    WRITTEN RECIPE:
    ➜ Ingredients:
    1lb baby gai lan, washed and trimmed
    1 tsp salt
    1 tbsp neutral oil
    For the sauce:
    1 tbsp neutral oil
    3 cloves of garlic, roughly minced
    1/2 thumb of ginger, cut into matchsticks
    3 tbsp oyster sauce
    2 tbsp water
    1/2 tsp sugar
    1 tsp sesame oil
    ➜ Instructions:
    1) Bring 7 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt and 1 tbsp neutral oil
    2) Transfer gai lan into boiling water, fully submerged, and boil for 3 minutes.
    3) After 3 minutes, strain the gai lan and set aside on a plate.
    4) For the sauce: Heat 1 tbsp of oil on a pan, swirling to coat evenly. Add garlic and ginger and stir for 30 seconds. Add 3 tbsp oyster sauce and 2 tbsp of water. Stir until ingredients are well blended then add 1/2 tsp sugar and 1 tsp sesame oil. Stir until all ingredients are incorporated.
    5) Pour sauce onto gai lan and enjoy!

      My son-in-law (Portuguese) loves Gai Lan (芥蘭 or 芥兰 instead of 芥蓝) with oyster sauce very much.

    Another favourite food that I enjoy. Gai lan and yu choi sum are my favourites. As Steven said, some lap yuk with the Gail lan brings back a lot of great memories and inspiration to purchase this upcoming weekend.

    My mom used to remember that as a child , 60+ years ago that I was not a big fan of veggies. Today I love my veggies. We have gai lan, Yao Choi all the time. 1 variation I like is lap yuck on top of the gai lan. We bought some lap yuck at Costco yesterday. Of course the best lap yuck is the ones we buy in Chinatown that is made from scratch right there in the store where they sell it. Reminds me of the time we bought beef and pork jerky in New York Chinatown. Thanks again for the video.
