From all my heart i want to say thank you! I had this problem in the morning, so i went to a specialist and he wanted to charge me a fortune just to take the part out. i saw your video and i took it out myself. tomorrow i will just buy the part and also install it myself, can't even describe how much I'm happy .. and all thanks belong to you and your great video :)
Did it work??
I know I'm like 6 years late on this one, but thanks for the well informed and presented video. Subscribing and coming here 1st for my next project. Great job!
Very informative and from a no BS standpoint. Genuinely appreciate the walk through.
You surly deserve a thumbs up and great step by step to show how things work and what has gone wrong at the end of food chain.
Thank you for taking the time to put this video together! It absolutely solved the problem with my wife's 2012 Acadia Denali and saved a ton of money doing it myself versus taking it to the dealership. Keep them coming!!!
Great job with the video. Liked the way you conformed that the motor was actually bad before you replaced it. Looks like you have great customer service.
Dude you helped me out so much! I had the exact same problem and didn't even realize that it was 2 actuators. Before watching this video I had already went through the agony of changing the one on the passenger side. Thanks!
I have a different vehicle but I found the problem within a few minutes after watching this. Thank you!

No problem! Thanks for watching!
CapricornGoddess BeastMode thank you friend the video helped me.You saved me $245".
Same here they wanted to charge me $776
Great video - very thorough... AND... we got to see inside a faulty Actuator !! :)
Good explanation of blend door operation.
Awesome to also see you do the Calibration using an OBD device.
Intelligent man, Thank you! 9:12 That's how I refer to my vehicle with all it's problems.
GOOD JOB MAN. RESPECT. I'm gonna check my Acadia tomorrow and see what's up. But I'm sure it's that AC actuator. Thank you brother. Keep up the good work
I wish to thank you ,I change the one on the passenger side, still had the problem. Your video is the only one I saw which showed one on the driver side A/C working great.
Thanks for the video. I was looking for the location of the driver-side blend door actuator for a 2010 Buick Enclave, and your video nailed it.
This guy is great !!! Explains everything perfectly....Once my ribs heal up and i get get under the dash , im fixing my avalanche !!! Thats man !!
+R Miller Thanks for watching!
Thanks for a great video. Top notch. Watched at least 10. Too bad I didn't find yours first, woulda been done. Cheers
Good video, no BS and straight to the point. Nice job!
Awesome video-very descriptive and helpful. Thank you!
+Mark Savage anytime brother!
Hello there. I replaced this part on the passenger side (as this was the side blowing hot air), thanks to your awesome video. However, I am still have hot air coming out. When I turn the fan on "auto" it gets slightly cooler, but never cold. We've had the system recharged recently too. The car is a 2008 Acadia.
Can you provide any insight or where I would go to isolate the problem?
Thank you!
What's up Mr. Leek long time !!! 🤣 Trying to figure out why my heat is blowing cold on driver's side and good on the other and saw your vid . So I watched and this is probably my problem . You seem calm in this one Lol 🤣🤣 Great vid !!!!
I have the same problem with my Buick enclave 2010, you nailed it with your video. thank you, can't wait to do it myself. God bless you
+Carlos Fernandez thanks for watching brother!
Truly great video! took the time to go the extra distance and show us how to and what to look for.. thank you. keep them coming
Well done.. You made me laugh with the side comments. Good stress reducer man.. Took a look at my gmc yukon. similar problem. Really helpful.. Thanks...
Very Good Video !!! I came to this video to troubleshoot my car's AC. I have this same problem in my KIA Cerato 2014 model with the dual climate control.
Great walk thru of the problem and solution. thanks!
God bless you, now I can solve the same problem with my 2008 Ford Explorer.
+HAITHAM AL-ZAYED Glad I can help. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for doing the video! My 2011 Acadia just had one actuator changed for moving the flaps done 3 months ago. Now it looks like this Blending Actuator motor is gone. Well it's at the dealer right now. At least they won't be able to pull the wool over my eyes and try and BS me.
