My 99 had a very light weep of a leak. I cleaned it up, brushed off the paint. Then I covered up the the entire component with JB Weld, leaving the dipstick tube free of epoxy. Motor has 114K miles on it.

Thanks for the video. Must feel good to get this done. Have the same problem with my 99. Good job.

Thanks. Yeah, it's been nice not leaving marks everywhere... until the front crank seal blew out earlier this week! I guess that's next!

Do you have to worry about debris that might be on the inner part of thr oem adapter? My nut came loose on me and almost completely came off. I got down wiped it up with a rag and reinstalled thr nut for the time being. Still leaking but not real bad. Thinking about getting this adapter to completely finish the job.

Dude how on earth did you get the dip stick tube out? I spent almost 2 hours just trying to get mine out and failed and now i’m without a vehicle because I already got the nut and o ring out.

@tlewis5590 I’m sorry I didn’t see this sooner! The inner part just drops into the bottom of the oil pan until some poor soul is stuck taking it apart in the future. I’ve had no issues out of it so far.

Having done a ton of US machining with my business, they should be put in jail for charging what they are for what that is...

If someone else had taken the time to design and perfect an in-frame repair like this, they'd be free to charge what they want for it, too. There's designing, testing, failing, re-designing, contracting a machine shop, insurances, etc that all factor into these things. Compared to the alternative of pulling the engine to drop the pan and repair it, the cost isn't that bad... but when we buy parts like these, we're paying for a lot more than just the cost of materials.

The kit that is available on amazon for 46.99 is EVERY BIT as quality as the overpriced unit used in this install

@@raysheree3018I saw a video that someone bought the Amazon one and the gaskets from the other expensive brand and it worked great
