I agree with your final thoughts. I’ll probably return mine and wait for the next iteration, but for now I think this cake isn’t fully baked. But it’s a great start. Back to my Kindle PW SE.
I have an older Kobo and I’ve noticed the lag when using epub files. The best way to deal with this is to convert it to kepub (you can do this with calibre and a plugin). For me the lag was completely gone after that 😉
@@sheri_reads No, I had no problem using the plug-in. I would suggest reinstalling calibre (you can keep you library so you don't lose your books and metadata).
I have definitely the same complaints! The highlight doesn’t always work and the page turns slow….very glitchy like you said hopefully it will get fixed in a software update!
Yes, I’m reading Shadowhunters too! I’m reading it in the order that Clare recommends, so I’ve read the first three books of TMI series and the red scrolls of magic. I loooooved the first three books of the TMD. I’m reading Clockwork Angel now and finding it sooo boring. I hope the infernal devices gets better. I’m reading on a Scribe now. This new Kobo is so tempting.
I’ve had a Kobo before, but prefer the screen quality of the Kindle. Maybe I had a dud idk. I hope Kindle comes out with a color ereader. I think I prefer the kindle ecosystem, but a color ereader??? Omg, yeah I’d be down to switching. Amazon stopped selling the Oasis in the U.S., so I wonder if they’re going to refresh it with color 🤨🤔
@@qetsiyah1766 ooooo that sounds like such an interesting order! I still need to read the 6th MI book haha I’m so behind! My friend has zoomed past me haha
@@qetsiyah1766 oooo what?! I didn’t know they stopped selling the Oasis! I did not like the oasis hahaha I like the color on the kobo but I almost wish I had the one that was the same sq size as my kindle. I LOVE my kindle honestly and don’t enjoy reading as much on my kobo honestly
I made Reddit post concerning the highlights problem and figure out that’s it was because my books were not in kepub format. Now it’s seamlessly and faster
Sadly no. You can only connect one library on the device itself but you can definitely send books you’ve checked out from other libraries by downloading the EPUb file from Libby (on your desktop), putting it on Adobe Digital Editions, and then transferring to your Kobo! It’s a multiple step process but once you’ve done it a couple times it feels easier
Haha that’s exactly right! So many more steps than just the one click it takes to get a book from Libby to your kindle through Amazon. I read a book I purchased on the Kobo recently and the reading experience was so much better!

Oooo thank you for the suggestion. I’ve tried to use a plug in on caliber and the program crashes every time. Do you know a fix for that?

@@sheri_readscheck which version of the plugin you’re using. It wouldn’t work for me until I tried v10.0.3
This. Kebubify is a game changer!
I appreciate your honest review
So I just got my device and have the same problem of not being able to highlight across pages!! Can you please share how you did it?
Yes, you can add the time via calibre, I have my kobo as well..and mine is not slow but mine is black…👀
I google drive transferred most of my books
I’ve gotta figure out how to put the time! Thank you for the tip!

Yes! i hate to say this but I'm glad it wasn't just me! I really thought I got a defective product :[

Oh dear. I was thinking of getting a kobo, but that may be a deal breaker for me. I’m connected to 5 different library systems in my Libby.
Thanks for the video!
Gonna damage that screen. Need the Sleep Cover. They're great, IMO.
I finally got a case!!
This seems like it has a bunch of steps you have to do in order to read books vs Amazon is just a click 😩… but I still want one 😬

As someone who has seen every season of RPDR, it literally doesn't matter the order unless you want to know context of some of the jokes they make lol
Also, I have that same issue with the highlighting from one page to the next on my kindle. Idk why that's so difficult on ereaders
