they really wanna become nasu by doing "i didnt really say it out loud it could be, but i also didnt reject it either" Dein already say it like many times that we are a pair of Abyssal Twins. even Ashikai if you watch her video also told this many times, so its really no suprise either we born from abyss of having 100% match with abysal power. the problem is how corelation this abyssal power with teyvat. because seems there is many type and manifestasion that source from abyss but not this kind of 'abyssal' bullshit such as Forbidden Knowledge, or that Neo Human Project Reine Learn in fontain. I dunno man my head hurst, i will wait other lore crafter explain it in more easy word to digest
diluc compares traveler purifying dvalin's tear to filtering wine when filtering wine you need to routinely clean/maintain the equipment as sediment can build up traveler left sediment in the bottom of albedo's potion they drank from and the prerequisite for albedo's story quest is only prologue act 2, the act where they purify the tear 🤔
I think Forbidden knowledge is more like a memetic virus rather than actual energy. And another theory for the traveller using the ability less is because they absorb the energy instead of banishing it from the subject, thus possibly giving them the same potential as their sibling
I recently revisited nahida 2nd story quest,in which the fire seed that nahida had,it had a glowing fire inside it. She says that the energy from the fire seed is so similar to hers but also really different. We use it to purge the abyssal blob inside chasm. And the moment the seed shell breaks, that fire inside the seed perishes. Now my point is, could that fire thing be phlogiston? We all know that phlogiston is culmination of all elemental energies and it also won't work outside natlan.
I realy love the lore hoyo is dropping for the traveler, it made realise that most of the time they use swordsmanship to fight, and rarely use the elements beacuse is a power they are not familiar with, their original power is verry diferent and they had mastered it long before arriving in teyvat, besides that the traveler only uses "the tip of the iceberg" of the elemental energy presicely because they dont know how to use it fully.
guess that make sense why the elements sucks, people with visons dedicate to that element, to those abilities we see them use ingame through years or atleast as all they have not only is Traveler a master of none, they barely adjust to it before switching to another
To be fair, elemental energy seems similar enough to whatever the hell they were using before. Also, even when they had their original powers, they barely used them like you'd see some actual vision bearers use them. For example, they probably could've lasted longer in the fight with the Unknown God if they fought long range, but used a sword instead. So, they're either drunk all the time or somehow not used to it DESPITE having seemingly gained an understanding of how to use elemental energy (which is probably similar to their OG powers) on the spot (even Paimon mentioned it at some point). Just a few observations.
@@zoologyenthusiast i've had a pretty confirmed theory for a while that their original power, which I like to call "Light" (its very glowy in the first cutscene with asmoday) is a result of all 7 Teyvat elements combined together. liyue aq supports this and the tcg dice thing does also, where the triangle thingy is what represents it, as I believe. what is also important is that symbol is also imbued on paimon's outfit
@@yep1486Traveler is a MASTER of everything! Traveler used elements a lot before the Inazuma Archon quest. Hoyo is just too lazy to make him use them all the time. It's all a marketing ploy, just like losing to Arlecchino. Traveler is a master of everything! Especially in combat, in clearing the Abyss. He defeated all his opponents, he had no defeats, except for Arlecchino. Don't listen to CatwithBlueHat. He is a FRAUD. Or you too. You Traveler haters (Fatui or Archon Cocksuckers) are so delusional it's funny. I won't be surprised if Traveler easily defeats the next strong opponent and you open your mouths. Do I need to remind you that it was Neuvilette who needed Traveler's help to defeat Narwhal? He told him so himself before the fight. Take off your rose-colored glasses, glazers!!! Or should I remind you how Ei was barely breathing from the battle with the rift hounds, then the traveler helped her defeat them in her personal quest. Nahida said that the Traveler is better as a fighter. Nahida was never strong in battle. That's why the Traveler defeated Scaramouche on his own! You yourself are missing the details!!! Yae Miko tells her that she lost. "You lost, EI". How long will you continue to glaze your losers? The Traveler defeated Ei thanks to physical strength. Because he is an alien, a descender. The power of the Archons is a trifle compared to heavenly beings!!!! At the end of the journey, the twins must defeat that goddess. Because no one else can compare to her!! Neither your pink Archons, nor your pathetic Fatui! The Traveler saved everyone! Although he does not have to!!!
Oh another more of "they don't use elements because they are not familiar with" bro literally they are in 4 years in this planet and literally no reason to not make him using elements except hoyo needs to glazing the banner characters
It's important to remember that even King Irmin predicted that Khaenri'ah was FATED to fall and everything will be comsumed by the Abyss. However, there's no mention of HOW the kingdom will fall. I don't think the Traveller nor their sibling's abilities are capable to purfiy as they think, but rather overwrites their own Light energy against the Abyss thus causing something akin to an Anihilation reaction and maybe that's what caused the whole catalyst that leads towards its destruction.
@@Greennaris_RaterThe Primordial Sea and Phlogiston aren't opposites though. Yeah, one is like water and the other is akin to fire, but they are compatible still, which is why Egeria's oceanid familiar could be turned into semi-humans to begin with.
@@th0r0shvener52 Yeah but the issue remains, the Amrita is made of Egeria's remains which is Primordial Sea Water, and Simurgh's remains which are made of Dendro, which is derived from Phlogiston... So Primordial Sea and Phlogiston are on the "same side" so to say. The comment I replied to used them as if they were opposites.
