Another creepy but likely unrelated thing that happened in regards to a Natlanese NPC is with Sakaw who warns you about the foggy islands to the west of Masters of the Night Wind and gives info on related stories and legends. After you finish the island's quest and the fog lifts you can talk to Sakaw and he's confused by you asking about it. He responds "I have never seen fog over the sea since the day I was born." and after that conversation Sakaw will be gone from the location.
Most likely, some kind of memory manipulation. Since Night Kingdom holds Natlan's memories just like Irminsul holds them for the rest of Teyvat. But I'm pretty sure we released the good spirit. I didn't suspect that at all! Although on my side, I suspected something weird with legba, showing up from nowhere in ancient ruins and being ambiguous about who he is and why he's here, while also being knowledgeable...but I dropped the case in the end.
I love stuff like this, everytime someone says Genshin's story is "simple" just pushes everything complex about it to just the lore but the lore has an "ACTIVE" role in the current events as backstory. Compartmentalization is used alot and information about motives of powerful individuals aren't easy to come by. This is the opposite of smart person just telling the main character their full plan.

So i care agree that it isn't fluid due to have to keep players attention during what is essentially an investigation. They remember the lore but can't remember why its important to the story.
@@IN-tm8mw I feel it is because, well they cant have everything as a cutscene, and players need to be kept active, like pressing buttons and stuff as you said. But there is also one other thing, the character model animations are not as great outside of cutscenes or their usual play stuff. During conversations every character feels stiff. The expressions and everything. Plus sometimes, until the user taps for the dialog to move ahead, there would be some random NPC locked in motion, clapping or some stuff. These are small things, but they add up. Also the moment when Neuvilette tells everyone the truth about fontainians, he uses his character idle animation, the rain stopping and then sending rain upwards. It feels both kinda nice and lazy at the same time. However the worst thing is, the conversations are not written well enough. If you read the hidden lore texts scattered around the world, they are super well written. The phrasing is amazing, but they had to dumb down the normal conversation dialogs maybe to suit the masses.They cant make them too sophisticated, however this often lacks in unserious convos and less impactful dialogs. For example the scene where Natlan's final war begins. We are inside a restaurant with Citlali and Xilonen i believe, Kachina comes in urgency , telling that Children of echoes have been attacked. The war has essentially started. They go out meet mavuika, and then proceed to just stand and chat. Like, yes info and understanding the plan is necessary, but all of a sudden it becomes a very awkward mix of "its urgent but we can wait for a tea party". The dialogs suggest its urgent, but their body language and background music suggest its not. This is the disconnect I am talking about. Either way, i don't really care too much about these things, I prefer to "read" stuff rather than seeing it play out. So i am usually well versed with all lore from genshin, so this allows me to bypass this disconnect in the story. However i understand that unless you are not a lore hunter, don't mind spoilers like me, you will struggle to focus on the dialogs.
I can see why Ubah Khan would want humanity's plot armor. Humanity's plot armor is so thick that Ajaw, a dragon lord he created that routinely wishes for their destruction actually vowed to avenge Kinich after was unalived. He was absolutely pissed when Kinich said sike and revived though 😂
Enjou and all of his human appearances, version 4.8's hinting to Durin being revived and possibly a threat once more, Waxalahun Ubah Kan also having at least three different "human" faces for an unknown goal...i know some aspects of the lore aren't found in archon/permanently available quests but my god am i so desperate to see how and where these connect. Especially "The Thing Calling Itself Enjou" and Waxa's similarities.
Yeah, I am also enjoying Enjou’s appearances and becoming curious of what his goals are, maybe one day he’ll get a playable human form I can imagine the voice lines being gold

