      If you watch a live hang you from the heavens, type in dead weather drum discussion, it's Jack white talking for most of it and it's in black and white, then they play hang you from the heavens with an alternate intro beat, and it's great to say the least, great vid as ever, can't wait to smash em out x

I admire you for your sweet groove that you always have while pulling out some of the most bad ass chops I have ever seen. Hello, Jeff My Lord Jeff you are Tremendous I truly appreciate you sharing your grooves with us. Jeff, I'm 70 years old, Old School I graduated from Berklee School of music in 83. l believe in sharing some of my greatest influences and private instructors with you and their recordings as Jeff Porcaro His Father whom I studied with in Hartford Joe Skinny Porcaro.. Here's some music of the late 60's early 70, A Band called COLD BLOOD Drummer SANDY McKEE 9real name was Cecil Stolie) the whole band Cold Blood Heres Songs you really need to check out SHOP TALK and VALDEZ in the Country You got me Hummin, After Sandy, they had Gaylord Birch a Monster drummer himself Next for grooves is MICKEY ROKER Whom I had Private study with for 2 years a great Jazz Cat The Album OLINGA with Milt Jackson check out The Steel Bender and the Metal Melter I'M NOT SO SURE a Swinging Killer song What great of the album They record two takes on each sound the first with a very fast up-tempo the 2nd a slower tempo. Listen to Mickey Roker fast syncopation even at low volume I've never heard anything with such Precision Dynamics Articulation . I've turned on other drummers to this recording every one was taken aback and breathless in his execution

  • @1viridis
    @1viridis Рік тому +1

    Wow! What a fantastic drummer!
    I'm old so my references are old as well. Can you offer examples of classic rock syncopation in addition to Led Zep? I was thinking maybe "Lucky Man" by Emerson, Lake and Palmer for one. "Walking on the Moon" by the Police. "China Cat Sunflower" (Grateful Dead.) Could think of more but my concept of syncopation may be wrong, I don't know.....

  • @sevensilverflowers

    I've been enjoying your playing and videos. I have a question not related to this particular video. I would appreciate any feedback from fellow drummers as well. When my band is rehearsing I provide solid time and feel loose while playing, but.....once we are playing a live gig I totally rush the tempo. How can I work on this? The other problem I seem to have when playing gigs is that once I get to a drum fill I tighten up just before the fill or rush and it doesn't get played as cleanly as I know it should. Any suggestions?

    • @JeffRandallDrumming
