I doubt the retreat would happen. The if Robert died, then that’s the end of the war. The rebels would be trapped between the Green Fork and the Mountains with nowhere to go but North and then be captured by the Freys who would side with the Targs since victory is assured. The Mad King would demand Ned’s head, but I doubt Rhaegar would let that happen.
There is some speculation that Rhaegar was going to depose his father after this battle, so I think if they had won, Rhaegar would just oust his father justifying it through the many crimes he did and become King.

Late to the video...but imo it wouldn't have made a difference...there were other Kings guards at the tridant including Baristan Selmy but none of them was guarding the prince instead he had them captaining sections of his army so its more likely that even Arthur Dayne would be else where.... IMO Rhaegar was very over confident that the prophecies protected him and his dynasty....I imagine that when Robert met him in the battlefield he must have definitely challenged Rhaegar to a 1v1 duel and Rhaegar must have accepted it.

The loyalist forces still outnumbered the rebels by 5000 men at the trident. The main reason the rebels won was because of Robert. If he died (like he does in this story), then the rebels would have buckled and retreated in my opinion anyway.
the rebels weren't like the loyalists!! they didn't have 1 leader and were battle hardered!! Ned, Jon and Hoster tully were the real brains of the rebellion!! Robert was just a warrior!! Him dying would cause little damage to the moral of most the rebel forces!! Rhaegar lives but still loses at the Trident!

Arthur Dayne DIED in a 7vs3 melee...One on which num and his 3 other kingsguard spend weeks doing NOTHING in a Tower while the oposition spend weeks treking around a far harsher temps than they're used to and barelly rested while at it. And they STILL LOST. People overestimate TOO MUCH some figures in GoT. Dayne maybe great in a 1vs1duels. But this kind of battle is NOT a 1vs1.