Do we know who the Dragon Sage is? I mean like his title or rank or standing in Dragon Society? He wasn't the sovereign or an archon but seems like he was pretty important and powerful. The fact that he shapeshifted into the Natlan NPCs from the past is SO COOL. I played the quest and did not pick up on that at all! Also, I think Ochkanatlan has my fav music in the game so far, it sets such a good mood there.
I like to think he was the Alhaitham of the dragon society, fairly high up in rank but reserved about getting involved. While at the same time harboring radical ideas about how things should happen. I feel like he had no position of ruler ship at all but very high clearance
If you know what Scylla is, he's kinda like that. If you think of dragon society like the Knights of Favonius, there's the Dragon Kings, (which is in this case Neuvillette or Xiuhcoatl) which is like the Grand Master, Varka. Then beneath that, you have the dragon princes, (in this case that's Scylla or Waxaklahun Ubah Kan) this role is like the Knight Captains, like Diluc and Albedo. Below that you can have the ordinary Vishap/dragons like Pahsiv, these are like the Knight guards, like Huffman or Godwin.
I think he created masks using the souls of his victims and uses those masks as disguise. And it's something disgustingly horrifying according to Ochkan
It's interesting that the scene with the Sage took place sometime before we came to the Dragon Ship, since the mural the Sage was standing in front of was shattered by the time we got up there. Also, if Bona is the same type of entity as Titu, Legba, and Manqu, it's possible that the personas that the Sage adopts time know that they are not the real person.
Omg I think you’re right. These three (Manqu, Titu and Legba) might be the ones who told Capitano about the secret source mech. If we were able to meet them as the Traveler, why not Capitano right?
I don't think they were him but they could have be manipulated by him. The names of the ones that talked to Capitano were Aberewaa, Bosomtwe and Cuxtal and their ABC names are a good parallel with Albizzi, Boborano and Cappet from Simulanka. There was a narrator moving the pieces behind the scenes in that quest, tho, and it could very well be a reference to the Sage.
I didn't even put two and two together that we've met the sage through the three guys. I was trying to figure out who they were up till now... It makes so much more sense now :')
You know what's really out there? They didn't die of old age or anything like that. The scroll of Cinder City artifacts set shows that they were torn to shreds by Ochkan and their young team mate was the one to find them. Ochkan really is one for the horror books. Dude i didn't give it a second thought... never thought about the similarities between thise charas and the one from the quest. I just pass most of those quest rapidly to get the rewards and have fun, but never focus on the lore since I have youtube for that.
This made my mind blow, like fr. I was so focused on every dialogues spoken in that quest with Bona and Coco, trying to understand what the lore is cuz I'm curious about it, that I failed to notice and remember the NAMES. LITERALLY THE NAMES. I was so focused on what was happening too so I didn't look at the names at all. Maybe I did but I failed to piece the puzzles and have a realization like "wait a damn minute- I talked to these guys before??"
Also, when you talk to Titu after the ochkanatlan quest, read his dialogues carefully. It's weird how he emphasized the "I've" and "I" as if trying his best to convince us that maybe we were just seeing things. And Idk about y'all but when someone tells me that they think they saw me, I would say that it was probably someone who looked like me from behind or that I never really left the house so it's impossible. But with Titu, he seemed like he was emphasizing that anyone can be called by that name (Titu) so it's weird how he said that instead of saying things like "maybe it's just someone who looked like me" or "but I was busy doing stuff here"
I even went to legba to talk to him after the world quest cuz i couldn't believe he had been alive for so long. Makes sense now that he's the sage in disguise
The "Twisted Extensions" world quest was a trip!😱😱 back to the topic, at the end of our first Little Buddy quest I remember Manqu said something that felt off, he wished Traveler and little one a safe journey and then said: "Yes...A the journey's end, the place where all souls come to rest, we'll meet again- I am sure of it!"
So the chosen one of the dragons seems to be our little dinosaur companion and not us. So if he has already met the dragon sage man several times, could he be chosen to be the new dragon lord? Or a vessel for the soul of a sovereign? And why does this dragon sage give me such enjou vibes?

It looks to me like a generational divide between the last pyro sovereign, who was in his view betrayed by the dragon working with humans, the sage of stolen flame, while the dssage of stolen flame was in turn betrayed by the human half/dragon heir of ochkanatlan
To me, it looks more like dragon sage is a loser that fails in pretty much everything he sets out to do. He told Capitano about the source mechanism, but all that did, is empower the Lord of the Night. No other plan of his has worked yet, either.

