Hey all. I know a lot of you dont check my twitter so I'll pin a comment here before all the WERS DA NEW VIDEYAS comments flood in. feur schutz Um... Maybe they do need to shove it down people's throats so they get that fursuits themselves aren't a fetish? I public suited for the first time a couple weeks ago at a local arts festival. It was a ton of fun, so many cute kids and a lot of fun interactions. Touchy drunk people were what we had a the most issues with but thankfully we had a good handler. It did happen where someone shoved a kid into my arms for a photo and I just gripped him for dear life, thankfully I didn't drop him but I'm never doing that again :P
I never really noticed such for myself, but mascots are kinda designed to look meaner/tougher, to kinda like intimidate the other team, or inspire the home team, etc., so it does make sense.
Im a police officer i always carry my badge so if people start messing with me they know they are picking a losing fight, im in the uk btw im know as big blue in the force which is funny cause my fursuit is blue and 99percent of them dont know.
Children are definitely a big thing to be mindful of when public suiting. And it's not just limited by age, I have had five-year olds cry just because I was in the same building as them and babies grab ahold of my hands and not let go. It's varies from child to child. Also be mindful of your claws, horns, and wings if you have em.
I had this kid shoot a paintball gun at me while I was in suit. When I took off my head and yelled at them, they looked so mortified. Gladly, the paint didn't get in my fur, but still, it hurt.... :>

