Oh, I weep for the youth who don't get this information. I wasn't taught about sex growing up in the church and fell into the wrong crowd in college. I had sexual experiences with absolutely no Christian guidance and it ruined how I view relationships. I was made to feel like I wasn't a man because I was physically weirded out by how casually girls committed sexual acts. The way I see it, if you look at different parts of the body for their "intended use", my, or my wife's mouth, has been put there to speak scripture, to encourage others, to support, to speak words of love. As Pastor John aptly points out; oral sex is a great deal more "intimate" than say... missionary position. Scripture tells us that a man should love his wife as his own flesh. In this perspective, pleasing your wife, or visa-versa, is the most intimate communication that a married couple can express to one another. In these latter times, where greater than 50% of marriages are disolved... I would say that perhaps marital relationships could use a bit more intimacy, along with a host of other relationship-building interactions.

please consider this: Oral sex is mentioned in the Bible it falls under sodomy. Webster's dictionary defines sodomy as anal, oral sex and bestiality. It could also mean any unnatural/ non reproductive sexual act as defined by other dictionaries so that would include toys, manual sex, using the pull out method ect. Sex is for procreation, but also for pleasure. Song of songs doesn't make much mention of childbearing, but plenty about enjoying each others bodies. Considering the Bible doesn't say anything specifically about it, we can't make an explicit judgement on it. If fondling boobs is okay according to SOS, remembering that it has no correlation to making babies, then there is no good reason to assume oral is any different. I just would like to tell my testimony I went through in my life growing up as a child being molested at a young age growing up and and being involved in incest in my family members went through depression and suicidal I got into drugs and alcohol and having sex with multiple partners and doing and performing oral sex and doing things that was filthy. And doing it and being involved in it lead me down the worst path and hole I was in. And I was a shame, guilty and I didn't like myself for what has happened and what I did when I was younger I had this imagination or image or mask I put on of this world giving myself a multiple names of people and in my head I wanted to be this other race which was the word white and I didn't want to be around people of my family my own race because I blame them for what happened to me and things that I continue to do and I caused isolation and enslaved myself into this world of mine or what I wanted it to be because I didn't want to face reality. I blame my mother for having this disability I had with my leg because of it. Because I couldn't satisfy myself in sex and very low self esteem and didn't respect myself and slept with multiple partners every time anyone that left and was very disrespectful to my parents and blame them when things didn't go my way so to cover up the pain I drank did drugs and used people for my satisfaction and lust of the flesh and having 2 children in a relationship putting them in danger with men that was around and trying to protect them from the things that happened to me but I was doing the same thing and when everything was falling apart nothing was going right and really couldn't tell anyone what was going on because I didn't want them to think I was crazy or they would not understand. And I was tired of going through that over and over and I just broke down and cried out to the Lord God to help me because there was no one else to go to. And no one want to put up with me and I didn't want to put up with myself and I called upon the lord and when I prayed he came to me he was already there. He gave me love a touch that I felt like nothing before and I didn't have to pay for it I didn't have to have sex to get it and I didn't have to pretend to be someone else. He has been truth and light in my life in his word and I didn't deserve it but he didn't for me. If he had not came when he did I wouldn't be here today to tell it the things he protected and delivered me from many diseases I didn't get and keep me from so many dangers that I put myself through. I don't know all the answers and it's been a battle everyday and I thank God and praise God for all the things he has done and continue to do giving me life. My husband and I were married for twenty years before we stepped out of our "normal" routine. I have never felt more closer to him or had a stronger devotion, respect and love then when we began to explore uncharted territory together. I don't think that this is as well thought out as you think. Wasn't Judah's son slain by Jehovah for allowing his "seed" to fall to the ground because he didn't want to father a son by his brother's widow? Having a "good conscious" before God is extremely important for your walk with the Lord. The sanctification process is "line upon line and precept upon precept" and is hindered by stinking thinking. That's what carnality is and it's where our born again new life in Christ begins to change us by the "renewing of our minds!" I am not infallible so I won't pass judgement or make a decree, but I know in my own experience that the old things I once revelled in, I don't just no longer do, but the "Law of the Spirit of Life in Jesus Christ; has made me free from the law of sin and death!" and I no longer even desire to do those things and in fact I don't even "think" about doing them. To me, the very fact that you have to ask if this is okay means it's not because God doesn't author confusion and if you question it then your conscience is trying to tell you that it's not ok.