Speaking of reviving Dragons... What if the Sage wants not only the Dragons of Natlan to actually be revived but also outside of it?. I am getting nervous about it because we had been having leaks that Durin ( from Mond ) himself will be revived and we also need to remember Elynas ( from Fontaine ) wasn't actually dead but sort of was also in a suspended statis himself. I am also having a suspicion that what if we have to fight our little Saurian companion because he evolved into full fleged Dragon?...please Hoyo No!. I DON’T WANT TO KILL HIM!.😭 Natlan lore is so very interesting with its rich dark history. I'm also amazed/intrigued how the floating city remained like that for thousand? Hundreds of years? Without Celestia striking it down....
I do not think that a proper dragon would consider Abyss Dragons created by Rhinedottir to be their kind. To them, Abyss Dragons must be stuff of nightmares.
I dont think waxa is the big bad, but he's been around since before the cataclysm and likely has been influencing people in natlan ever since, he is the one who taught them phlogiston engraving anyway. He probably knows about the sinners and what happened in khaenriah. Like nearly all the hidden but very strong characters in teyvat (like hexenzirkel. the fatui) the abyss IS THE enemy to stop so although not being allies of each other, the enemy of my enemy is my friend (at least for now). Waxa may know of zhongli and neuvilette and other long lived entities, but he's likely so focused on natlan he hasnt even left it's borders.
Yes, but the end of the World Quest will probably be him playing the antagonist role, like the Narzissenkreuz. Since Ixlel knows so much about the world (she knows about the 3 moons and the ladder to the Firmament), no doubt The Sage is just as knowledgeable if not more. His mistrust of The Lord of the Night, and by extension the authority of Celestia, is probably rooted in that knowledge. He mistrusted them so much he built the first human tribe on the flying islands known as the Upper Sanctum (above the people of the springs) and shared Phlogiston with the humans there. According to legend, he also told them not to consume anything from below, except for water, for water comes from the Source of all waters and not bound to the Night Kingdom, but the Lord of the Night disguised themselves as a human and ended up tricking the tribe, made them consume alcohol, binding them again to the lands of Natlan below. The Sage got angry at this and left, walking on the "road home", which now brought them back to Natlan. Note that even Och-kan banned the worship of the Lord of the Night from his kingdom, but fighting the abyss alone proved fatal. Xbalanque on the other hand made full use of the help Ronova provided, and thus the pact was made to give humanity a better chance against the Abyss.
I really regret playing this quest while half asleep 😥 I didn’t notice Manqu, Legba, and Titu! My tired brain was too caught up on the part about Bona being a ghost…
Ochkanatlan answered something (to an extent) that I have been questioning forever: you can't interact with trees with elementally infused auto-attacks. I call this entire theory "the tree chopping theory" cuz it's just so funny how a failed tree chopping-spree failed when I pulled for Ayaka back in the days. My theory was: elements and trees (aka things from the leylines) are of different worlds, they don't belong and therefore can't interact. What we learnt in Ochkanatlan: "dragons adapt to their surroundings, humans adapt their surroundings for their needs". I applied my observation with trees in this way: Humans have innately had the power the modify their surroundings, they only had physical power. However the first one who came stole "authority" from dragons and gave it to human archons instead. Why would the first one who came do that? I think dragons realized that with physical power, they could achieve much more than they would only with knowledge and elemental power (both combined leading to great authority, the power to lead), so they might have enslaved humans. The first one who came wanted to free humanity of its enslaved state, but in order to do that authority had to be given to humanity instead. Signs that dragons cannot interact with vegitation/trees: there is not a single ruin from dragons that point to there ever having been any usage of vegitation, it's all rock and metals. We know that dragons should be able to interact with those matters due to 2 factors: 1: the entirety of Ochkanatlan is made of rock and iron. 2: we can destroy rock with elemental powers. Without authority, dragons had no clear understanding of what to adapt to, hence - something we learnt in the ship above Ochkanatlan - some dragons have mutated into beings that do nothing but react aggressively to things, all to retain their elemental power (aka: Vishaps, that are of Dragon decent). But there is something else we know has also occurred within humanity since they supposedly got authority in their hands: war. In the real world it's pretty much taken for granted that people go to war for power. Therefore, we had the archon war. If anyone is confused about what this "authority" thing is and where it comes from, we learnt in the Fontaine archon quest that when Focalors died along with the "hydro seat", Authority of hydro was given back to Neuvilette. And in Neuvilette's description it says: "Authority: Hydro" instead of "vision: hydro" or "gnosis: hydro". Something I thought about today as well, was that in dragonspine we see a wall painting of an angel giving something to a king, and then we see the king calling for people to carry things way heavier than their own bodies up mountains of vegitation. I think this is a depiction of humanity also enslaving itself to an extent, and perhaps what was given was authority. We see parts of the sign of what I think refers to authority on mora, mora being money, money being something that has an extent of authority. We also see another part of the sign on Paimon, paimon being the name of a demon king, king being someone with authority, also referred to as "king among spirits", still obedient to Lucifer (aka perhaps the first one who came?) I can go on and on, but I mean it's obviously very central that wood chopping was a hint at something huge, and in Ochkanatlan we got a partial answer.
Its worrying me that this is all world quest stuff that we dont HAVE to play through to be able to play the main quests, do you think theyll keep this whole storyline about the dragons to a world quest chain like Narcizzenkreuz? Bc that quest chain had a lot of interesting stuff but was still self contained while this has implications for the main plot line. Either the world quest will collide with the main one somehow, or it will never get reaolved in the main plot what was up with that device 😅
You do have to play them - they count towards the Ancient Name scroll. And I imagine that we need that scroll complete before we get into battle with Mauvika in 5.3.
In fact I didn't do the Titus quest and they just cut that last Ochkan scene to me and now that I've done it I cant go back to see the end of the Okchan quest :) So I've never seen those 3 NPC talking to each other lol
when u pulled up Manqu's name written in the description my jaw dropped. Idk if anybody else saw this connection, but this is the first time Im hearing about this and I wish I was more observant during the quest, there are just so many it's easy to miss I guess
In Ixlel's final chamber witht the spiritway there are some books. One mentions a sacrifice. Does this relate to Celestia or someone else? I was quite confused by that. It seems they imply that Celestia doesnt want people to know about a sacrifice.
There are two mentions of sacrifices. One of them seems to be about killing the workers who excavated the old core of chu'lel area - this is a mundane sacrifice to make sure they can never tell what they saw there. As "unfinished reverie" artifact set shows, it did not work, and one craftsman made it out alive, if badly burned. The other says offerings to some unknown entity must be stopped. And these are clearly a supernatural ritual, because stopping it will prevent the dead from communicating with the living. The offerings must be either to Ronova, or to the Night Kingdom and its Wayobs.
Ochkanatlan has foreshadowed 3 events that is set to happen in the future -Albedo's Clone/Fake Albedo/The Fell Whoppflower who taken the form of Albedo which is creepily portrayed by Quenin's side quest, the guy was already dead for a long time but an abyssal plant monster mimicked not only his form but his memory and personality as if it is starting to replace Quenin almost perfectly except the memories are incomplete. So who else do you think have this behaviour? Right it was the fake Albedo when it tried to kill the real one and the Traveler way back on Dragonspine Event -Xiucoatl's faked its death probably when Xiucoatl was left on a dying state his soul was absorbed by Gosoythoth(That Abyss Eye thing which spawned tumor and caused many deaths in Natlan AQ 5.2) leaving his body as empty husk. maybe Xiucoatl made a contract with the abyss which is if he used Abyssal powers in return his soul will be the payment. Maybe this is also the reason why Gosoythoth was able to mimic his form with his very own sentience and we will fight him on 5.3 Archon Quest. -Vishap people and Dragonkin People, THE REPTILIANS ARE REAL The Sage of Stolen Fire envisioned the human evolution from dragons, one of the records mentioned about losing the purity of elements again resulting to future Pyro Sovereign to be never reborn. Strangely enough Enkanomiya people predicted that the Sovereign of Water will eventually return in form of Neuvillete (I really wished it was Kokomi tho)