Worth it to be up at 2am to catch an episode of The Bottle tbh Once I save up enough for my fursuit, I'm totally gonna go public suiting!! I'd love to see the kids reactions seeing basically a huge cartoon character walking around :)
Something I've learnt during the times I've publicly fursuited is be aware that people might do unexpected things to you! You have no idea how often I've been close to kicking a child in their head because they came over to hug me without me seeing them!
I think the general public is probably more comfortable with full suited, toony fursuit because it reminds them of mascots, wich is a concept they are more used to.
Well this is entirely random, but I wanted to just say that I have dyed my hair towards my favorite suiter! Blue with white tips and it looks amazing!!! Love you Pocari!! Huge fan so... Hai! C:
Yes.. All of my suits are toony. I am a fursuit maker, and my style is "realistic toony", such as I add airbrushing and detailed markings. My suits are often labeled as "creepy" or "scary" due to my realistic/snarly jawset style.
SO one time I was at my school and I see this suiter walking my way. They weren't alone and I assumed they were picking up some one. (I was at the parent pickup area) I was like "OMG. IT'S A REAL SUITER!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" I am dying of happiness. When they are in clear view, I see a beautiful, White canine with ping and blue accents. They look my way and I start losing it. I cant figure out what to say so I wave. THEY WAVED BACK. OMG my 12 year old mind couldn't and still can't comprehend what happened (I was not openly a furry but my closest friends knew and a few were furries too). I feel my face going red from what just happened and striked the "Cutie Patooti" pose. They walk away and my dad pulls up and I am like "CCCRRRRAAAAAPPPPP!!!!!!! AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! DID HE SEE THAT?!?!!?!?!?!?!?" He didn't and that memory is still near and dear to my heart as it was my first true interaction with a suiter in suit in REAL LIFE. I am sorry for the essay but I had to share. I love your videos and you helped introduce me to the fandom. This year I am making a partial thanks to you. I have unlimited gratitude Pocari. Thank you.
I'm in the U.S., and I forgot you are not from here.. I was really confused, because here, it's 1:00 in the morning. I was really confused why you would be uploading at 1:00 in the morning XD
Pocari! I have a strange question- When someone takes a picture of you- does the human inside of Pocari smile or not? :P Love from Hel- I mean... Arizona :3
I know this is a super old bottle episode, but I still want to throw in my public suiting experience! Last Halloween I went to a little Halloween event with some friends in my partial, realistic skulldog fursuit. My suit has golden blank eyes with no pupil, large horns, all that. I’d say she’s sufficiently spooky if you were caught off guard. But, during this event, this little girl who couldn’t be more than 3 years old came up to me and just stared at me with amazement. I crouched down to be a eye level with her and put out my paws, and she was SO happy. She just started laughing and waved to me. It was such a precious experience
Someone in partial at my local ComicCon, (which was very small, there were only two fursuiters) held a child and it made me really uncomfortable, knowing the dangers of it. I've heard of parents actually forcing fursuiters to hold kids. Also asking and leaving the suiter like a deer in the headlights, and the fursuiter holding the child even though they don't really want to. If you are someone who has met local furs in public before or go's to cons, please learn fursuiter etiquette to help make your furry friends more comfortable!
Also, just remember there is a huge diffrence between a park, and a playground. I would avoid playgrounds. Also I don't know if you are going to do another Q&A, but if so I have a question... What is a funny thing that has happened to you during fursuiting? P.S. Hello from Utah!
I think the reason people are more scared of partial is because, we all know there is a adult (usually) inside of these suits, but with them covered in fur it seems more like the fursona, more like a mascot, people trust mascots. But when people can see there body more they get a bit more uncomfortable since its more obvious, this is an adult STRANGER that you or your kids are playing with.
Some kid tried to steal my friends fursuit head off of them and run away with it but her handler tracked them down. I CANT BELIEVE THE PARENT DIDNT STOP HER CHILD
I remember a video of a guy fursuiting in public and I don't know his species, but he had a skull head. Most of his suit didn't look scary at all ,but the kids were terrified of him.
Sorry to bother you pocari, but what are you suppose to do when the parent is rushing their child toward you asking you for a picture with the child but the child does not want to be near the suit in any way at all? (this has happened to me a lot during suit outings)
Mirror the child's behavior and be equally as scared. It will either make the kid more comfy for a photo or do nothing at all. If its the latter, move away
For a first fursuit outing I recommend going somewhere around Halloween or in October, because most people won't question you, people will be super impressed by your 'costume' and most establishments will welcome you!
1.Find some friends 2.CONVERT THEM INTO FURRY 3.HAVE FUN All jokes aside it's a lot more fun when someone is with you, especially if they have a suit :3
RoseOfTheNight4444 Add 4-8" to you or someone 6' or taller. vs a 4' 6 or 7 year old. Everything is terrifying when it's paws are the size of a newborn.
Me and my friend are both younger furs and my friend is new to the fandom so in order to get into the fandom more my friend suggested we go public suiting this was very helpful thank you 😊
It's a super big responsibility if fursuiting in public with your handler . Always have somewhere where they allow you to change out of your suit and under armor. If I ever fursuit in public I would definitely be very aware of people and will always bring my handler . I would rather go to many cons many times before I feel comfortable fursuiting in public.
Im getting supplies next week i think monday to be exact? and ive always been thinking about public fursuiting even tho i will only be making the head although i want to bring it to school to show my friends and maybe surprise a few kids in the hallway but my school as a major strict dress up code meaning masks are not allowed so im kinda bummed on that one... ive always wanted a fursuit since i was 12 and guess what? construction on the head is starting next week and hopefully i get to wear it to Anthrohio 2018 i might even live stream it while im working on it
Public fursuiting can be fun, i do feel the confidence and could give it a try. But few things i am worried about. My country isnt too aware of fursuits and people are quiet defencive about, what they see. Also i am one of the first fursuiters in my country, as i know, so i dont know what people might think about me. This video did give me good and important things to think about, and also some ideas, so thank you! :)
Ive been public suiting a few times and it's ALWAYS been a blast! Went to an outdoor music fest sort of thing, that was by myself but all I wore was a head and paws lol. Went on a random day with a friend, and went to a meet to go apple picking! (that last one was a BLAST lol hay ride in fursuit = great time)
Hello, Pocari! Please read this comment! I have a raptor mask and I have been saving up for a fursuit head. My sister is very unsupportive and I don't know what to say to her. I'm the type who will get hate and sit at the end of my bed and cry. This is why I watch you. You are really cool and I love all the things you do. Love from a BIG fan❤
In Australia It's Hot As Frick. I Used To Live There Until I Moved To Germany On March Because Of My Dad. And Now I Don't Have A House And I Live In A Holiday House :/