I always thought he actually just absorbed the abyssal energy as one the other siblings as able to wield it and two I confirmed it at Natlan where it looked like he was absorbing it
@@lostforever773 because most people use aether as the main and even hoyo mostly use aether and because ´he´ is a neutral pronoun used in most languages kinda obvious why they say it dummie
I dont believe the traveller knows about their own ability to "absorb" the abyss energy at all (but could have known before their memories were erased), But it's quite possible that the travellers ability to absorb and use energy of all sorts could be there, which is why we gain abilities from the statues. The traveller and their sibling could be just strong energy absorbers and invokers of that stored energy. Phogiston itself is a very strong abyssal reverser, all elemental energy on teyvat also counters it to a lesser extent. Our walking around teyvat they could have been absorbing energy all that time in small amounts (just not knowing how to invoke it). We know the abyssal twin was walking around teyvat for a lot longer than the traveller who was "asleep" for almost 500 years somewhere. Then theres also the possibility these "batteries" are what the 3rd descender was which is why the gnosis (like a battery also) was made from their remains. There may well be a fight with the sibling where they try and absorb the stored energy out of each other for their own ends. Forbidden knowledge DOES feel like something different than abyssal energy, it feels more like foreign computer code running in the program of "teyvat"
> Our walking around teyvat they could have been absorbing energy all that time in small amounts (just not knowing how to invoke it). I'm pretty sure that's what Original Resin is, as it's stated directly in the game that "Original Resin gradually replenishes by absorbing elemental energy from the natural environment." And then we go ahead and use that resin to revitalize the petrified trees and blossoms of Irminsul. Maybe it's possible that this function of original resin is an extension of the traveler's abyssal purification/absorption abilities? It's not exactly clear whether it's unique to the traveler or a thing anyone with a Vision can do, although with all the recurring motifs of the traveler purifying everything wherever they go in Teyvat, I'm willing to say it's probably the former.
one thing i came to realize now is about Capitano, he mentions that his curse still deteriorates the body and it is the same or very simillar to the one Dainsleif has. Dain's travell time with the abyss sibling may be the reason why he mantains his face and strength since he can purify the abyss remains on him, making the time fighting post-cataclism less bad while Capitano stays a good amount of time fighting in Natlan, facing constantly abyss corruption without any cleanse. Thats should be the reason or one of the reasons why he begins to succumb to Ronova's curse.
I think the curse does not deteriorate the body, as much as the body naturally is just not able to sustain all its regulatory processes for hundreds of years. Ronova can specifically decide how or when somebody would die, here the afflicted individuals just do not die of age. Also, Dain has visually exhibited powers different from those of Capitano, so that could be way he is a bit better.
I always thought that if Traveller was really "purifying", they would be expelling something instead of absorbing the abyssal energy directly. When I see the traveller absorbing it, it always reminds me of the first time we saw our abyssal sibling's sword imbued or overflowing with abyssal energy.
honestly the more you think about it, the more it makes sense why the sustainer didnt out right kill us at the beggining, its all so that we can either tame, or completly destroy the abyss, my quess would be the reason for the 2 siblings being seperated is mostly so that 1 can rule the abyss and one can ascend to the celestial throne, and probably at by the end only 1 side can stay alive
in the teyvat interlude trailer, dainsleif said that "the throne in the sky is not reserved for you" which directly parallels with traveler's description. there may be some gimmick here
0:41 after watching this, i feel like the primordial human project lines up with the wings lore. albedo was probably made in the image of the twins, or is in some way based off of a related group, depending on the timeline of his creation. albedo mentions the traveler’s composition being similar to his own. the twins can also absorb abyssal energy, however, that is what resulted in the cataclysm. i think this def links to albedo being some sort of threat, especially in relation to concepts like corruption. just some food for thought.
Really cool summary of some of the traveler lore! The first inconsistency that came to my mind when the traveler starts using this power again in Natlan is that during the interaction with Scaramouche in Inazuma and, to a lesser extent, when on their way to purify Irminsul with Nahida, the traveler is affected by abyssal power (forbidden knowledge and god remains) and doesn't feel well. I don't know why this happens if they are apparently immune, unless these two cases, and maybe more that i can't think of, include some powers that are abyss adjacent and not pure abyss itself. I would love to hear if you have any thoughts on that! Love all your content!
I believe Tatarigami is different from Abyss because Orobashi wasn't corrupted by Abyss when he was slain. God's/archon remains are something else entirely.
Aren't god remains just access godly anger and wrath. N the video already claims (stretches) that forbidden knowledge isn't abyssal in nature, it came from the abyss. Like a sponge can't soak up kelp from water.
Tataragami is not exactly abyssal in nature. It's a god's hatred and lingering anger which produces a lot of negative stuff. Kinda like the angry version of what the god of salt released upon death.
It makes sense now why the traveler is capable of getting the Powers of the seven. Their are like sponges capable to absorb powers, and once our protagonist collects the seven elements, he/she will gain the power of light, the counterpart of the abyss. However, I always believed that our traveler has a personal agenda, they're not even a hero, they have their own goals. Only both of them know the real name of the other, and also, in 2.7 Chasm event, our traveler say something interesting: "The abyss ... It's always bad news. The purpose of this journey is to find you. I will keep going, and imagine a better tomorrow with you. ... Okay. I have to get everyone out of here. I'll find a way to survive this ... Then find the lost treasure. "
This is still not right, sure Traveler has his own goal but that doesn't change the fact Traveler do care for other, seeing how he treat nahida in her birthday and other major event. Also mihoyo intentionally want to make both sibling adventure different,Lumine adventure was full of despair but Aether has paimon and other which make the journey fun. Traveler is actually humble and don't consider himself as hero as seen by some dialogue eventhough he is
i'm assuming traveler had some backstory that made them care for people very much, especially their sibling. take it as some sort of Lyney story (where his sister nearly got 🍇 and he became overprotective of it) but on a grander scald
I do personally think the Travellers might be more closely related to the Narwhal than it first appears, so purification actually being absorbsion makes sense
We know that abyssal energy is hard for the humans and have similar symptoms to radiation poisoning which we saw what happened with muani mom died because of your guested abyssal powers it’s the equivalent of radiation poisoning
Also there is a hole in this theory, the doctor in Natlan, chacas sister confirmed traveler has no abyss energy in him ,so does that make sense? Because he legit "absorb" abyss energy twice before meeting her, this can only mean Traveler do in fact purified the Abyss, otherwise the energy should have been in traveler
i feel as though the cause of the cataclysm 500 years ago was because the traveller failed to absorb all the abyssal powers or was disrupted by someone/something and is why it spread everywhere. At the same time, maybe because the sibling absorbed some of the abyss powers, it disrupted the balance of the 3 realms.