He got mentioned during the 2.8(?) GAA event. On Xinyan's island there's a bit where she has a vision of seeing her friends surprising her for her birthday and they talk about getting an artisan to make something for her. I don't remember now if they explicitly called him by name but it was obvious that was who they meant.
I am struck by the mural and what is in the middle, and also by what the wise man says represents evolution. Perhaps the Irminsul enclosed in the dome represents the lowest stage of evolution and what appears on the right, which looks like another satellite (or moon), represents the final phase?

It's inconclusive here, she could be talking about all of the other dragons for fraternising with the gods and humans but then, she also did the same herself, perhaps she's just talking about those that allied with humanity and or the gods, which right now is mainly Neuvillette and Dvalin, which makes sense given that, due to their age, originally they would not have been as aware of the past as the older dragons.

Both you and Capitano met him. He was planning to use Capitano to indirectly erase all humans from Natlan and start his own dragon race from the start when Capitano proposed Mavuika to destroy the Ley Lines using the Secret Source Mechanism and create a new network of Ley Lines using the Lord of the Night's Power. Luckily for us, Mavuika refused his plan from the get go. Traveler met him as Manqu the white haired NPC who tells you about the cleansing ritual and Titu who took you to find the Inscriptions and seal the nails back inside. If you complete the Ochkanatlan quest you will find how the Dragon Sage tried to lure Capitano to wiping out Natlan and now manipulated you and your little Tepetlisaur to complete the cleansing ritual to unlock the Lil' Buddy's true form
@aniketgupta8988 colour me surprised! I haven't went yet to ochkanatlan until... Later today?. But I wouldn't be surprised that Lil'buddy will become the Dragon Sovereign's reincarnation... Now as much as I'd love if he becomes a free, story gift 5*, that won't happen, even less a character like that as a 4*. Even if Kukulkan tries to manipulate Lil'buddy to its biding, our dragon might be too imprinted to us and take our side instead and do a McMuffin to let Natlantians travel around Teyvat in later chapters
@@Ladiusmann The parts of Secret Source Mechanism are the ones you will find all over Ochkanatlan. The three Sages Capitano talked about, Mavuika doesn't know about them. The reason she doesn't know them is because those Sages don't exist or specifically are not alive anymore. It was the Dragon Sage disguised as them who intentionally left clues about using the Secret Source Mechanism to destroy the Ley Lines and create them anew. But Capitano would be doing nothing but fulfill his plan to erase all humans of Natlan to bring back the Dragon Race again, he was using Capitano like a puppet for his grand scheme
He's outside of the Children of Echoes when you go into Natlan itself, there's that quarry with some Tepetlisaurus and their keepers and he stands guard their now, as he should have been when we met him trying to fix that nail down.
I think personally natlan story is far from over,and i hope at least hold till summer next year,its interesting,and there is something mysterious about our saurian companion,i mean a hybrid between a dragon and human, sounds to me like a rise of new character in natlan maybe a future pyro dragon sovereign,like neuvelette,i honestly wish we get a character like neuvelette i would definitely 💯 pull for him,if i know that from the start if hoyoverse actually cooking a new pyro sovereign character, definitely i would skip mavuika and capitano,but mihoyo is good,smart idk i wish i'm right,but i used to disappointment 😞
The dragon sage secretly manipulating mc by being a npc guide that not even pyro archon knows. Maybe the dragon sage was manipulating human to make ochan looks like a tyrant and dislike him.
Check Unfinished Reverie artifact and Astral Vulture's Crimson Pulmage description. Och-kan was confronted and defeated by the Scarlet eyed hero because he became overzealous and enslaved Saurians due to his hatred of his dragon blood and dragonkind.