Pocariiiiiiii!!!! My mom is my handler and she's pretty good about reminding me about a few things. When to take water, stop, unsuit, and rest. I'm only 13 and I'm about 5'6" and I wear a full digitigrade suit XD
Also, Pocari. you have inspired me to start up my own furry channel. however i wont post anything until im able to go to cons/get my suit. but still thank you for being awesome. i love your videos.
8:53 I agree, my little sister is afraid of dogs but when she sees one she LOOKS excited, but if a dog comes up to her.. weeellllllll... screaming and crying
Major problem my friend and I were going fur suiting and a child came up to my friend and her suit is a drop croch and the child whent to go to but jasmyns belly and pet her in the rong area is there a way to stop it from happening cause the kids won't stop petting her?
Okay so, I’m the town where I live in there was a 12&under party going on at the rink and my friends wanted me to bring my fursuits. So I did. The person who was running the party knows me and my mom really well and LOVES when I bring my fursuits to little party’s for the kids so it was perfect! So we got there and we went in and rushed into the washroom to put on the suits. My friend was wearing my house cat suit Harmony, and I was wearing my French Bulldog fursuit Melody. So we come out of the washroom with fluffy animal costumes on. My cousin (I gave her one of my suits so she can have it until she saves up for one) and one of my older friends walked up to us and was just like “Hey, your a fluffy animal now cool.” So they gave out glow sticks and we put them around our ears and interacted with the kids. Now here’s where the mess starts. So a girl a grade younger then us sees us. She starts going around telling the little kids we just interacted with that “Their not real animals, those are just fat bullies.” So I was pissed. So we walk up to go get some juice and go forget about it but the girl walks up behind us. She screams “KITTY!” At my friends and charges at her and bodyslams her against the wall. Im even more pissed now so I start screaming at my friend to talk of the head. My friend takes off the head and I scream at the girl to stop harassing my friend. The girl goes away glaring at us. I help my friend up and her head hurts cause they just got body slammed and “patted”. I have more stories like this XD! Oh boy the stories I have. My friend is okay and I just screamed at the girl a little cause my friend was not having it.
what if you are fursuiting at a park and somebody is walking their dog and the dog starts to chase you and think you are a giant chew toy? also what if you have a cute skulldog suit and want to interact with children? should i make a whole new suit or public suit in the skull dog? i love your videos they really inspire me and make me love the fandom that i"m in
Laura Bakker there isn't a set time, but you probably shouldn't suit for long periods of time. Bring lots of water, and if you feel like it is getting too hot, or you feel sick, take the head off!! If you pass out, the EMTs are going to cut the suit right open to get you out. Don't overwork yourself!
Omg when you said kinda crying about heads coming off, well a couple years ago I was someones handler and they were playing with some kids and when they bent down to sit the eye fell out and they started squeaking (they had a squeaker ) and the kids were so confused as the person was covering their eye squeaking in panic. Just imagine a red panda squeaking and the handler trying not to die from laughter while searching for its eye and kids just staring in confusion... I just can't it was really funny
I recently started watching your channel and I love your fur suit!!!! I was wondering who the maker was? I don't mean to sound stupid if it's a popular maker but I'm new to the fandom and your suit is so cute!!!! :)
I remember I went to a geek meet once in my partial. It's made on a DVC foam base and kids loved it(Probably because it still looked very toony). I did go in McDonald's(We seperated for food and stuff and me and my mum and a few others went McDonalds.). Its not the best place if you have a thick 3ft long tail but also not very good if kids want to say hi. They did and I was sat on the floor with them till I got my food. It's fun public suiting but CERTAINLY be sure, handlers too, to tell if someone who smashed. If they're smashed you can often tell far better.
R3F if you managed to get past the social anxiety element, you could go to a meet without a suit and try to make friends there. Then you might meet somone who could be a handler for you. I know that'd be difficult because humans but... idk My main problem is that there's nothing near me because I live in a pretty rural area. That and even if I was... I can't social either. So you're not alone in that.
R3F I also have no furry friends, and most of the furries in my state are spread out ^^; I wanna go to Gateway Furmeet but I have no one to help me through the process or stay with
I saw some public fursuiters for the first time on my vacation to Leavenworth this weekend! I wanted to go say hi, but my sister was being a grumpy Gus and wouldn't let me. ☹️ Someday I'll get to hug a fursuiter, someday....
Someone in the city I work in advertizes a music store in suit! They sometimes stand in front of our windows and wave and they seem super friendly! Shame I'm at work most of the time when they show up so I didn't get the chance to talk or take a picture with them yet...
Hey I have a question!!!! And that is I am going to go fursuiting on halloween!! I have a partial but it is toony!! I made it myself and it looks alright? I mean it's not like a professional suit like yours haha!! And my handler will most likely be my dad 😂!! And I'm afraid I'll get either furry hats or all the kids will be scared of me.... and also I will be wearing a onsie to cover up meh human! I'm kinda of nervous because I've NEVER gone public suiting!! Also there will be a lot of people and I'm not giving out candy I will be getting candy!! And I'm a sling speaker fursuiter so do I say trick or treat?? IM SUCH A NOOB IK!! And I really hope you can read pond to this!!! And maybe this could be in your Q and A vid?? 🙈🙉 if so hello from super HOTT Florida!! 👌😂
Hello! I am a noobie also, I also plan on fursuiting at halloween. first of all since its halloween people won't really judge you being a furry ( most likely they'll just think it's a costume ) as for kids being scared... I mean again its halloween, you'll probably be the least scary thing there! you'll probably look friendly compared to all the zombie goblins and ghosts. as for you speaking. try making a sign that says trick or treat so you don't have to speak. I hope this comment helps!!
Agh, I know I'm late, but for future reference for u/other ppl reading this, making a soft board or sign or something to, say, wear around your neck that says "Trick or treat"
When I was trick & treating I saw a couple of furrys. I don’t know if they where meant to be furrys. My *friends friend friend* -(don’t ask)- had a furry suit (partial)
I love suiting in public but I'm a bit iffy on doing it in my local city. Partly because I really don't have someone that would be a handler and partly cause I know the area is filled with jerks any advice in that aspect?
As she said, it's best to only go public suiting if you have a handler. All your senses are impaired in a suit, and they would need to bring brush and water and emergency repair kit for if you overheat, get fur screwed up, or your suit breaks in some way. My only advice would be a family member, or to wait awhile to get to trust someone to be your handler.
I went on a shopping trip once a few days after halloween. And I was walking round Birmingham in a skeleton onsie, which I do everytime I go there to shop with my mum. And a few times, this happens a lot with travellers from America, people come up to us and want photos with us. We don't mind it, it's really fun. Maybe when I get my fur suit, I might try it with that in a location where I'll be allowed.

