Shoutout to the cameraman who captured these images. You are a brave man and definitely earned your paycheck.
But how did they film this? Amazing, isnt it
@@jceasar5685 little hint: somebody had to put on a scuba diving set
Animation.
It isn't animation. There's a whole documentary about how they filmed blue planet. Insane, the budget must have been just enourmous!
@@jceasar5685 I imagine they were inside of a flexglass divebox or something like that. No one would ever get in the water unprotected around great whites feeding on a whale carcass. The producer would never allow for that liability. So 100% there is some form of barrier between the cameraman and the shark.
Another possibility is that they are using cameras on extension poles, and the cameraman is actually on a boat, 20ft or so away from the actual scene being filmed. Sorta like a massive selfie stick.
"This one might not have eaten in 2 months"

I get it! A hungry shark!
3:46 That's a killer shot! It's like the blue shark's doing her own version of "walking away from an explosion", but underwater. ❤🦈
These stories and shows will never be the same again if David was to ever pass.
His voice is so soothing I could watch these all day long ☺️

I know and have read many times that sharks use their jaws like a saw to cut flesh. But this is perhaps one of the few videos where you can clearly see how it works mechanically. It's really a hacksaw.
Especially when you see those teeth acting on whale blubber, could be atleast three or four times tougher than human muscle
That's why puny humans don't even survive many exploratory bites 😢
shaking, tenderizing - down you go
I love the voice from David Attenborough ❤
*David Attenborough's voice is indeed captivating and has become synonymous with nature documentaries. His soothing, authoritative tone draws us into the story, making complex scientific concepts accessible and engaging. His passion for the natural world is palpable in his narration, stirring a similar feeling in the audience.*
I love watching ocean videos. it's mysterious and dangerous
And much safer than being in the ocean
Who finds the deep ocean scarier than space? 😬….
We know more about the moon than we do the ocean. It’s natural to be afraid of it ;w;
I think Space Sharks are scarier
The ocean abyss is deep, not endless; outer space on the other hand . . .
Deep ocean is quite relaxing to me tho😂
Well, considering in the ocean there are an enormous variety of terrifying animals that can kill you without you even being able to see them, and space is mostly empty to the point that you'd most likely die of old age before encountering any other life forms, I think it's a pretty logical thing to be more afraid of the ocean than outer space
I left a dorian yates motivational speech to watch this. I had a feeling it was going to be awesome
A logical progression if you ask me.
Did you find it worthy?
good choice
Yeah....I usually put this stuff in watch later but it seemed too temping not to watch immediately
Sounds Jewish
The nature is so impressive
*Absolutely, nature's vastness and diversity never cease to amaze. From the tiniest microorganisms to the largest mammals, from serene landscapes to violent storms, nature is a constant source of awe and wonder. Wow 2 months without eating? That shark must have a lot of hobbies
*Indeed, it's astounding to think about the survival adaptations of sharks! Their ability to go long periods without eating is a testament to their evolutionary success. While they may not have hobbies in the human sense, their time is filled with activities essential to their survival, like hunting, migrating, and possibly socializing.*
That was a complete guess for sensationalism
I want some of that blubber

As magnificent as it is to watch this whole event , the one thing that stood out that no one seems to have given heed to - “struck by a ship”. Ships are not part of the natural cycle and another huge flaw in the human terror machine .
It's amazing to me the number of shark species there are. I never heard of a Blue Shark until this video.
Since I was a kid, I can watch stuff like this for hours. I still remember purposefully looking at the show "Wild Kingdom", with Marlin Perkins, every week.
my grandfather was an author and one of his books is about different species of sharks called “Album of Sharks “ by thomas McGowen . i recommend checking it out
Everybody gangsta till great white shark shows up. Lol
till orcas comes
They have freedom in oceans. Beautiful
Meanwhile humans get hangry when they don't eat for a few hours lol
Sharks are grate animals!
BBC Earth is what's keeping me on UA-cam
How would we have known all this marine life info without the relentless work of biologists, the fearless courage of photographers, and the advancement of technology! And praise the Lord for His marvelous creation. Amazing work!
Not to forget the talented narrator .
*Absolutely! The combined effort of dedicated biologists, brave photographers, and advanced technology has indeed unlocked a wealth of knowledge about marine life. Their work not only educates us but also allows us to appreciate the splendor and complexity of God's creation.*
lol @ deity credits. 🤦♂
I love great whites.
Sea creatures are more mysterious than land creatures. Need more research and exploration.
BBC Earth is doing well 👍👍🌹🌹
The blue shark is one of my favourite shark species.
*This is a striking representation of the circle of life in marine ecosystems. Sharks, as apex predators, play a vital role in maintaining the health of the oceans. Feasting on a whale offers significant sustenance, supporting shark populations. While it can appear harsh, it's an essential part of natural processes.*
RamRam q
What role does the shark play? Pretty sure the body of the whale would eventually sink and get eaten by other sea animals
What's natural about a whale dying because of a ship?
Killer whiles/orcas are apex predators of the sea. They kill and eat sharks.
@@CGRealStudios Sharks prevent overpopulation of other animals, just like wolves prevent overpopulation of rabbits etc.
Read up what apex predator means for the ecosystem and then come back.
Humanity has no apex predators, and we expand as collective (as
opposed to solitary predators like sharks). Look and behold, overpopulation of unprecedented proportions for mammals.
Do you even have remote understanding of how ecosystem works?
"A dead whale" By natural causes ?
No! "Struck by a ship"
Very good human.