Its actually the story telling of genshin, that is not as fluid. The lore however is fantastic.
Story in Genshin is straight up dogshit. But the lore is awesome. If only the storytelling would tap into all the potential of the lore...

@@IN-tm8mw I feel it is because, well they cant have everything as a cutscene, and players need to be kept active, like pressing buttons and stuff as you said. But there is also one other thing, the character model animations are not as great outside of cutscenes or their usual play stuff. During conversations every character feels stiff. The expressions and everything. Plus sometimes, until the user taps for the dialog to move ahead, there would be some random NPC locked in motion, clapping or some stuff. These are small things, but they add up. Also the moment when Neuvilette tells everyone the truth about fontainians, he uses his character idle animation, the rain stopping and then sending rain upwards. It feels both kinda nice and lazy at the same time.
However the worst thing is, the conversations are not written well enough. If you read the hidden lore texts scattered around the world, they are super well written. The phrasing is amazing, but they had to dumb down the normal conversation dialogs maybe to suit the masses.They cant make them too sophisticated, however this often lacks in unserious convos and less impactful dialogs.
For example the scene where Natlan's final war begins. We are inside a restaurant with Citlali and Xilonen i believe, Kachina comes in urgency , telling that Children of echoes have been attacked. The war has essentially started. They go out meet mavuika, and then proceed to just stand and chat. Like, yes info and understanding the plan is necessary, but all of a sudden it becomes a very awkward mix of "its urgent but we can wait for a tea party". The dialogs suggest its urgent, but their body language and background music suggest its not. This is the disconnect I am talking about.
Either way, i don't really care too much about these things, I prefer to "read" stuff rather than seeing it play out. So i am usually well versed with all lore from genshin, so this allows me to bypass this disconnect in the story. However i understand that unless you are not a lore hunter, don't mind spoilers like me, you will struggle to focus on the dialogs.
I can see why Ubah Khan would want humanity's plot armor. Humanity's plot armor is so thick that Ajaw, a dragon lord he created that routinely wishes for their destruction actually vowed to avenge Kinich after was unalived. He was absolutely pissed when Kinich said sike and revived though 😂
Enjou and all of his human appearances, version 4.8's hinting to Durin being revived and possibly a threat once more, Waxalahun Ubah Kan also having at least three different "human" faces for an unknown goal...i know some aspects of the lore aren't found in archon/permanently available quests but my god am i so desperate to see how and where these connect. Especially "The Thing Calling Itself Enjou" and Waxa's similarities.
Yeah, I am also enjoying Enjou’s appearances and becoming curious of what his goals are, maybe one day he’ll get a playable human form I can imagine the voice lines being gold

Do we know who the Dragon Sage is? I mean like his title or rank or standing in Dragon Society? He wasn't the sovereign or an archon but seems like he was pretty important and powerful. The fact that he shapeshifted into the Natlan NPCs from the past is SO COOL. I played the quest and did not pick up on that at all! Also, I think Ochkanatlan has my fav music in the game so far, it sets such a good mood there.
I like to think he was the Alhaitham of the dragon society, fairly high up in rank but reserved about getting involved. While at the same time harboring radical ideas about how things should happen. I feel like he had no position of ruler ship at all but very high clearance
If you know what Scylla is, he's kinda like that.
If you think of dragon society like the Knights of Favonius, there's the Dragon Kings, (which is in this case Neuvillette or Xiuhcoatl) which is like the Grand Master, Varka. Then beneath that, you have the dragon princes, (in this case that's Scylla or Waxaklahun Ubah Kan) this role is like the Knight Captains, like Diluc and Albedo. Below that you can have the ordinary Vishap/dragons like Pahsiv, these are like the Knight guards, like Huffman or Godwin.
I think he created masks using the souls of his victims and uses those masks as disguise. And it's something disgustingly horrifying according to Ochkan
He's the wisest of the dragons. He's also a metaphor to Prometheus
It's interesting that the scene with the Sage took place sometime before we came to the Dragon Ship, since the mural the Sage was standing in front of was shattered by the time we got up there.
Also, if Bona is the same type of entity as Titu, Legba, and Manqu, it's possible that the personas that the Sage adopts time know that they are not the real person.

