Got 2 sub 12 pcp rifles over here. Best pellet for both of them are the H&N Baracuda FT. Never ever heard about the Johnny 7, but it looks like a fabulous piece of kit 🙂. Cheers again on another top video!
I bought a few tins of those a while back as they tested well in another video. I haven't had a chance to do a proper pellet test on the ghost yet but they're certainly on the list. Cheers. 🙂👍
Accuracy isn't simply down to the rifle barrel itself, it is also down to testing multiple pellet brands and weights and also possible power adjusting etc. There are many factors.
Also head size, i bought jsb exact 4.53mm when I first got the rifle, when I bought what I thought was the same pellets it started shooting what felt like all over the place. This is what I found at 37m 4.50mm 9.5mm 14 shot group 4.51mm 15mm 14 shot group 4.52mm 12.3mm 14 shot group 4.53mm 8.4mm 14 shot group The barrel like what it likes
Great video Jeff, its always cool on a Friday to watch a Jeff video and see what you're up to now and learn something new 👍👍 that's a nice piece of kit, I want a Ghost now 👍👍😂 I love the cheek rest and pistol grip, they were meant to go with you that day 👍👍 and wow about having 2 barrels for the gun...Thats way cool 😂😂👍👍 and you get a huge amount of shots from the bottle.. catch you on your next video.. have a great weekend..👍✌️🤟
Looking at how high the scope is over the barrel I was always told to keep the scope as close to the barrel as possible, just saying comments welcome, love your videos Jef thanks
Hear what you're saying James. One of the things with the ghost is that you have to have the scope high to get the eye alignment. If you look at the set up compared to a normal stock the cheekpiece is quite high compared to the scope mount. I've already tried to get a low scope in prep for some HFT and even with no cheekpiece fitted the scope still needs to be on high mounts.
Looking forward to the pellet testing. I have found the JSB exacts varying from 7.9-8.8gr and have to filter to keep 8.4-8.6 for hunting - the remainder for plinking. Very good pellets though and 4.52mm for AAS510.
I got a Johnny 7 for Christmas one year the red torpedo that went in the end went into the open fire on Christmas morning I was distraught 😩 I’ve had airguns ever since 👍
It must be the Daystate barrel, my .177 revere shoots Zan 13g slugs superbly. My two FX’s (wildcat and impact) and Leshiy 2 with 450 barrel shoot them like a shotgun. Love all my rifles but the revere never lets me down.
@hftshooter my m8 has just bought a Ghost topped with a Zulus nv ,he loves it ,and I look forward to having a go ,have fun with yours as well bud ,good looking rig
The Brocock website has to two different lengths stated for the Carbine, it states 633mm and 655mm. Both of which are different to the 665mm which you stated?
Got a carbine, great piece of kit. Got a Pard NV008s on it for night shooting. A bit of a lump to carry around compared to my FX Dreamline though. Probably should have bought the Plus for an extra £ 50.00. Anyone know what difference a mis-matched probe would make.
My Wolverine shoots better with the silencer attached. I think they act a bit like an air stripper. Making the pellets more stable as they exit the barrel.
Here is the strategy. You nonchalantly drive off 'somewhere' to buy the item and leave it in the car when you return. When the coast is clear you smuggle the case into your man cave. After the dust has settled you casually wander through the kitchen to shoot in the garden with said item mixed amongst known rifles. It's just like you've had it all the time! 😄
None whatsoever. Purely a stunt to show how easy it is to change barrels, plus I don't know of another air rifle you could do that with. Just a bit of fun. 🙂👍
@@hftshooter cheers fella love the channel btw the reason I ask is I saw a guy take one to bits grease it well and then put it together with loctite thread lock and it's served him good as gold and I'd rather do that than spend £450 on a legit accutac.
I didn't test it this time, but I seem to remember that when I did it was quite hot at around 11.9 ft/lb which is why the .177 power is set to around 11 ft/lb. I do intend to do some testing with reg adjustments to work out what pressure the reg needs to be for optimum performance in each calibre.
If you're comparing a sub12 ghost to a high power one, then probably not a noticeable difference. I recently shot a high power model and it was just a little louder.
I own the Leshiy, Leshiy2 and the Ghost FAC with +600mm barrel. I have the L2 with E.A.R, APEX, 250mm LW and 600MM alpha barrel. I have the Leshiy 1 with 250mm and 350mm barrel. The L2 dont match the Ghost in FPS consistency and precision - the Ghost is far superior! The L2 is fun to shoot and its build for compactnes, power and hunting. The L1 dont match either but a closer to a match than the L2. The Ghost outperforms both in precision and FPS consistency.