Well, we have seen it many times. Traveler getting power-up from powerful supernatural forces, like Archons, the Adepti, or just 100 Visions, and not even sneezing from that. Traveler certainly is capable of handling absurd amounts of energy. The big question is, does he metabolize abyssal power at a steady rate, or does it accumulate, potentially turning them evil?
@@kotarouinugami1745 that's always been one of my biggest questions in regards to the Abyss sibling. Presumably, according to that world quest in the desert the Sibling has been inside/in close proximity to massive amounts of abyssal energy for centuries now, so how has that affected them?
Hmm, the musings of the Canotila starts to give the meaning. Remember her short quest, when we entered together strange domain, got separated and ending in desolate world void of all life - “even the mint and sweetflower" while Canotila said she was in beautiful garden.
"There will come a time when someone will have to purify them." Is this what Dainsleif meant when he said "Show me that you are worthier than I to 'rescue her'." in the Travail trailer?
Pretty much the Traveler has not had any need to cleanse/absorb Abyssal energy themselves until Natlan where they had to directly intervene since Natlan is fighting against the Abyss in its' purest form. As you mentioned, all the other times during World Quests and in Archon Quests, there were alternative means of dealing with the corruptive substance but of course nearly every instance comes with a price of cleansing the Abyss in any form ranging from the Aranara forgetting the friends they had previously made, Kitsune Saiguu who was part of the filth that plagued Inazuma dissipated, and Greater Lord Rukkhadevata had to be forever forgotten by everyone of Teyvat to cleanse Irminsul of Forbidden Knowledge. The Abyss sibling absorbed unlimited Abyss during the cataclysm could explain how they had a dark purple aura coming from their sword during their most recent confrontation with Dainslef and for now we can assume the Traveler is only somewhat aware of the nature of their ability and even when they use it they aren't able to absorb abyssal corrosion from people who have been affected by a long time. The Abyssal energy would have to go somewhere eventually and it begs the question is the Abyss sibling aware of it and whether the Abyss within them is beginning to affect them.
@@Yammerzaki123fr I saw a comment talking about the last cutscene during the story quest that introduced Albedo. The part where Albedo had the Traveler drink something and when the Traveler left, Albedo sees solidified purple residue in the bottle. I didn't think much of it back then but could that be solidified Abyssal corrosion that the Traveler had absorbed up to that point which isn't a lot but it is within the Traveler.
1:18 - The Traveler remember about Khaenri'ah because he already went there, but he never got to know about the place called "Sea of flowers in the end". The Abyss twin stated that she knew this place in the end of her journey, not in the time when they were in Khaenri'ah together, there's no contradiction there. 3:05 - He can not puriry forbidden knowledge because it's other form of Irminsul energy manifested, the form of memories, the same way the dark mud of the Chasm is another one, but he don't seems to understand this yet... and, he is not able, at least until now, to deal with such abstract things like memories and dreams. Also, purify means destroy the abyssal energy, and forbidden knowledge is the abyssal thing itself, it's not a thing corrupted, the knowledge itself is the problem, is the knowledge what people shouldn't be able to know. So, even if he was able to mess with memories, he will just delete the knowledge just like Rukkhdevatta did. 5:48 - The abyss twin isn't a descender and NEVER was, she don't have "Descender powers" because she isn't one and never was. In 3.2 patch, Nahida, a person who have NEVER heard about the Descenders concept, ASSUMED it means a person who came from other world, but it was her GUESS, and she was WRONG. We learn later with Narzissenkreuz that not everyone who came outside of Teyvat is a Descender, and There's only one Descender per Samsara cycle, the actual one, Khraun-Arya, is the Traveler... other person from outside of Teyvat are just regular Outlanders, and the abyss twin is one of them. Saying the Traveler lied about his powers implies he understand how it works and choose to say a lie, but he clearly don't understand. It's not himself who describes what happened, it's the other people who tell him he purified Dvalin tear and he believes it. Plus, there's no confirmation that the twins have the exact same powers. One name means light while the other means void, one had it's powers sealed and the other didn't... they have parallels and opositions at the same time, they could easily have oposite powers. We must also consider that the Traveler is a descender and the twin is not, his "abyss purifying" powers might be related to that fact, not his particular ability, but a descender one.
The abyss sibling indeed is likely not to have been a descender at all, because if I remember correctly, there was a mention about a descender being someone that can change fate itself (at least in the context of Teyvat). Throughout our journey, we get clues about our sibling going through the same (or very similar) journey in the past (they even mention the journey, although not that it had the same major events), but in all of those cases the abyss twin only delayed catastrophies (the withering may be where "the golden nara" in the past was mentioned the most, but the same reference was made in other major quests). It was a heroic deed, but the problem comes back later in our present (the next samsara cycle?), while our traveler have put an end to these once and for all, showing the clear difference between an outlander and a descender. That said, there was a note about the abyss sibling appearing out of nowhere in Khaenri'ah according to irminsoul (where descenders are not recorded, which is probably related to them being able to change fate which they're not a part of to begin with), which could either be when the sibling arrived first in Teyvat, or it could also be where they have fallen from their descender status. It could be possible for the sibling to fall, as there is still one unknown descender, and one "dead". Either of those could be a past version of the abyss sibling, and "dead", and leaving some remains could also mean the loss of a higher kind of existence or power, although these are the second and third ones, and the gnosis are the remains of the 3rd, which should be way older than 500 years when the sibling appeared, which should mean that it could not be the result of anything that happened then, although from Raiden's story we know that time can flow weirdly, so the 2nd or 3rd descender could technically still be the abyss twin even if unlikely.
They don't need to use that purifying power since they don't have any Abyssal threat that needs to be handled asap. The other regions are too safe compared to Natlan.