Omg I think you’re right. These three (Manqu, Titu and Legba) might be the ones who told Capitano about the secret source mech. If we were able to meet them as the Traveler, why not Capitano right?
I don't think they were him but they could have be manipulated by him. The names of the ones that talked to Capitano were Aberewaa, Bosomtwe and Cuxtal and their ABC names are a good parallel with Albizzi, Boborano and Cappet from Simulanka. There was a narrator moving the pieces behind the scenes in that quest, tho, and it could very well be a reference to the Sage.
I didn't even put two and two together that we've met the sage through the three guys. I was trying to figure out who they were up till now... It makes so much more sense now :')
You know what's really out there? They didn't die of old age or anything like that. The scroll of Cinder City artifacts set shows that they were torn to shreds by Ochkan and their young team mate was the one to find them. Ochkan really is one for the horror books. Dude i didn't give it a second thought... never thought about the similarities between thise charas and the one from the quest. I just pass most of those quest rapidly to get the rewards and have fun, but never focus on the lore since I have youtube for that.
This made my mind blow, like fr. I was so focused on every dialogues spoken in that quest with Bona and Coco, trying to understand what the lore is cuz I'm curious about it, that I failed to notice and remember the NAMES. LITERALLY THE NAMES. I was so focused on what was happening too so I didn't look at the names at all. Maybe I did but I failed to piece the puzzles and have a realization like "wait a damn minute- I talked to these guys before??"
Also, when you talk to Titu after the ochkanatlan quest, read his dialogues carefully.
It's weird how he emphasized the "I've" and "I" as if trying his best to convince us that maybe we were just seeing things. And Idk about y'all but when someone tells me that they think they saw me, I would say that it was probably someone who looked like me from behind or that I never really left the house so it's impossible. But with Titu, he seemed like he was emphasizing that anyone can be called by that name (Titu) so it's weird how he said that instead of saying things like "maybe it's just someone who looked like me" or "but I was busy doing stuff here"
I even went to legba to talk to him after the world quest cuz i couldn't believe he had been alive for so long.
Makes sense now that he's the sage in disguise

The "Twisted Extensions" world quest was a trip!😱😱 back to the topic, at the end of our first Little Buddy quest I remember Manqu said something that felt off, he wished Traveler and little one a safe journey and then said: "Yes...A the journey's end, the place where all souls come to rest, we'll meet again- I am sure of it!"
I'm now suspicious of the guy flying on the phlogiston vent the same way Bona did
So the chosen one of the dragons seems to be our little dinosaur companion and not us. So if he has already met the dragon sage man several times, could he be chosen to be the new dragon lord? Or a vessel for the soul of a sovereign?

It looks to me like a generational divide between the last pyro sovereign, who was in his view betrayed by the dragon working with humans, the sage of stolen flame, while the dssage of stolen flame was in turn betrayed by the human half/dragon heir of ochkanatlan
To me, it looks more like dragon sage is a loser that fails in pretty much everything he sets out to do.
He told Capitano about the source mechanism, but all that did, is empower the Lord of the Night.
No other plan of his has worked yet, either.

What if the Sage wants not only the Dragons of Natlan to actually be revived but also outside of it?. I am getting nervous about it because we had been having leaks that Durin ( from Mond ) himself will be revived and we also need to remember Elynas ( from Fontaine ) wasn't actually dead but sort of was also in a suspended statis himself.
I am also having a suspicion that what if we have to fight our little Saurian companion because he evolved into full fleged Dragon?...please Hoyo No!. I DON’T WANT TO KILL HIM!.😭
Natlan lore is so very interesting with its rich dark history. I'm also amazed/intrigued how the floating city remained like that for thousand? Hundreds of years? Without Celestia striking it down....
I do not think that a proper dragon would consider Abyss Dragons created by Rhinedottir to be their kind. To them, Abyss Dragons must be stuff of nightmares.
I dont think waxa is the big bad, but he's been around since before the cataclysm and likely has been influencing people in natlan ever since, he is the one who taught them phlogiston engraving anyway. He probably knows about the sinners and what happened in khaenriah. Like nearly all the hidden but very strong characters in teyvat (like hexenzirkel. the fatui) the abyss IS THE enemy to stop so although not being allies of each other, the enemy of my enemy is my friend (at least for now).
Waxa may know of zhongli and neuvilette and other long lived entities, but he's likely so focused on natlan he hasnt even left it's borders.
Yes, but the end of the World Quest will probably be him playing the antagonist role, like the Narzissenkreuz.
Since Ixlel knows so much about the world (she knows about the 3 moons and the ladder to the Firmament), no doubt The Sage is just as knowledgeable if not more.
His mistrust of The Lord of the Night, and by extension the authority of Celestia, is probably rooted in that knowledge. He mistrusted them so much he built the first human tribe on the flying islands known as the Upper Sanctum (above the people of the springs) and shared Phlogiston with the humans there. According to legend, he also told them not to consume anything from below, except for water, for water comes from the Source of all waters and not bound to the Night Kingdom, but the Lord of the Night disguised themselves as a human and ended up tricking the tribe, made them consume alcohol, binding them again to the lands of Natlan below. The Sage got angry at this and left, walking on the "road home", which now brought them back to Natlan.
Note that even Och-kan banned the worship of the Lord of the Night from his kingdom, but fighting the abyss alone proved fatal. Xbalanque on the other hand made full use of the help Ronova provided, and thus the pact was made to give humanity a better chance against the Abyss.
I really regret playing this quest while half asleep 😥 I didn’t notice Manqu, Legba, and Titu! My tired brain was too caught up on the part about Bona being a ghost…

