Thank you for sharing what products to buy I end up confused on which brand is tasty when I go to the Asian market. We are all busy people. Please continue to share. Much appreciated
We have a Super H-Mart just north of Chicago that has so much wonderful frozen food that is quick and easy to prepare. The bulk of it is Korean, but there are many other Asian cuisines available. If you have to travel to get to one similar be sure to take several insulated bags with you to ensure you get home with the food still frozen.
3:02 I've been putting my potstickers directly into the air fryer from frozen for about 10 minutes and they've come out great. I love the video. I'd like to hear more of your frozen suggestions in another video. Or just Asian food product suggestions in general. Going to an Asian market can be daunting. I'm looking forward to trying the fish balls. Subscribed!
What's up Maggie! No one can say "What's Up Guys!" better than yourself. Thank you for the shout out as I am watching your video at ~4:30am! What a great way to start the weekend! As always, a very informative and great video as always. Great recommendations on good selection of frozen foods. On a side note, I love curried fish balls, cha shau bao, cuttlefish balls, beef balls, wontons, potstickers, etc ...,. Quick and easy on busy hectic days. Thanks again, for your kindness and awesome and insightful videos and recommendations. Keep up the wonderful work as I am sure that your family are blessed to have such wonderful food prepared for them. Can't wait for your next video! 🇨🇦❤️🇺🇸😊
Love these simple vids. I’m a busy working dad and this stuff is great for the kids. Easy and quick! Love the eel in spam container idea! Keep your videos coming! - following you from Vancouver!
Great video. My wife is Korean so I get some of those. They call the pot stickers mandu if steamed or yaki mandu if fried. I noticed that some packaging was in Korean. She also uses frozen rice cakes a lot, I think in English it is tteokbokki. I also work in an area heavily influenced by Vietnamese and they have some of the same types of frozen foods such as the pork roll or Banh Bao. They also use a lot of frozen meat balls or bo vien.
Thank you for the technique on the pan-fried dumplings. I boiled my dumplings and then pan-fried them. So delicious. Thank you for recommending the brands. This is a great video!
Hi Maggie, very good video. When we celebrate with my wife’s cousin, the method of choice of cooking is da bin low or hot pot. There are many of these restaurants near us where you can cook your meat and fish balls at your table. I first encountered this type of restaurant in Hong Kong 45 years ago. Frozen is good when you want to have a quick home cooked meal at home with family. The char siu bao can be better if purchased fresh from the bakery. I like the baked bao over the steamed. Having char siu bao shows how versatile char siu is. I like to throw a couple of pieces in my won ton noodle soup to add extra flavor. I’m going to make another batch today using your recipe. I have modified your method by reducing the temperature to retain more of the fat. I always check the internal temperature to make sure it has reached a safe temperature for consumption. I have gained the reputation of being able to make a “killer” char siu by those whom I have shared with. All thanks to you. Keep up the great work and keep the videos coming, Steve
New to your channel, and thankful I came across it, I'm always looking for easy weeknight recipes and these dishes look yummy, I'll be definitely hitting up the Asian market in my area.
Am trying to learn how to cook simple meals as I have to break my cycle of fast food eating and TV dinners that's bad for my health. I found your channel accidentally and I would say "what a find" since I love Asian food. Your beautiful personality lights up your videos. I would watch a lot of your videos as I'm retired and divorced as well and I have to survive by doing my own meals as I can't afford to hire a cook😊:-) Thanks and keep those videos coming. From Arizona, USA
Wow, it recalls couples years ago when I worked in Shanghai, after hours, I always isolated myself and stay at home, so I got to fill up my freezer at all times....
Sushi restaurants pretty routinely use a toaster oven to cook prepared eel (probably frozen just like the kind you show) so you don't even need a fancy air fryer.
Have you tried adding a squeeze of unagi sauce to your unagi misubi? Also, have you tried the powdered sushi rice seasoning? I think its basically powdered vinegar with a little sweetener. Both of these will only add seconds to your prep, but add a ton of flavor.
Thanks for sharing! I try to squeeze out the excess unagi sauce from the package. I also make sushi rice seasoning with rice vinegar, salt and sugar but the powdered seasoning sounds interesting!
Hello Maggie. Thank you for sharing your favorite frozen foods. I think most likely all, but maybe the eel contains wheat? We went wheat free for health reason.
Asian market groceries and produce store on West Colonial Drive in Orlando, Florida is a huge market with a big variety of fresh seafood, exotic fruits and vegetables, baked goods, frozen foods and much more! There are yummy Japanese, Korean and Chinese prepared foods and very nice food courts: Izziban Katsu, Seoul Soon Tofu, PHO 54, Taglish. We love to shop there! Thank you for the video!
The fish tofu is super great tasting when cooked in the air fryer too, it's absolutely delightful. And your voice, I swear I've heard it somewhere before, ah..on the intercom at the airports in Asia, lol, long story short, you have such a beautiful voice.
If you're in a real hurry, place a wet paper towel on top of the steam items in the microwave and it'll keep the food soft and moist. Add a couple drops of oil in the boiling water to prevent sticking.
Ok if you ever read th ki se instant noodles and frozen chinese stuff..read the ingredients, l ki tsp of junk. Msg in them..read labels and salt content is high..
Has anyone eaten eel before? How is it? I kind of want to try but i have no clue what it tastes like or if the meat is a simple flavor or if the texture is pretty soft, etc.
@@redfuse8369 the frozen unagi is soft and topped with a flavorful sauce. Some people get turned off by tiny bones that may be found in the eel, but they aren’t noticeable to me and do not bother me. If you want, order an unagi roll or unagi sushi from a Japanese restaurant to try!

I normally don’t buy frozen food, but after watching your video, I look at them differently. Thank you again for sharing. By the way, you have a very beautiful face. Just remember, Trader Joe’s has very good frozen Shanghai soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao). You may want to try it. They come in pork and chicken. Get the pork ones, much better.

Easy & quick but definitely not healthy as they're full of carbohydrate and if you use cooking seed oil such as vegetable oils, it's even worse.

Honorable mention: scallion pancakes!

How can I control that MSG and preservatives ? They are fairly healthy ? If I had any family value , I refuse to have this.