With the fact that they have traveled through so many worlds, it is not surprising to say that the traveler possesses many special powers and perhaps some of them are very dangerous, so perhaps that is why they hide them Or there could be other reasons, but this is just a hypothesis anyway. Traveler's Lore is getting bigger
I was just thinking the SAME EXACT THING !! The word “purified” never seemed right to me , and now with the Xbox wings coming out it all makes sense , they aren’t purifying it but instead absorbing it …I think this will have MAJOR implications later on , maybe even towards the end of the natlan archon quest !! Tbh that might be why Marvin’s wants the traveler to come along , she’s going to have him absorb the abyss which could set up an “explosion” of sorts towards the end of snezhnaya mirroring the abyss twins start of the cataclysm in Khaenri’ah🤔they are one in the same after all !! Maybe even mirror versions of each other , it says they traveled together “between worlds” and that could also be bc they are really both from different worlds and just happened to meet in the spaces in-between which makes them not siblings but actually the same person from different “timelines” since we know from the Makoto/Ei quest that timelines (idk if this is the word I want to use) are “intertwined” in a sense
I came up with a similar theory- in Natlan’s newest Archon Quest, we helped a couple of people who had went insane/mentally ill because of the abyss attack. After helping these people, you get an achievement called “Small steps” (or “a small step”, I’m not quite sure)- this could also mean that our sibling is, as you said, infected with the abyss, what we tried with the mentally ill people may be a small form of “practice” or “prep” for when we have to “cure” our sibling- and maybe our sibling is in a sick state of delusion that they were manipulated into believing by the abyss, and we’ll have to snap them out of their delusion when we meet them again.
we also used a ward to cleanse the miasmic tumor on the sacred sakura cleansing quest. while interestingly Hanachirusato never called the tumor as abyssal product, but rather called it as the filth. in fact, she didn't know what is the Abyss. then she explained how the filth accumulation could bring sickness, pain, and evil to the land. she also compared the practices in order to remove such defilement like Adepti to Liyue.
thanks for making this theory and comprehendible, I think the abyss twin absorbing so much abyss that they don't qualify as a descender anymore makes total sense! I had never thought of that before
the lore : traveler have absolutely no idea what the hell is happening to every shit doing weird things after they touched those shit most of the time and simply assumed that their power is about changing some shit to another shit theorists : "TRAVELER LIED"
After reading "Tequil the Brave" I wondered whether the Abyss sibling had to die to completely resolve the Teyvat's Abyssal problems! 😢 Or it'd be great if we can have the happy ending, as both twins survive.
Thank you for pointing out something that seemed incredibly obvious to me. Whenever people started complaining on reddit after the 5.0 archon quest about "the Traveler not using their purification abilities since Mondstadt" was an obvious plothole and a sign of poor writing, my immediate thought was "where in the past four archon quests has abyssal corruption been part of it?". My theory after completing most of the Natlan quests is that Abyssal energy is the inverse of phlogiston, which would make the Traveler's purification abilities make more sense because they are essentially able to turn abyssal energy back into elemental energy. I haven't watched or read too many theories about forbidden knowledge, but from what I've read in quests it seems that Forbidden Knowledge comes from outside of Teyvat entirely and is not part of the world's natural energy, which would explain why its so destructive. It's like a foreign virus entering a body that's never encountered it before, while abyssal energy is something you've already been vaccinated for. Abyssal energy can still be dangerous, but its part of Teyvat's natural balance of energy.
False. Forbidden Knownledge comes from the bottom of the Abyss. Greater Lord Rhukkadevata : : It came from the very bottom of the Abyss. Even I could never understand it.
[I forgot to add this in video] The Chasm had the celestial nail (and Lumenstone Adjuvant which was made from it) as the system to clear Oozing Concretion, so the traveler never used their ability.
@@Noddereres I don't think so. There's definitely more to it, but it's simply not revealed yet, or it's too early for us to know at the point of the story we're at.
@@CatWithBlueHat has sense but even if the concentration was at dangerous levels the travaler didnt use it. Even if the cleansing system of the zone went almost useless
It would be cool at the end if we, the travler, become corrupted with too much abyssal energy and thus became an abyssal entity. So we then play as dainsleif to fight the travler. We then finish off purifying travler and making him back to normal.
Hmm yes and no? To be honest the wind glider lore gives me more of the impression of "the og plan was for the sibling to absorb all the abyssal thingy" but then we know the Vinster King did it, instead. So something might have happened there, and our sibling is more on the side of the one left to pick up the pieces. Maybe their ability was stolen? Or maybe something else happened and the Vinster King absorbing abyssal shit was not done on evil intention? no idea.
When was it said that Irmin was the one to absorb the abyss? All we know about him is that it was his idea to use Forbidden Knowledge (or rather one that he inherited from his predecessors) and that he became "indisposed" shortly after the Cataclysm started. Furthermore, from Clothar we've learnt that it is the Sibling that can control the Abyss.
So the Last Khaenri'ahn King made Lumine eat all abyssal energy and after eating all that, she farted so hard that Khaenri'ah got destroyed and abyssal portal opened all over Teyvat 😂
The Abyss is something that different people learned how to fight against in their own way. So generally while they can fight it, they might not have an answer to any side effects of coming into contact with it, such as disease and corruption. The Traveler seems able to cleanse the corruption and is also immune to its effects, and very few people are capable of that.
BRUH, NO WAY, THE XBOX LIMITED GLIDERS HAD THAT MUCH LORE IN THEM NEVER THOUGHT LORE WOULD BE PLATFORM-LOCKED LIKE THIS. I NEVER REALLY CARED MUCH WHETEHR I HAD THEM OR NOT, BUT NOW THAT IK TRAVELER LORE IS TIED TO IT, I ABSOLUTELY NEED IT
I'd REALLY love seing thay at the end of Teyvat's chapter the siblings get an attunement option where they get rid of all elemental power in them and use their OWN power. Maybe they could be the first meta phisical dps!
I suspect that the Travellers can mainly channel Abyssal Energy and redirect it. But creations of the Abyss are made manifest, imbued with a will or at least a purpose, which means they have a physical body accepting the Abyss. Natlan itself also confirms that cleansing isn't the same as healing, and any aftereffects of exposure to Abyssal Energy are permanent. So yeah, I theorize that it's not about the Abyss itself, but the nature of Abyssal Energy. Forbidden Knowledge might also not originate from the Abyss, but rather have been hidden there.