Ochkanatlan answered something (to an extent) that I have been questioning forever:
you can't interact with trees with elementally infused auto-attacks.
I call this entire theory "the tree chopping theory" cuz it's just so funny how a failed tree chopping-spree failed when I pulled for Ayaka back in the days.
My theory was: elements and trees (aka things from the leylines) are of different worlds, they don't belong and therefore can't interact.
What we learnt in Ochkanatlan: "dragons adapt to their surroundings, humans adapt their surroundings for their needs".
I applied my observation with trees in this way:
Humans have innately had the power the modify their surroundings, they only had physical power. However the first one who came stole "authority" from dragons and gave it to human archons instead.
Why would the first one who came do that?
I think dragons realized that with physical power, they could achieve much more than they would only with knowledge and elemental power (both combined leading to great authority, the power to lead), so they might have enslaved humans. The first one who came wanted to free humanity of its enslaved state, but in order to do that authority had to be given to humanity instead.
Signs that dragons cannot interact with vegitation/trees: there is not a single ruin from dragons that point to there ever having been any usage of vegitation, it's all rock and metals. We know that dragons should be able to interact with those matters due to 2 factors:
1: the entirety of Ochkanatlan is made of rock and iron.
2: we can destroy rock with elemental powers.
Without authority, dragons had no clear understanding of what to adapt to, hence - something we learnt in the ship above Ochkanatlan - some dragons have mutated into beings that do nothing but react aggressively to things, all to retain their elemental power (aka: Vishaps, that are of Dragon decent).
But there is something else we know has also occurred within humanity since they supposedly got authority in their hands: war.
In the real world it's pretty much taken for granted that people go to war for power.
Therefore, we had the archon war.
If anyone is confused about what this "authority" thing is and where it comes from, we learnt in the Fontaine archon quest that when Focalors died along with the "hydro seat", Authority of hydro was given back to Neuvilette. And in Neuvilette's description it says: "Authority: Hydro" instead of "vision: hydro" or "gnosis: hydro".
Something I thought about today as well, was that in dragonspine we see a wall painting of an angel giving something to a king, and then we see the king calling for people to carry things way heavier than their own bodies up mountains of vegitation. I think this is a depiction of humanity also enslaving itself to an extent, and perhaps what was given was authority.
We see parts of the sign of what I think refers to authority on mora, mora being money, money being something that has an extent of authority. We also see another part of the sign on Paimon, paimon being the name of a demon king, king being someone with authority, also referred to as "king among spirits", still obedient to Lucifer (aka perhaps the first one who came?)
I can go on and on, but I mean it's obviously very central that wood chopping was a hint at something huge, and in Ochkanatlan we got a partial answer.
Its worrying me that this is all world quest stuff that we dont HAVE to play through to be able to play the main quests, do you think theyll keep this whole storyline about the dragons to a world quest chain like Narcizzenkreuz? Bc that quest chain had a lot of interesting stuff but was still self contained while this has implications for the main plot line. Either the world quest will collide with the main one somehow, or it will never get reaolved in the main plot what was up with that device 😅
You do have to play them - they count towards the Ancient Name scroll. And I imagine that we need that scroll complete before we get into battle with Mauvika in 5.3.
In fact I didn't do the Titus quest and they just cut that last Ochkan scene to me and now that I've done it I cant go back to see the end of the Okchan quest :) So I've never seen those 3 NPC talking to each other lol
when u pulled up Manqu's name written in the description my jaw dropped. Idk if anybody else saw this connection, but this is the first time Im hearing about this and I wish I was more observant during the quest, there are just so many it's easy to miss I guess
In Ixlel's final chamber witht the spiritway there are some books. One mentions a sacrifice. Does this relate to Celestia or someone else? I was quite confused by that. It seems they imply that Celestia doesnt want people to know about a sacrifice.
There are two mentions of sacrifices. One of them seems to be about killing the workers who excavated the old core of chu'lel area - this is a mundane sacrifice to make sure they can never tell what they saw there. As "unfinished reverie" artifact set shows, it did not work, and one craftsman made it out alive, if badly burned.
The other says offerings to some unknown entity must be stopped. And these are clearly a supernatural ritual, because stopping it will prevent the dead from communicating with the living. The offerings must be either to Ronova, or to the Night Kingdom and its Wayobs.
Ochkanatlan has foreshadowed 3 events that is set to happen in the future
-Albedo's Clone/Fake Albedo/The Fell Whoppflower who taken the form of Albedo
which is creepily portrayed by Quenin's side quest, the guy was already dead for a long time but an abyssal plant monster mimicked not only his form but his memory and personality as if it is starting to replace Quenin almost perfectly except the memories are incomplete. So who else do you think have this behaviour? Right it was the fake Albedo when it tried to kill the real one and the Traveler way back on Dragonspine Event
-Xiucoatl's faked its death
probably when Xiucoatl was left on a dying state his soul was absorbed by Gosoythoth(That Abyss Eye thing which spawned tumor and caused many deaths in Natlan AQ 5.2) leaving his body as empty husk. maybe Xiucoatl made a contract with the abyss which is if he used Abyssal powers in return his soul will be the payment. Maybe this is also the reason why Gosoythoth was able to mimic his form with his very own sentience and we will fight him on 5.3 Archon Quest.
-Vishap people and Dragonkin People, THE REPTILIANS ARE REAL
The Sage of Stolen Fire envisioned the human evolution from dragons, one of the records mentioned about losing the purity of elements again resulting to future Pyro Sovereign to be never reborn. Strangely enough Enkanomiya people predicted that the Sovereign of Water will eventually return in form of Neuvillete (I really wished it was Kokomi tho)