I had a Johnny 7. Best toy I ever had as a kid. 👍🏻
So jealous! 😂
Great gun times with that 7...
@hftshooter That purchase was a deal of the century..
@@localvetUK certainly was! 😀👍
@jeffmccall8013 I'm looking to upgrade between the FX impact mk 4 or the Ghost Plus. From what I've watched on UA-cam, the Ghost is in the lead.
Great video. That was a fast barrel change! The ghost looks like a lovely bit of kit, especially with the extra bits. Take care.
Accuracy isn't simply down to the rifle barrel itself, it is also down to testing multiple pellet brands and weights and also possible power adjusting etc. There are many factors.
I agree, but I like to keep things fairly simple and straightforward where I can and I'm aiming to help beginners and improvers. 🙂👍

Thanks mate. Remember, a little of what you fancy does you good, lol. You have a great weekend too. 🙂👍
That's to true Jeff 😂😂🤟✌️
Very interesting barrel change with a group either side of the change, not seen that before! thanks 🙂
Hi Tony, can't think why nobody had done that before. Call me a trailblazer!
Will see you at the Daystate/Brocock event no doubt. 🙂👍

That advice was before 20 MOA scope rails became the norm.

From what I've read online there seems to be so much variation between ghost barrels in what pellet they like. Should be interesting. 🙂👍

Love that video and extended rail.

So many great rifles to choose from, enjoy it! 😀👍

It's a lorra cash fer a gun, looks good though, on the Johnny seven issue my mate had one, I had the Airfix FN FAL look alike
I agree, I think a lot of new guns are overpriced. That's why I buy second hand. Didn't know airfix did a Johnny 7 clone. 🙂
Few lads at my club have em including my good mate.. Brilliant for rating and all round rifle including hft.. I prefer my steyr pro to this rife
I agree. I've never shot a Steyr though. 🙂
Nice video, thank you. 8-) NB: I always wanted a Jonny 7 too, but never got one!
Not just me then. 😄
The Brocock website has to two different lengths stated for the Carbine, it states 633mm and 655mm. Both of which are different to the 665mm which you stated?
My rifle has the prs monopod and butt plate fitted, which adds the extra length. 🙂👍

I tried using the .22 pin probe with the .177 barrel and it doesn't work; won't push the pellet in.
My Wolverine shoots better with the silencer attached. I think they act a bit like an air stripper. Making the pellets more stable as they exit the barrel.
Could be! 👍
Did the wife know, you must have used all your brownie points. LOL

What is the practical purpose of changing calibers while shooting in 5 minutes?

Have you any info on that accutac copy ie where you got it price etc.
If I remember correctly, I bought it off eBay for about £20 and set it up as per this video ua-cam.com/video/HRJx2dAsdew/v-deo.html 🙂👍

Hi what was the pellet Velocity of the .22 pellet

Yes, check out my latest video #61. 👍
Is there really that much difference with a sub 12? I couldn’t imagine that there really is.
If you're comparing a sub12 ghost to a high power one, then probably not a noticeable difference. I recently shot a high power model and it was just a little louder.
The most wanted toy i wanted as a kid was a potato gun, and the craze kicked off from there.
I had a spud gun too, and a couple of those cowboy cap guns with the little rolls of paper! 😄
Something different nice one
Thanks a lot. 🙂👍
They a great rifle ghost...up with any airrifles...
Hello, whats distance from trigget to middle of butt pad
400mm
Nice video Ghost is the best rifle I've owned. try some qys streamlined 8.48. the ghost loves em
Thanks, I'll give those a try. 🙂👍
Yep that’s what I’m using
wet nice mate . you will be showing those boys on the bench rest 🤪🤪🤪
Yeah nice but does it shoot grenades?
Unfortunately not at the moment, but I have a mate with an airsoft rifle that actually does if I need that support! 😄
Aiwaa 😘💕👍👍
🙂👍
Bang it up lol
Not sure what you mean but thanks for commenting. 👍
Never beat a Leshiy will it though
I've never shot one so I wouldn't know! 🙂
@@hftshooter what's your thoughts on the 1.5-5 x 20 Simons whitetail classic scope for modern day use
I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that brand or scope so I couldn't offer a view.
@@hftshooter Its an old scope but im hearing they are good if you just shoot 75Yards or so nice and simple

Actually very nice expensive PC p.I'll just wait 5 years and buy it for 70% less.
Fortunately, I didn't have to wait 5 years. Mine was only 6 months old and came at a very good price for the complete package I got.
British Snobbery.
Sounds like you had a good night. 😂
I have followed a while now. Dunno how anyone could get enthused aboutsuch an abomination. Looks bloody awful. Just saying. S.
😂 nothing is to everyone's taste. Different strokes for different folks! 🙂👍
Nice inexpensive cheap rifle. I have a 1/2 a dozen of those.
It's the only expensive rifle I own, but then I didn't pay full price for it! 😉