So in other words, it will be a war between light and darkness, where the traveler will purify their sibling from that darkness within and bring them back to the light
Correct me if I'm wrong but dead people's spirit go to the leyline. The night kingdom serves as Natlan's leyline. The mare jivari is a place where the spirits of the dead get stuck. The border master manifested and exploded a mini night kingdom in battle of the mare jivari. Could it be that the area of the night kingdom corresponding to the mare jivari was destroyed by that event and as such the mare jivari is an area disconnected from teyvat's leyline, causing the spirits of the dead in that area to get stuck ? Elemental energy also flow trough the leyline and has great effect on the land. A lack of elemental energy would probably cause the land to become a barren wasteland wich fits with what we know of the mare jivari. I'm really hyped about that area, can't wait to explore it.
most ppl are already aware of traveler's ability, but many would wonder about why they rarely use it so this video explained it all. But everyone should take note that the part about traveler might be lying or hiding their abillity is just a theory.
The fact is that a traveler may not say much. We may even notice that the traveler is constantly thinking about something, but we are not so often shown the traveler's thoughts, and even more so the traveler does not speak aloud so often. These are just personal observations.
Wait I thought the sibling was never a descender in the first place? Wasn't it established during the Sumeru archon quest that only our traveler was a descender not their sibling?
I haven't been super focused on the lore besides glossing over the in-game text or watching your videos, but I feel like there's a few ways this could end. The happy ending: we purify sibling. Everyone lives The bittersweet ending: Abyss Sibling is too far corrupted to be purified any longer, so MC has to fight them, becoming corrupted themselves, then Paimon for some reason is able to sacrifice herself to save them. Siblings live but no Paimon The bad ending: Abyss Sibling is too far corrupted to be purified any longer, so MC has to end them, becoming corrupted themselves, then Paimon for some reason is able to sacrifice herself to save MC. MC lives but no sibling and Paimon
we could argue that the Traveler didn't know that he (i'm using Aether) didn't know that he is capable of doing it. If I remember, even Aether was surprised when he purified Dvalin's tears. However, knowing that he used it during Natlan Archon Quests, him hiding that purification ability could hold true.
I see ...Paimon is not the only one hiding secrets from us. Also both the primordial one and the abyss are from outside teyvat but one created life and the other absorbs it like yin and yang. Maybe there's a relation between the descenders and the abyss. Since celestia doesn't like other worlders
Its pretty much confirmed by what we learned with Narsissenkreuz quest that the descenders are also those who can purify and avoid corruption from the abyss so yes their connection seem to be that and its also confirmed since the Celestial pillars are just that instruments for purify the abyss
Um..what do we know about Paimon other than that she's Paimon. She's one of a kind cause there is no one like her. Even a conservative community like melusine are known in Fontaine. No archons recognise her not even their people. She is not from khaenri'ah cause of her eyes. She is compared to stars (forgot where this is said) and she knows everything about teyvat.
@@massimilianoreali4398 I personally don't think the celestia is trying to stop or progress the abyss corruption. If the unknown God is powerful enough to trap traveller's power shouldn't she be able to stop the corruption?
@@Ahmed-ov4qx unknown god its not the primordial one she is the sustainer of the Heavenly Principle not the Heavenly principles themself so she us probably a shade and if you see the primordial one was always been at war with the abyss from when Nibelung decided to use the forbidden knowlegde the abyss almost destroyed the real teyvat so they had to recreate it(false sky) and its confirmed that the celestial pillars are sended to the location where there is the abyss for purify it examples: the first celestial pillar was sended against Apep because she was gathering forbidden knowlegde(aka abyssal knowlegde),a celestial pillar qas sended in the Night Realm that is full of Abyssal contamination, another celestial pillar was sended in the Chasm and we all know how BAD the abyssal contamination is in that place, even location that got striked by a pillar that doesn't seem related to the Abyss have subtle connection to it example: tsurumi island have rifthounds and the golden woflord and on dragonspine the princess/priestess of Vignandir litterally dreamed about Durin and they knew how to create the same type of machines that Khaenri'ah was able to create and this machines also work trough knowlegde derived by the abyss
So do you think this is why they are called the Abyss Prince / Princess, because they can absorb all the Abyssal Energy? And they are not really affiliated with the Abyss? I have always found it a bit confusing to understand the difference between The Abyss and The Abyss Order and know who are all on the same side.
I believe the Traveller is not a Descender anymore because the Abyss power they brought with them have dispersed across Tevyat which could explain why the other siblings is working with the abyss instead of fighting against it together. One siblings is travelling while battling against the abyss following the other one spreading the abyss which could mean they have a different ideology and motifs. One following the other step to cleanse while the other traveling to spread chaos probably taking a vengeance against tevyat or heavenly principle. Paimon existence also could be used to back up this theory since Paimon has been guiding 'our' Traveller to battle the abyss which in turn works in Celestia favor in cleansing Tevyat from Abyss.
Interesting Idea however I disagree a little, because in the first time we see our sibling in the Dainslief quest we see them wielding a bit, or rather that their sword being engilved by the abyssal energy so it could be possible that they used the abyssal energy which, by popular theory also comes from outside Teyvat, to reignite their god-like powers, which would explain how our sibling got theirs back considering like you said they got a lot of purification done form their time in Keanri'ha. It may be possible to combine abyssal energy with the 7 elements of Teyvat to achieve the I suppose "Light Element".
It really depends if the Traveler is absorbing rather than converting the energy. For all we know Teyvat hs its own laws and our universe's Law of Conservation of Energy might not apply.
It could work too, because there must be a limit of how much they could purifie at once, so when the abyss sibling absorbed the unlimited abyss power in Kaenri'ah, it was way to much and they couldn't handle converting it all at once so the cataclysme happened. It's just a theory...