So as a followup the dealership couldn't even get to my vehicle stating the shop was too busy to look at it. I huffed and puffed, and they were offering me a loaner car. Meanwhile, I was so happy. This meant now I could do the repair myself. So I got it home and fumbled a bit with the plastic pins which hold the under-dash plastic cover. But when I got them off, I turned the knob and yes! The same as the video, I had AC again flowing from those vents. I ordered the part from rockauto.com which ended up being $100 less CDN from what the dealer was going to charge. One thing though, when I opened it up on the bench there was no evidence of a circuit board fault. No smell, or obvious burnt resistors. I am hoping now that it wasn't something stupid like a fuse because I never checked that.
Great Video! Thanks for help! Helped me with my 2012 Enclave. I subscribed.
Thanks for posting this video as it really helped me get started on how to fix my 2012 Acadia dual zone system where both sides were stuck on hot and I kept hearing a clicking sound every time the car started up. Few additional things I learned that might help others. The drivers side actuator is removed/replaced exactly as this video describes. On the passenger side there is actually 3 actuators and temperature blend is the hardest to see and hardest to replace as you have to remove the lower side panel on the center hump to to fully see it and remove it and it is very challenging to put back in one of the top screws as there is very little room. Luckily my 17 old daughter has long skinny fingers and was able to start the threads for me. Good luck if you have fat hands and/or short fingers.
As FYI .. the actuator you can see on the center hump from the glove box controls the mode and the one above the HVAC Blower fan controls the the re circulation function. Unfortunately I had to replace 3 of the 4 in my GMC as both the drivers side and passenger side temp. did not move at all re-circulation actuator was the one causing the clicking as the gears were stripped.
Hey Chris. My driver side AC is blowing hot just like in this video. Could u please tell me if I need to buy the actuator that says main on it or the re circulating actuator or the temperature actuator? There's three for sale and I don't know which one to order. Please Lmk. Thanks
Thank you! You just saved me some money; spot on and most helpful. Thanks!
Excellent video bro! Very informative and much appreciated! Keep up the good work!
Great video plus I now know where the driver’s Side actuator is located on my Buick Enclave. I just need to figure out how to remove the panels to access that area on the driver side so I can replace my actuator. Hopefully it’s just a case of been snapping some panels.
Pretty thorough, clear explanation. Thanks

Thanks for the video. I bought the new actuator but I can't take that side panel off. How'd did u do it
Thank you so much!! I was able to fix mine fast thanks to your video!
Thank you. Told my wife it smells like ass in her car. Got pissed at me, but now you explained it!
Hans Ghekiere 😂🤣
The dealer would rather go the long route and take off the whole dash so they can say they tinkered with all of the actuators. It’s unfortunate on what grade of plastics were used making they modules. Most of the “failures” are cog gears that have cracked from 5 years of age and/or heat if you live in the desert Southwest like I do. They sell aftermarket metal cog gears that spin the actuator chuck because that gear is usually the gears that fractures first. Also what most everyone including me is that if your battery dies or you let car go dark is that you need to go through a quick calibration check to be sure that all actuators are in their correct positions so the hvac controls monitors them correctly so they don’t go ape shit and each vent speed out whatever air temp that it wants because it doesn’t know any better. I barely ever mess with my controls but it rained really crazy a few months ago and I needed to keep the moisture haze off the interior windows and that’s when I found out something was jacked. Oh well I learned something new about newer car technology as I would never pay a dealership a couple grand to do all that unnecessary labor
Thanks Man! Wasn't sure where to find the driver side actuator. This was very helpful!
Anytime bro
@@Leekautorepair thanks for the video ... hey could u please tell me if I need to buy the actuator that says Main actuator or the one that says Air temperature actuator. Lmk. Thanks
Appreciate the help my guy.
No problem bro
excellent explanation, perfect hands on tech
My hat's off to you thanks for knowing your stuff making it clear making the video. I hate to sound like an old man but if you could just take her back on the profanity.
Other than that. Thank you so much.🙌💪
Great video now I know what to look for. Thanks dude
well done sr thanks for your help is working now
Great video. Thank you so much!!!👍
Thanks for the video, very thorough👍
Hopefully this is the problem with our Acadia, its near winter time and its the exact opposite problem, heat only on the drivers side vent, and cold air on the passenger side vents. Great Video
Thanks for watching!