I do wanna point out the context there though- his duty was to fulfill his late brother's place as husband and to give the woman offspring. If I remember correctly, his reason for his actions was because he knew the resulting child would be considered his brother's and not his own. Therefore he had sin in that. You are the one giving the poorly thought out response.. The reason Judah’s son was supposed to procreate with his dead bother’s wife was because his brother had not produced an heir. It was an inheritance issue, not merely a matter of spilling “seed”. If he had first given the woman a male child then he could spilled his seed during a later encounter and it would not have been sin.

I am always for careful discussion and confession of issues at hand that a married christian face in his life, it's for accountability as well to make sure we are doing God's will. I agree with you it is not explicitly outrightly prohibited in the Bible but it should be handled very very carefully all in love, respect, purest thoughts and God glorifying situation in the context of Godly covenant which is marriage. This is one of the sensitive topics that christians face in the modern times but a lot of legalism for other christians that's why some avoid to talk about it. I prefer exposing it to the light in order to guide myself as well in my Christian walk. For even if you do something that seems ok such as donate money but you do it with the wrong spirit (to show off), it's bad. For example having a feast once in awhile and gorging yourself on food is not the sin and enjoying food is not the sin but if you were to do this every day then it becomes and addiction which is labeled gluttony. If you were to have a glass of wine once in awhile that would be enjoying Gods creation but if you were to drink every day that would become addiction which is labeled drunkenness. Likewise if you are married and enjoy each other thoroughly in everyway(and I do mean every way) that would be enjoying sex in the way God intended but if you were to do all those things outside marriage that would be an addiction which is labeled as sexual immorality. People just do not understand that God created many things for us to enjoy but they must be enjoyed the right way. Many legalistic men have tried to put their own restrictions on other people and continue to condemn them for not following their own made up rules about these issues. The Pharisees did this very thing.

The first thing I would like to do is simply start with the definition of the word sodomy found in Merriam-Webster. Definition of sodomy : anal or oral copulation with a member of the same or opposite sex also : copulation with an animal. Merriam- Webster definition of sodomy encompasses oral sex with a member of the same or opposite sex. So really the question shouldn't be is oral sex a sin in marriage but rather is sodomy a sin in marriage. The Bible clearly condemns inordinate affection, unnatural and degrading passions in the life of a believer regardless if married or not. (See Colossians 3:5) One of the signs of a morally corrupt society that has come under the judgment of God is that they have changed the natural use into that which is against nature. (See Romans 1:26 ) The legal definition of sodomy varies from state to state, but sodomy has been broadly defined as a sexual “crime against nature”. Though the sodomy laws in this country has been ruled unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court in 2003, historically, sodomy (usually defined as oral and anal sex) was a crime in many states. Now we can truly understand why there is so much moral degradation in this country because those who are suppose to be the salt of the earth is setting around justifying sodomizing their spouse. Oh, I weep for the youth who don't get this information. I wasn't taught about sex growing up in the church and fell into the wrong crowd in college. I had sexual experiences with absolutely no Christian guidance and it ruined how I view relationships. I was made to feel like I wasn't a man because I was physically weirded out by how casually girls committed sexual acts. Based on the definition given, sodomy involves anal or oral sex between people of the same or opposite sex; married couples as well. I blame my mother for having this disability I had with my leg because of it. Because I couldn't satisfy myself in sex and very low self esteem and didn't respect myself and slept with multiple partners every time anyone that left and was very disrespectful to my parents and blame them when things didn't go my way so to cover up the pain I drank did drugs and used people for my satisfaction and lust of the flesh and having 2 children in a relationship putting them in danger with men that was around and trying to protect them from the things that happened to me but I was doing the same thing and when everything was falling apart nothing was going right and really couldn't tell anyone what was going on because I didn't want them to think I was crazy or they would not understand. And I was tired of going through that over and over and I just broke down and cried out to the Lord God to help me because there was no one else to go to. And no one want to put up with me and I didn't want to put up with myself and I called upon the lord and when I prayed he came to me he was already there. He gave me love a touch that I felt like nothing before and I didn't have to pay for it I didn't have to have sex to get it and I didn't have to pretend to be someone else. He has been truth and light in my life in his word and I didn't deserve it but he didn't for me. If he had not came when he did I wouldn't be here today to tell it the things he protected and delivered me from many diseases I didn't get and keep me from so many dangers that I put myself through. I don't know all the answers and it's been a battle everyday and I thank God and praise God for all the things he has done and continue to do giving me life. Receiving love compassion kindness forgiveness and to asked and believe you do receive and for his only begotten son he became sin for are sin that knew no sin and the blood that was shed on the cross and the death crucifixion and the resurrection of Christ Jesus and for God to give him all the glory for what he has done to give us life. The definition of sodomy according to Merriam-Webster is anal or oral copulation with a member of the same or opposite sex also: copulation with an animal. Based on the definition given, sodomy involves anal or oral sex between people of the same or opposite sex; married couples as well. If the definition for sodomy is accurate, there may be millions in the Christian community, pastors, church leaders, missionaries, literally practicing sodomy. This gets even worse because anyone who is committing sodomy by practicing anal or oral sex is a sodomite!