This has to do more with the Kabbalah, gnosticism and weird theology that Hoyoverse has always carried. In a nutshell, In kabbalah, in order to reach the Sephiroths on top of the Kabbalah (vessels or emanations of god) you have to cross "the abyss". In order to reach the "Keter" or crown, the one on top, one must cross the abyss. In other words, to become a Descended (someone with a will capable of changing, destroying or sustaining the world), one must go through abyss. Traveler isn't the first one. In Nahida's legendary quest act ii, Apep told us that the Dragon King, Nibelung, returned from the abyss with a power enough to fight the usurper "Phanes". Then after, Narzissenkreuz Ordo tried using abyssal energy to create a descended which could save Fontaine. We even know king Deshret, tried to use forbidden knowledge (abyss power) and failed. So as king Remus did, and a never ending list of rulers from Teyvat. I don't remember well where, but even in the game it is said that only abyssal power can fight Celestial Order. And this is because abyssal energy is one type of energy, and only descenders can assimilate it and make something more of it. This is why the traveler, in order to purify it, absorbs it. Abyssal energy is only one side of the coin, the other being "light" which gives place to "seven elements". Traveler can then, absorb light (elements in each nation) such as he can absorb abyssal energy, and then manipulate it.
No, the reason for the MC’s Twins record in Irminsul is due to the side effects of The Summoning Ritual the Khaenrhi’ahns used to lure them into Teyvat…
I don't think Traveler lied.I think they just doesnt see the need to use it. I wouldnt expect the Traveler to announce that he has purifying abilities 😅 they just use it when needed. I wonder if their purifying ability is like converting the abyssal energy into different energy (possibly light) however in every conversion there must be remnants which may be bad if too much accumulated.
The Abyss is purple like Honkai, they both have crystals too, the Abyss and Honaki are both connected with evolution too, aswell as advanced nations attracting it.
that is more likely .. especially when there are suspicions that Akivili the Aeon of Trailblaze being the Traveler ..... and there is Long the Aeon of Permanence whom i would guess to be King Nibelung in Genshin
Potential the Abyss is like a cross dimensional thing. And the twin is just unknowingly something born with power to combat those aren`t too farfetch in the potential future.
This makes me consider the fact that this is the true reason why Lumine is The Queen of the Abyss Order, since she's already corrupted from all the purification. This might also mean that this "purification" is actually "absorbtion".
it's possible that traveler's power is real purification and s/he will be the one to purify the limitless abyss from the sibling when they fully awakened the power
Honestly the only genshin youtube channel I come back to frequently because they're not drama baiting or are extremely annoying. I really enjoy your content
Damn its been a while hearing Dragonspine theme song😚 In my opinion, the Traveler is not hiding his ability but rather he is unaware of what his powers can do in Teyvat since they are descenders. Not to mention, this unknown god placed a curse on them, concealing his own powers. Lumine, on the other hand, could have known but she chooses not to interfere Aether's journey in the process. Or it could be that their powers have been completely used by this unknown god for something else just like how Citlali (for example) wanted to borrow Traveler's power to fight against the Abyss in Natlan.
So going back to the opening cutscene with the sustainer, her intention must’ve been to capture the twin containing abyssal energy. When people say she looks shocked, could it be because of the color of the cube and how it was gold and not red/purple which usually symbolizes the abyss??
well, it's easy. abyss = honkai, and in hi3 entity's like herrschers are resistant to honkai radiation, ever more, they can use it as fuel. thus, it can be assumed that descenders have roughly the same powers as Herrschers (or be them at all).
I'm wondering Dainsleif or Paimon will be the ones to help the Traveller and the Abyss Twin if they somehow absorb too much Abyssal Energy, or if the traveller is capable of holding "unlimited" amounts of energy. And when the time comes for it, one or both may become a weekly boss in the future. That would be interesting. but yeah, I'm very much enjoying these lore drops for the traveller and the sibling. I need more of them and their character story.
I think, that the traveler know and choose for not to reveal it to other, because I think the traveler knew that he/she been watch, or the knowledge that he/she have are not suitable with people in Teyvet. Just wanted to ask, do we sure that the dragon really the first one on the plane (become we all know as Teyvet), because the sibling said that the flower is here, but why it begins with the dragon. Sorry for my poor English, I'm almost used my word for today....
Maybe the other twin (the abyss one) actually uses the abyss power he consumed assuming he has also consumed it to apply it and use it to create new monsters like the one that was made purely from abyssal power?
I've always wondered why it was called "purifying" when it clearly looked as "absorbing" especially in Natlan. In Mondstadt we never saw how it exactly happened but in Natlan, when the Traveler was "purifying" it , the abyssal energy seems to be going towards them ; for example, if you watch that part when they were in the night kingdom and were helping the wayob with Kachina, you can clearly see that all the other characters had their elemental energy going towards the wayob from them except the Traveler who had the abyssal energy in the wayob coming towards them, so yeah from what we can see right now, it looks like they are absorbing it. I could be wrong but the only thing that doesn't make sense to me now, is that chasca's sister said that the Traveler is immune to the abyss but in Albedo's story quest, an abyssal(?) looking thing formed in the bottom of the bottle the Traveler drank that potion from and Albedo kept it a secret and was never brought up again ; not to mention in Sumeru AQ and Nahida's first SQ and that WQ with the book of revelations in Fontaine and even the Natlan AQ in the night kingdom right before they met Kachina, all had a second when the Traveler showed a small sign of being affected(?) like hearing or seeing something, i don't believe they are as immune as everyone might thing but i do believe they are more powerful than what everyone might think. Do you want to know who i think is really immune ? Paimon. Sorry for the long comment and as i said i could be wrong 😅
It makes sense if the traveler is absorbing abyssal energy rather than purifying it. I mean if they are purifying it, the animation wouldn’t look like an absorption
just a thought: since we see the sibling wield abyss power when we first meet them in dain's quest, and apparently the traveler can absorb abyss too, could their power be "absorb something to use/wield it later"? If you think about it, we gain elemental powers thanks to the statues of the seven, not thanks to a vision. What if the traveler, maybe even unconciously, absorbed the statues powers to gain elemental abilities? Since this phenomenon is something that surprises even archon, and is an ability ONLY the traveler has, it would make sense. Maybe in natlan we didn't get pyro powers because the pyro archon has basically lost her powers to fuel the flame in the stadium, as she said herself, and likely when she'll get those powers back interacting with the statue will give us powers? IDK it's a wild guess but i feel like it kinda makes sense
Interesting, My theory, our sibling already traveled across the world before us and try to "cleanse" the abyss just by "purified" it (or absorb it). Thats why now our sibling got corrupted and sides with the abyss. But the traveler actually uses other method than "purify" unless it actually needed. Thats why we not yet corrupted by the abyss.