Beautyofthebass is a good example for being scary literally bass scared the living hell out of my little brother he cried every time he saw her!
Haha Bass literally makes more "tame" heads to go with her bodysuit when she wants to suit for the public! She is a great case of un-scarifying a suit

It's a bit like formal wear, isn't it?
You have to take good care of it, but get very few opportunities to wear it.
please mention tail pulling, when you fursuit at a park children may mess around with your suit, how do you prevent that

Thank you.

Ya she said so in the fursuit acting episode
I went to Walmart in my fursuit partial, it was an interesting but amusing experience haha
Also, just remember there is a huge diffrence between a park, and a playground. I would avoid playgrounds.
Also I don't know if you are going to do another Q&A, but if so I have a question...
What is a funny thing that has happened to you during fursuiting?
P.S. Hello from Utah!
Extremely packed ones I would avoid yes 😂 quiet ones are okay
I'm from idaho and I don't know any furs from here. It's cool to know there are some in utah.
@@summitwirkus8563 there are quite a few here in Utah
@@18slash21 *Utah seems nice* Can you tell me a little about Utah?
I think the reason people are more scared of partial is because,
we all know there is a adult (usually) inside of these suits, but with them covered in fur it seems more like the fursona, more like a mascot, people trust mascots.
But when people can see there body more they get a bit more uncomfortable since its more obvious, this is an adult STRANGER that you or your kids are playing with.
DapperSkelington
You got a good point :) I was actually thinking the same thing xD
magic decapitation XD
Some kid tried to steal my friends fursuit head off of them and run away with it but her handler tracked them down. I CANT BELIEVE THE PARENT DIDNT STOP HER CHILD
And that kids is called stealing of corse you can go to jail if you steal to so don’t do it :D
I think people like fullsuits more because they're not used to seeing the person under the suit exposed when it comes to mascots.
For a first fursuit outing I recommend going somewhere around Halloween or in October, because most people won't question you, people will be super impressed by your 'costume' and most establishments will welcome you!
"they don't let large groups of people on the beach"
Dude wouldn't it be funny if it were a horde of fursuiters met by riot cops?