I don't think that this is as well thought out as you think. Wasn't Judah's son slain by Jehovah for allowing his "seed" to fall to the ground because he didn't want to father a son by his brother's widow? I am not infallible so I won't pass judgement or make a decree, but I know in my own experience that the old things I once revelled in, I don't just no longer do, but the "Law of the Spirit of Life in Jesus Christ; has made me free from the law of sin and death!" and I no longer even desire to do those things and in fact I don't even "think" about doing them. To me, the very fact that you have to ask if this is okay means it's not because God doesn't author confusion and if you question it then your conscience is trying to tell you that it's not ok.

You are the one giving the poorly thought out response.. The reason Judah’s son was supposed to procreate with his dead bother’s wife was because his brother had not produced an heir. It was an inheritance issue, not merely a matter of spilling “seed”. If he had first given the woman a male child then he could spilled his seed during a later encounter and it would not have been sin.

I am always for careful discussion and confession of issues at hand that a married christian face in his life, it's for accountability as well to make sure we are doing God's will. I agree with you it is not explicitly outrightly prohibited in the Bible but it should be handled very very carefully all in love, respect, purest thoughts and God glorifying situation in the context of Godly covenant which is marriage. This is one of the sensitive topics that christians face in the modern times but a lot of legalism for other christians that's why some avoid to talk about it. I prefer exposing it to the light in order to guide myself as well in my Christian walk. For even if you do something that seems ok such as donate money but you do it with the wrong spirit (to show off), it's bad. However lesbians can not have anal sex... They only have oral sex (as well as other unnatural sexual acts but for the sake of the discussion I'll just stick to oral sex) So if oral sex is okay then what exactly is wrong with lesbianism? Why can't two lesbians who are married to each other have oral sex but we Christians can? That's also hypocritical. Either oral sex is allowed for both lesbian and heterosexual couples or it's not allowed for both lesbian and heterosexual couples.

Sodomy and perversion is not allowed within marriage. Webster's dictionary defines sodomy as anal, oral sex and bestiality. It could also mean any unnatural/ non reproductive sexual act as defined by other dictionaries so that would include toys, manual sex, using the pull out method ect. The first thing I would like to do is simply start with the definition of the word sodomy found in Merriam-Webster.
Definition of sodomy
: anal or oral copulation with a member of the same or opposite sex also : copulation with an animal.
Merriam- Webster definition of sodomy encompasses oral sex with a member of the same or opposite sex. So really the question shouldn't be is oral sex a sin in marriage but rather is sodomy a sin in marriage. The Bible clearly condemns inordinate affection, unnatural and degrading passions in the life of a believer regardless if married or not. (See Colossians 3:5)
One of the signs of a morally corrupt society that has come under the judgment of God is that they have changed the natural use into that which is against nature. (See Romans 1:26 )
The legal definition of sodomy varies from state to state, but sodomy has been broadly defined as a sexual “crime against nature”. Though the sodomy laws in this country has been ruled unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court in 2003, historically, sodomy (usually defined as oral and anal sex) was a crime in many states. Now we can truly understand why there is so much moral degradation in this country because those who are suppose to be the salt of the earth is setting around justifying sodomizing their spouse.
I don't believe that we really understand how destructive this kind of support of sodomy in the marriage is. For example the marriage is suppose to be a reflection of Christ and the church and we are commanded to love our wives as Christ love the church. Is there anyone so morally corrupt that they would even suggest that oral sex or sodomy is something to be identified with Christ and the church. (See Ephesians 5:25-33)
The homosexuals look in the bible and see the relationship with David and Jonathan and identify it as a homosexual relationship. Now we have believers who are practicing oral sex or sodomy and they look at the book of Solomon and guess what they are seeing oral sex. "Unto the pure all things are pure; but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." Titus 1:15,16
Therefore, missionary style is the only allowed sexual practice? You have a very poor knowledge of women. If you would really love your wife, you would not condemn oral sex, which is for many women the only practice that satisfies them.