I think Forbidden knowledge is more like a memetic virus rather than actual energy. And another theory for the traveller using the ability less is because they absorb the energy instead of banishing it from the subject, thus possibly giving them the same potential as their sibling

I realy love the lore hoyo is dropping for the traveler, it made realise that most of the time they use swordsmanship to fight, and rarely use the elements beacuse is a power they are not familiar with, their original power is verry diferent and they had mastered it long before arriving in teyvat, besides that the traveler only uses "the tip of the iceberg" of the elemental energy presicely because they dont know how to use it fully.
guess that make sense why the elements sucks, people with visons dedicate to that element, to those abilities we see them use ingame through years or atleast as all they have
not only is Traveler a master of none, they barely adjust to it before switching to another
To be fair, elemental energy seems similar enough to whatever the hell they were using before.

Dain was seen carrying something when he came out of Khaenri'ah by Zurwan. I think that something is what keeps him from decaying.

honestly the more you think about it, the more it makes sense why the sustainer didnt out right kill us at the beggining, its all so that we can either tame, or completly destroy the abyss, my quess would be the reason for the 2 siblings being seperated is mostly so that 1 can rule the abyss and one can ascend to the celestial throne, and probably at by the end only 1 side can stay alive

A freaking wind glider… as a lore drop… is the last thing comes to my mind

With the fact that they have traveled through so many worlds, it is not surprising to say that the traveler possesses many special powers and perhaps some of them are very dangerous, so perhaps that is why they hide them
Or there could be other reasons, but this is just a hypothesis anyway.
I had never thought of that before
the lore : traveler have absolutely no idea what the hell is happening to every shit doing weird things after they touched those shit most of the time and simply assumed that their power is about changing some shit to another shit
theorists : "TRAVELER LIED"
FGO: Unlimited Blade Works
Traveller: Unlimited Abyss Works.
After reading "Tequil the Brave" I wondered whether the Abyss sibling had to die to completely resolve the Teyvat's Abyssal problems! 😢 Or it'd be great if we can have the happy ending, as both twins survive.
Yep the second version of the book have happy ending.
@sarena7106 yes I read it too! That's why I mentioned It'd be great if our twins ending is a happy ending. 🫶
If thats the case what about the chasm? If we could absorb abyssal energy then zhiqiong would not be in danger as well for the rest of the expediton
They(hoyo) simply forgor
I think the knowledge obtained from the abyss remains and slowly corrupt them
[I forgot to add this in video] The Chasm had the celestial nail (and Lumenstone Adjuvant which was made from it) as the system to clear Oozing Concretion, so the traveler never used their ability.
It'd be so funny yet sad if the siblings caused the cataclysm and the entire journey is simply damage control
5:46 No longer? I thought they were never a descender to begin with...
Descenders are entities that do not hail from Teyvat and have come from a different world
so they are descender idk the reason but Main character sibling is no longer a descender
So the summary is that the Traveler is a walking time bomb
So the Last Khaenri'ahn King made Lumine eat all abyssal energy
and
after eating all that, she farted so hard that Khaenri'ah got destroyed and abyssal portal opened all over Teyvat 😂
Brah
I'm just here thinking if that stellaron in HSR is actually also in Teyvat that would be awesome, and felt more Hoyoverse-y
I like world quests alot more than the archon quest
The Abyss is something that different people learned how to fight against in their own way. So generally while they can fight it, they might not have an answer to any side effects of coming into contact with it, such as disease and corruption. The Traveler seems able to cleanse the corruption and is also immune to its effects, and very few people are capable of that.
I'll tell you this, only the Traveler and Paimon can do this
BRUH, NO WAY, THE XBOX LIMITED GLIDERS HAD THAT MUCH LORE IN THEM NEVER THOUGHT LORE WOULD BE PLATFORM-LOCKED LIKE THIS. I NEVER REALLY CARED MUCH WHETEHR I HAD THEM OR NOT, BUT NOW THAT IK TRAVELER LORE IS TIED TO IT, I ABSOLUTELY NEED IT
Everyone gets it in 5.3.
The glider will be available on All platforms during 5.3 so we get it in the future
This is bad
Ah nice!! I didn’t know that. Thanks!!
These are just personal observations.
they didn't lie, they just go silent with it, so technically not lying
True. And even if they indeed absorb the abyssal energy, it's still purification technically.
To omit is to lie
True. i mean, does the Traveler have to announce to everyone that he could purify it , lol. He only use is if needed or when necessary.
@@candela__ Not always.

Wait I thought the sibling was never a descender in the first place? Wasn't it established during the Sumeru archon quest that only our traveler was a descender not their sibling?
I've thought sometimes that our MC keeps some secrets from us
I haven't been super focused on the lore besides glossing over the in-game text or watching your videos, but I feel like there's a few ways this could end.
The happy ending: we purify sibling. Everyone lives
The bittersweet ending: Abyss Sibling is too far corrupted to be purified any longer, so MC has to fight them, becoming corrupted themselves, then Paimon for some reason is able to sacrifice herself to save them. Siblings live but no Paimon
The bad ending: Abyss Sibling is too far corrupted to be purified any longer, so MC has to end them, becoming corrupted themselves, then Paimon for some reason is able to sacrifice herself to save MC. MC lives but no sibling and Paimon
Traveler should be the most OP character in Genshin knowing that they are meant to be the MC
we could argue that the Traveler didn't know that he (i'm using Aether) didn't know that he is capable of doing it. If I remember, even Aether was surprised when he purified Dvalin's tears. However, knowing that he used it during Natlan Archon Quests, him hiding that purification ability could hold true.