Keep Yourself Safe
So basically the blue shark lives on a strict Keto and intermittent fasting diet.
It takes guts to film all this

Imagine not doing a god damn thing for 2 months, then being like... let's eat again.
I'm sad about the whale being struck by a ship and dying.
That’s the real KILLER shot 2:29
Blue Sharks. One of the few shark species that actively hunt in packs, matched by Hound Sharks, Silky Sharks, and only outclassed by Great Hammerheads

Man, I could never be a shark. I find the shots of the lone shark surrounded by the featureless, uniform depth of the ocean to be extremely unsettling and uncomfortable. The shark is lucky to not be able to either fathom this human fear, or having evolved to not pick up on it. 😮
I'm pretty sure it's a very old video, i had watched it years ago, and I liked it very much.
Dear BBC, please put your documentary series on UA-cam. I'm willing to pay if I have to
They have some on this channel for free, if you go to their home page and the section "videos over 10 minutes" they have full documentaries there. Unfortunately not every single episode is up but there are plenty there to keep you enthralled for hours. 🌍🦘🦓🦛🦒🦔🐐🦍🦎🦐🦌🐅🐃🦂❤

They bring us closer to understanding different ecosystems, their inhabitants, and the delicate balance that exists within them.*
Those camera shots from divers?
I mean I suppose they would focus on the whale meat and not touch you but that definitely takes guts if that's the sake.

GREAT JOB SUCH CLEAR FOOTAGE OF MARINE LIFE
Spectacular videography and as usual awesome voice over.
Imagine you had to eat pizza entirely inside water.
It feels like everything must taste so diluted to fish being in water all the time.
amazing
The cojones of the diver recording a shark on full meat shreading mode is beyond me lol
In the deep they are also special sharks who eat the rest. They even need to eat less than the blue sharks cause of the cold there.

Eating as a fish is so much of a deception. Imagine every time you eat you have to swallow a whole gallon of water
This is so stupid on so many levels.
Do you not breathe air when you eat something?
Oh no. Look at these weird monkeys. Imagine how they swallow AIR when they feed. Must be so wild - fish reaction.
Fish breathe water. To them drinking it is no different than to usebreathing air when munching on something.
I wonder if someone actually dived into the water to take these shots...
These people are crazy...
Sharks actually don’t prioritize humans.
Also, those “piranhas that have eaten cow carcass in a minute” were intentionally contaminated and starved by locals to show them to the US president and create that fable of “river monsters”.
In reality, you can swim even with sharks and piranhas and almost never have problems.
In actuality, most animals just mind their own business and humans are of a much lower interest to them than they are to us.
Anything that is starving with attack anything else. Hell, when humans are starving, the resorted to cannibalism as well. Sharks are no different.
Gelungenes Video. Gruss Jürgen 🤠
2:32 that whale felt pain , but that shark felt some as well look his tooth is broke off
Very interesting video
In the mid ocean, unlike school of sardines, to spot & to dispose of requires some specifically adapted traits. A nice dinner table suitable for sharks. Perhaps, orcas could participate in it. Clearly visible bite mark, big chunk of meat ripped off, indicate how effective their feeding apparatus on an occasion like this. At first, one by one, then the member of dinner club increases. Seemingly, they're of good table manner. More than enough volume, no need to waste energy. A curious scene (how the staff spotted?).
I wonder if they come back or follow the carcass, staying close. Unlike terrestrial carnivores, they keep swimming away for another opportunity perhaps ..?
genius
Shout out to the filters

Blåhaj my beloved ❤
How often does a Great Whale stumble into a whale like this? It doesn’t make sense this is a huge part of their diet.
great video ❤
So, if its true that shark have to move constantly to breathe, then they can’t eat a meal calmly can they? They probably have to as shown in this video, rip a meat chunk off so agressively that there moving enough to breathe. Or does eating work differently?
Recently struck by a ship? How do you know BBC?
What whale is that

Looks like a grey whale
Baleen by the looks of it.
I find nature, both scary and beautiful as it relies on a balance, yet it shows that sharks playing important role in the ocean, keeping the oceans, clean and eating that will cause is an example of that
Was the cameraman in the water while filming this? :u