He got mentioned during the 2.8(?) GAA event. On Xinyan's island there's a bit where she has a vision of seeing her friends surprising her for her birthday and they talk about getting an artisan to make something for her. I don't remember now if they explicitly called him by name but it was obvious that was who they meant.

I am struck by the mural and what is in the middle, and also by what the wise man says represents evolution. Perhaps the Irminsul enclosed in the dome represents the lowest stage of evolution and what appears on the right, which looks like another satellite (or moon), represents the final phase?

It's inconclusive here, she could be talking about all of the other dragons for fraternising with the gods and humans but then, she also did the same herself, perhaps she's just talking about those that allied with humanity and or the gods, which right now is mainly Neuvillette and Dvalin, which makes sense given that, due to their age, originally they would not have been as aware of the past as the older dragons.

Both you and Capitano met him. He was planning to use Capitano to indirectly erase all humans from Natlan and start his own dragon race from the start when Capitano proposed Mavuika to destroy the Ley Lines using the Secret Source Mechanism and create a new network of Ley Lines using the Lord of the Night's Power. Luckily for us, Mavuika refused his plan from the get go. Traveler met him as Manqu the white haired NPC who tells you about the cleansing ritual and Titu who took you to find the Inscriptions and seal the nails back inside. If you complete the Ochkanatlan quest you will find how the Dragon Sage tried to lure Capitano to wiping out Natlan and now manipulated you and your little Tepetlisaur to complete the cleansing ritual to unlock the Lil' Buddy's true form

Now as much as I'd love if he becomes a free, story gift 5*, that won't happen, even less a character like that as a 4*.
Even if Kukulkan tries to manipulate Lil'buddy to its biding, our dragon might be too imprinted to us and take our side instead and do a McMuffin to let Natlantians travel around Teyvat in later chapters

@@Ladiusmann The parts of Secret Source Mechanism are the ones you will find all over Ochkanatlan. The three Sages Capitano talked about, Mavuika doesn't know about them. The reason she doesn't know them is because those Sages don't exist or specifically are not alive anymore. It was the Dragon Sage disguised as them who intentionally left clues about using the Secret Source Mechanism to destroy the Ley Lines and create them anew. But Capitano would be doing nothing but fulfill his plan to erase all humans of Natlan to bring back the Dragon Race again, he was using Capitano like a puppet for his grand scheme

I think personally natlan story is far from over,and i hope at least hold till summer next year,its interesting,and there is something mysterious about our saurian companion,i mean a hybrid between a dragon and human, sounds to me like a rise of new character in natlan maybe a future pyro dragon sovereign,like neuvelette,i honestly wish we get a character like neuvelette i would definitely 💯 pull for him,if i know that from the start if hoyoverse actually cooking a new pyro sovereign character, definitely i would skip mavuika and capitano,but mihoyo is good,smart idk i wish i'm right,but i used to disappointment 😞
The dragon sage secretly manipulating mc by being a npc guide that not even pyro archon knows. Maybe the dragon sage was manipulating human to make ochan looks like a tyrant and dislike him.