6 mins ago? Whoa thats awesome! also... great theory cat keep making them theories❤
But wait !!! Capitaino also absorbs something from that random fatui npc ! Ig made the npc feel better after .
0:25 satisfying to see all archons
Do you know how they get these shots? they're very beautiful. Where can I find more?
I see ...Paimon is not the only one hiding secrets from us.
Also both the primordial one and the abyss are from outside teyvat but one created life and the other absorbs it like yin and yang. Maybe there's a relation between the descenders and the abyss. Since celestia doesn't like other worlders
Its pretty much confirmed by what we learned with Narsissenkreuz quest that the descenders are also those who can purify and avoid corruption from the abyss so yes their connection seem to be that and its also confirmed since the Celestial pillars are just that instruments for purify the abyss
What secrets is paimob hiding from us?
Um..what do we know about Paimon other than that she's Paimon.
She's one of a kind cause there is no one like her. Even a conservative community like melusine are known in Fontaine. No archons recognise her not even their people. She is not from khaenri'ah cause of her eyes. She is compared to stars (forgot where this is said) and she knows everything about teyvat.
@@massimilianoreali4398
I personally don't think the celestia is trying to stop or progress the abyss corruption.
What if they are not purifying abyssal energy instead of they are absorbing them which will eventually corrupt them
I KNEW that abyss traveler was responsible for cataclysm
So traveller is basically a sponge in a nutshell
It really depends if the Traveler is absorbing rather than converting the energy. For all we know Teyvat hs its own laws and our universe's Law of Conservation of Energy might not apply.
It could work too, because there must be a limit of how much they could purifie at once, so when the abyss sibling absorbed the unlimited abyss power in Kaenri'ah, it was way to much and they couldn't handle converting it all at once so the cataclysme happened. It's just a theory...
Bro, the transition between soundtracks at 2:33 is too clean...
Thanks now i remember the storyline in genshin.
If Traveler absords too much abysal energy, who will purify them?
Albedo's potions 😉🤫😉
Banger video, almost forgot about all these instances
This actually makes sense, but putting it to perspective, is this the reason why the other twin is written in Irminsul but the playable twin is not?
No, the reason for the MC’s Twins record in Irminsul is due to the side effects of The Summoning Ritual the Khaenrhi’ahns used to lure them into Teyvat…
I don't think Traveler lied.I think they just doesnt see the need to use it. I wouldnt expect the Traveler to announce that he has purifying abilities 😅 they just use it when needed.
I wonder if their purifying ability is like converting the abyssal energy into different energy (possibly light) however in every conversion there must be remnants which may be bad if too much accumulated.
Imagine if the Forbidden knowledge is the Honkai itself.. (Unless Abyss is also Honkai itself by nature..)
The Abyss is purple like Honkai, they both have crystals too, the Abyss and Honaki are both connected with evolution too, aswell as advanced nations attracting it.
Venus people call the honkai "abyss" so its likely the same
Genshin is a part of the Honkai series.
that is more likely .. especially when there are suspicions that Akivili the Aeon of Trailblaze being the Traveler ..... and there is Long the Aeon of Permanence whom i would guess to be King Nibelung in Genshin
Ele era para ser o Honkai Impact 4th,@@ChikyuuKun
What is mystery in genshin.....
Traveler and paimon which are main characters of game damn.....
They are really keeping us in dark don't they
So this siblings are the "input" and "output" siblings.
Now I understand.
I just want her/him to have an upgrade tbh...
it's possible that traveler's power is real purification and s/he will be the one to purify the limitless abyss from the sibling when they fully awakened the power
This video was lit. Brought forth a ton of questions and answers.
well, it's easy. abyss = honkai, and in hi3 entity's like herrschers are resistant to honkai radiation, ever more, they can use it as fuel. thus, it can be assumed that descenders have roughly the same powers as Herrschers (or be them at all).
This also makes sense since the PO uses the power of reason like welt, or other herrschers of reason. It's shade are also like herrschers.
Thank you so much for the lore video! Love keeping track of the game’s stories through your content
Sorry for my poor English, I'm almost used my word for today....
ether the dev forget about or it all according to keikaku. coincidence?? depends
wouldn't it be more then abysmal energy? Technically they are absorbing energy from each element from their statues.
“You should know that all power comes at a price.”
Zhongli
2:30 are they calling the traveler fat?
It makes sense if the traveler is absorbing abyssal energy rather than purifying it. I mean if they are purifying it, the animation wouldn’t look like an absorption
Am i the only one who wishes their vids had narration so I could just watch them in the background?
I did the melusine quests
Learning how they see the Traveler is jarring indeed
just a thought:
since we see the sibling wield abyss power when we first meet them in dain's quest, and apparently the traveler can absorb abyss too, could their power be "absorb something to use/wield it later"? If you think about it, we gain elemental powers thanks to the statues of the seven, not thanks to a vision. What if the traveler, maybe even unconciously, absorbed the statues powers to gain elemental abilities? Since this phenomenon is something that surprises even archon, and is an ability ONLY the traveler has, it would make sense. Maybe in natlan we didn't get pyro powers because the pyro archon has basically lost her powers to fuel the flame in the stadium, as she said herself, and likely when she'll get those powers back interacting with the statue will give us powers? IDK it's a wild guess but i feel like it kinda makes sense
namely. the traveler absorbs the power of Teyvat. This is done not only with the abyss and elements, but also with characters
Interesting,
My theory, our sibling already traveled across the world before us and try to "cleanse" the abyss just by "purified" it (or absorb it). Thats why now our sibling got corrupted and sides with the abyss.
But the traveler actually uses other method than "purify" unless it actually needed. Thats why we not yet corrupted by the abyss.
Wooow this was very interesting and makes a lot of sense to me!
