  • I have replaced several Differential and transmission assemblies in the C6 corvette but for some reason never Just a differential by its self yet. Watch and learn with me as I discover what is in a C6 Chevrolet Corvette Differential.

This is the best mechanic video on UA-cam right now. I’ve saved so many of your videos for when it comes time to replace things on my c6.

What size and thread bolt did you use to take the flange off to get to the pinion gear? If you know that is.. lol

So i'm going through this right now and have all 6 bolts out of transmission but I still can't seem to separate the 2. How difficult was it to part the 2? I have tried using a pry bar and still can't seem to get them apart. Is it the seal or RTV sticking?

Are any of the parts rusty? If so it could be the line up pins. Is it not separating at all? Did you disconnect the shift linkage?

I have a question ? I've seen and follow your videos and was wondering if you can help me out. I was just told from auto zone that I have a sensor issue possibly the transmission of the gears and thought Maybe you can guide me as to is the sensor inside or out? Thank you

So I’ve found an 06 C6 that is super clean with 48k mlles, everything on it seems to be fine but it rubs/makes noise when making a hard left turn. My local mechanic looked at it and said it needs a new rear diff and it has way too much play in it. GM seems to have cancelled these for this model/year. I can find some on eBay. Is there a possibility it could be rebuilt or should I just have it replaced? Where are you located?

I'm in southern south Dakota, I'm sure I could rebuild it but I'd have to see it first.

People hack C5/C6 diffs because they don't have the very large collection of proper tools.

So you never heard of a Factory service manual? Easy to read step by step. Sad.

Ya my 25 K mile c6 rear diff is making noise............TOTAL FUKN JUNK!!!!!

Did you ever get it resolved? I’m looking at one now that I’m told the rear diff needs to be replaced. It rubs/makes noises when making hard left turns. GM doesn’t seem to offer the rear diffs anymore for these so eBay seems to be the only option. Debating on purchasing because it’s a low mileage C6 and everything else is in great shape

@@83MDANIEL I did. Kept changing out Diff fluids, and finally found one that had a high end additive to stop the chatter.
