- I had a lesson for my Youth Group on sexual purity and I heard this sermon by John Piper, I wanted to feature it in my lesson, so I threw this video together with the help of Windows Movie Maker.

The Ten Words of Counsel Regarding Sexual Purity for Single People:
First, do not seek regular sexual gratification through masturbation.
Second, do not seek sexual satisfaction through touching or being touched by another person, even if you stop short of sexual intercourse.
Third, avoid unnecessary sexual stimulation.
Fourth, when the stimulation comes and the desire starts to rise, perform a very conscious act of transfer onto Christ.
Fifth, pray that God would give you, in ever-increasing strength, a longing to know and love and obey him above all else.
Sixth, bathe your mind in God's Word.
Seventh, keep yourself busy, and when it is time for leisure, choose things that are pure, lovely, gracious, excellent, worthy of praise (Philippians 4:8).
Eighth, don't spend too much time alone.
Ninth, strive to think of all people, especially people of the opposite sex, in relation to eternity.
Finally, resolve to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and he will add to you everything you need sexually.
staying pure is really tough not only physically but in mind but I know God is with me
Why don't Churches talk about this more? I have been a Christian since I was a child, but I have never heard this before. Young people need to hear these things before this becomes a problem for them.

What is sooo sad, is that this was "1981" when he said the church was doing a bad job of teaching/talking about sex, AND in "2017 it is STILL NO BETTER! It takes a truly bold, compassionate, and free person to dive head first into real life topics..Father, send forth more anointed, and confident teachers to address the topics everyone else is afraid of🙏
I am blessed to be single and retired. I can do anything I want. I have an audio Bible and play it in my house 24/7. I never know when God will reveal something to me. I keep learning more and more all the time. I have been doing it for a few years now and I know my Bible better than people who have PHDs. I would suggest it to anyone who loves the Word of God like I do.

Human sexuality would work much better if people got married much, much earlier. That is a biological reality which Western culture suppresses with terrible results. I do NOT know how to fix the difference between the many years between when biology is screaming for sex, and when society makes it possible for people to be financially independent to marry. All I can say is that marriage came MUCH earlier in the past, and there were fewer problems.
Prayer, reading the Bible, listening to great sermons online, listen to hymns, repeat.

The other topic which goes usually with sexual temptation is porn addiction.
I am having an urge at the moment and I am looking for something for me to escape from this temptation.
Thank you for this video. Sexual sin has separated me from the one I love, now I am trying to pick up the pieces and in faith I pray that God may one day restore us.
There was a woman that once has told me and my friends just one thing that has really helped me to understand the importance of guarding your sexuality when being single and what God does think about sex in general. She said something like: Of everything that is vulnerable and capable to get broken easily God is laying a protection around it to keep it safe. And sex is one of the most vulnerable things possible inbetween the interaction of human beings. Just look at all the hurt people have to suffer because of sexual abuse, there is nothing comparable to it on this earth! Therefore, because its very important to him and because he wants it to be protected, God laid marriage to surround all of sexual behavior as a place where it should not be harmed, so that all of its benefits could be lived in love and godly peace.
I wished I received this counsel 20+ yrs ago. Unfortunately I speak from experience and the devastation of sex outside of marriage (promiscuity) in my life that created utter havoc. The damage it did when I was single and when I was married (which led to divorce) was unbelievable. I would be more candid but this is not the place to be as such. All I can say is that when I get the opportunity to speak with young adults about this, I testify to them my experiences and how important it is to stay away from this lifestyle. I am now 41 celibate and loving it, my relationship with christ has never been better.
As a young man in high school this is very important. Thank you.
