if it's low sand and scattered rocks, they tend to only have can slaw and light materials. However this can change when the beach starts replenishing itself. A little bit of sand is needed for heavier stuff to stick around, especially if there's a "U" shaped pile of rocks slowing down wave power.
Beaches where something big and heavy has obstructed the surf tend to produce interesting results. A large boulder of a rock showed up on a beach I go to, and generally I find something interesting when I check it out. You can tell the rock is obstructing and slowing down alot of wave power cause there's a gathering of shells and other debris in the area in front of the rock. Light material sure, but rings and silver coins have shown up directly in front of that rock due to it creating a lower wave power area. This gives heavier stuff a chance to stick around instead of getting washed back out by the powerful waves. This area of the beach also historically has only produced the occasional quarter and alot of can slaw, but never really anything like rings or silver coins until the rock showed up!
Changes on the beach done by human hands like bulldozed sand also has a chance of creating low wave power areas, and thus depositing alot of stuff. But the beach corrects these changes very rapidly, so if you see construction work where they're digging out pilings or ripping up the sand, it's time to check it out before it's too late.
The usual coin line and green coin/ heavy sinker rules are also good rules to follow too.
Thank You for this new video 😊😊😊.
Now I need only a beach in central Germany.... 😂
I just got interviewed on a German TV show yesterday. (Taff on ProSieben)
@@MetalDetectingNYC I know the show, did they tell you when the will show it (Date)?
@@johannesschneider8022 not sure the date but I believe it will be in the next month.
PSA, I detected on Florida beaches for about 25-30 years and storm surges will smack you down on your a$$ in a heartbeat. Be safe out there.
YEP!!!!
I've found 2 ounces of silver, a small zip lock bag amount of other coins and gold jewelry in one day in one small area when the sand washed out exposing the bedrock after a winter storm. I wonder why that spot was so concentrated.
I would guess because of the levels of the beach are gone. Everything got consolidated in the lowest level. You got there before the sand could come back.
I think Lee sanded in the FL east coast , but you got the erosion for sure. I might go hit the west side.
Good hunting💍ring master
The book I reference mentions the north west side of Florida as having highly unorthodox conditions in terms of wave height. Zero wave energy beaches where hurricane Adalia hit.
@@MetalDetectingNYC I do not doubt that and seems more like a protected little sanctuary, a little cove that's always calm. I prefer to hunt the mid /southwest side.. and get into that "depositors" area 😁
Thanks for vid
Thank you!
Thats was good ty
Thank you!
I'm heading to deleware after work tonight at midnight plan on being on the beach by 4am if all goes well .... was hoping lee made some good changes from Henlopen to Indian river inlet
I am sure it did! I had quite a day yesterday! Happy hunting!
@@MetalDetectingNYC my plans were ruined by heavy rain down in Delaware all night through this morning . It's wat happened when I try to plan ahead .
Yasssssssss LFG
Mr. Tones!
We've had a bit of a storm spell in the last few days... so, after this latest hightide, I will be out tomorrow to look at how the surge has modified the beach! Happy dayz Merrill - say high to all!
Rooting for you Vossie!
@@MetalDetectingNYC Thanks Merrill... just the push I needed... I'll be out the door in about three minutes!😁😁
Thin strip of metal looks like the spring off a dollar bill clip.
Interesting!
I did pretty good after Idela on NFM beach 2 diamond rings and some old coins (still yet to get silver) . Just won a Rutus Ultima on eBay, after watching your video on them I’m curious. I think I have a problem, I like figuring detectors out.
Looks like rogue wave one Merril zero thank you for informing.
It sure was!
How about the mudlarking, heard from adele lately??😊
You deserve it! so happy for silver! do you have a gem tester.? would love to know what gems you've found
Thank you! I just have a diamond tester and a black light.
@@MetalDetectingNYC I metal detect at Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. I 've also gotten some nice gems. I love my gem tester..Can't wait for your next video.
Wonder how the legend would have done?
It would have done great!
Lee seemed to bring the fresh orange sand up on us I was only getting tin foil and a couple of dimes :(
It was the perfect storm in that it moved sand on the beach but nobody (at least in NYC) got injured or got property damaged.
No wonder you own a Florida air B&b now look😊
Ive been using the "P" tone instead of numbered tones on my legend with decent results on the beach. Are there any positive and negative factors with that setting? i cant find much info online about it
Green objects, I found a 1969 green canadian penny at the beach ladttime I went, and it wasn't even the sea it was fresh water Georgian bay
All of my fresh water finds are more brown.
Great vid, I'm going to be on dry ground just a beginner. What is a good pinpointing stick for a fair price?
Im testing this one right now. Pretty good: amzn.to/3RrPp2m
I was of the opinion that the edges of the coin were “knurled” ? Just a thought or a question for someone to correct me on ?
I think its called reeds.
Heck yeah... 999 likes. I hit the button. Now 1k likes
Thank you!!!!

Thank you!
You know those cheap Minelab Coils that crab might snap your coil, Be Careful
LOL Phil!
Mr. Merril or anyone else here that’s Einstein level detector intellectual. So Minelab suggests a 2 amp 5 volt usb wall charger but i can’t seem to find a reputable charger with those exact specs. So my question is how critical is it to use exact specs OR does someone have a product recommendation i could use that won’t burn up my new detector ?
LOL Merrill aint Einstein level with electricity. I have been charging all of my detectors with this. (It charges multiple detectors) amzn.to/3EK6o8i
Why does every site say it’s illegal to detect in the water???
Storm loot? I was thinking Storm lute, like AC/DC thunderstruck on the mandolin. Mr crab is 00.
THUN-DER!
I just finished my trip to Florida and did about 15 hours detecting. The beach had the garbage pickers motorized. Not that much bling bling just coins got 10+ in quarters, $3 in dimes, 55 in nickels, and 60 penny's. With a coin from Costa Rica, Chile, 20c euro. Was not in the water for i did not have waterproof headphone which i will get later. i was at Trump international
good thing to scrap the sand before you metal detect and it will get trash and treasure in this. Then go back with the metal detector.
Yep definitely in the dry!
Is everything OK with you? Because no new content. 😢
Yes! My day job! School is back in session!
It seems you keep trying to lose that honey badger.
LOL sure did!
I'm so sorry bro.... Brother... When are you going to go ahead and shave your head? 😂😅😮😢😂