Me and my friend are both younger furs and my friend is new to the fandom so in order to get into the fandom more my friend suggested we go public suiting this was very helpful thank you 😊
It's a super big responsibility if fursuiting in public with your handler . Always have somewhere where they allow you to change out of your suit and under armor. If I ever fursuit in public I would definitely be very aware of people and will always bring my handler . I would rather go to many cons many times before I feel comfortable fursuiting in public.
Oh my goodness! That Pocari on a swing is adorable!!
Im getting supplies next week i think monday to be exact? and ive always been thinking about public fursuiting even tho i will only be making the head although i want to bring it to school to show my friends and maybe surprise a few kids in the hallway but my school as a major strict dress up code meaning masks are not allowed so im kinda bummed on that one... ive always wanted a fursuit since i was 12 and guess what? construction on the head is starting next week and hopefully i get to wear it to Anthrohio 2018 i might even live stream it while im working on it
FevirreTheWolf good luck!!

thank you so much for this vid i really needed it ^_^ i hope your family is well!
I wanna hear them all i love stories
If your handler is a stupid. Amazing quote
what if you are fursuiting at a park and somebody is walking their dog and the dog starts to chase you and think you are a giant chew toy? also what if you have a cute skulldog suit and want to interact with children? should i make a whole new suit or public suit in the skull dog? i love your videos they really inspire me and make me love the fandom that i"m in
thanks for this! I'm hopefully getting getting suit for my birthday and plan on wearing it on Halloween
is there a maximum time you can go fursuiting? I mean, can you go fursuiting for a maximum amount of time before it gets too warm or something?
Laura Bakker there isn't a set time, but you probably shouldn't suit for long periods of time. Bring lots of water, and if you feel like it is getting too hot, or you feel sick, take the head off!! If you pass out, the EMTs are going to cut the suit right open to get you out. Don't overwork yourself!
S0luti0ns it wouldn't be that good if they would cut open your suit XD (altough it would probably be necessary). thank you so much for helping me! ^w^
pastelpomme $400-$1000 down the drain.
I was actually wondering about what if you fur suit in a cold climate? Will that stop you from getting so hot or is that just an unavoidable thing?

DO NOT TAKE THE CHILD
The Pocari fursuit was made by More Fur Less
I remember I went to a geek meet once in my partial. It's made on a DVC foam base and kids loved it(Probably because it still looked very toony). I did go in McDonald's(We seperated for food and stuff and me and my mum and a few others went McDonalds.). Its not the best place if you have a thick 3ft long tail but also not very good if kids want to say hi. They did and I was sat on the floor with them till I got my food. It's fun public suiting but CERTAINLY be sure, handlers too, to tell if someone who smashed. If they're smashed you can often tell far better.

Oh wow its not just a big fluffy robot toy, it is a human robot toy underneath!
I would go to a meet but I have no much social anxiety to go out. Plus I have no friends so no handlers hmm
:3 same
R3F
if you managed to get past the social anxiety element, you could go to a meet without a suit and try to make friends there. Then you might meet somone who could be a handler for you.
I know that'd be difficult because humans but... idk
My main problem is that there's nothing near me because I live in a pretty rural area.
If there is no parks in my area, what would be good places to fursuit?
I've heard of some Walmarts allowing suiters if they call ahead of time
Someone in the city I work in advertizes a music store in suit! They sometimes stand in front of our windows and wave and they seem super friendly! Shame I'm at work most of the time when they show up so I didn't get the chance to talk or take a picture with them yet...
I'm always paranoid I won't see a kid and knock them over. hasn't happened yet though XT
Wow this video helped me understand what to do IF I'm gonna be a fursuiter!

Partly because I really don't have someone that would be a handler and partly cause I know the area is filled with jerks
any advice in that aspect?