@@Leekautorepair what type of scanner are you using? it's baddass!!!
Good video, just to give you guys a heads up if you haven’t replaced your actuator, I just finished changing the passenger side actuator and now the driver side is blowing hot air. Don’t know why is that but to give you all a heads up
Good video leek. keep them coming.

+GEORGE SON Good job!!!!!! You just saved yourself alot of money. Thanks for watching brother!
Nice video bro! I’m having an issue with my Infiniti Q50 where the driver side is slightly warmer than the passenger side. I’m going to check where my actuators are, thanks bro!
Very informative! What's the issue when the front doesn't blow cold air but the rear does. My vents switch over when I channel through the flows... Floor, defrost etc...
That was very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks for the video! I am having the same issue but with heat. 2012 Tahoe No heat unless at 90. Dual climate
Thanks for this video. You are a life saver!
I just had this issue on my 2013 Lincoln MKX, my nephew checked it out and of course tried to explain this to me, he got it working again but told me that i would eventually have to either replace the actuator
Thanks for the easy fix. !!!
"Dont smell it to much shit will make you throw up" bro your funny as shit I like this type of mechanicing sounds me cussing the piece of crap stuff 🤣
Great explanation and how to video.
The actuator could also be out of range. Sometimes you can ohm out pins 9 and 10 and 7 and 9 to re calibrate. But since this is for a customer you are doing the right thing.
What do you mean by ohm out
Great video man. I appreciate ya
Very helpful.. You are very knowledgeable.. THANKS!!
Exact car, exact problem. Thank you so much!
Thank you sir
No problem
what else could it be if acuator has been replaced. great video i really enjoy watching and learning from them
+elrudo81 Give me a short description of the problem you are having......
Leekautorepair cold air is blowing from driver side hot air was blowing from passenger side . took it to the dealer they said it was the acuator replaced it. but passenger side continues to blow hot air while driver side is cold. its a 2010 acadia
Having the same problem! left side cold while right side blows hot in my 08 acadia! any clue as to why that could be?
Hey, I have the same problem. Heat coming out of the passenger side and cool are on the driver. Driver side is doing what it's supposed to do. Found the passenger actuator and it moves when I change the blower direction, so is that still the case and need to change?
Did you see in the vid when I removed the actuator and moved the blend door manually?
Thanks man appreciate it
Amazing Video
Good stuff! Thank you for the detailed video!
Thank you for this video! Very helpful!
Question: this was happening with my Acadia for about a week, and now when I turn on my air conditioning, it blinks three times. Could this blend door actuator cause the 3 blinks?
I’m gonna replace the actuator and hope for the best, but I wasn’t sure if it would cause the AC not to work at all.
Great video! Thanks for the help!
I have this problem with my Cadillac ATS 2013 not sure what the problem is. Thanks for the vid. I can’t find any video on my car with this problem.
Where are you located? If your in my city I’d like a good detailed mechanic like you!
I'm from the philly area
I have a Chevy trailblazer 2008 with same problem...only difference is the passenger side is just a little cool and driver side is warm....it is not very cold on the passenger side but it is noticeably cooler
GOOD LOOKING OUT BROSKII!
Thank you for the video just wish u would of said the next step if it was not the actuator than what
Thanks 😃. Helped my dad a lot!
I'm the man! Haha thanks for watching!
Great video my issue is that I can’t get hot air to blow anywhere but the front facing on driver side all other vents blow cold air even with ac off any ideas?
Great video, you explained in 13 min what GMC techs could diagnose in 13 days
+Richard Veazey Haha lol......Thanks for watching bro!
Same problem here the only difference is that mine is a Chevy Impala. So could it be the driver side actuator on my Chevy?
Thanks for sharing
i have a similar prob. my driver side just isnt cool as the passenger side. it can go from hot to cold. the passenger side is just colder. can u help? its no big deal untill its 90 degrees
Great video!
How do you recalibrate the actuators manually?
Great video. thank you
Yo man great vid God bless
thanks brother!!!!
good job thanks
Congratulations
Hey I was wondering what you would do in a situation if the cold to hot flap doesn’t turn at all I tried to use some slight force but it seems to almost be stuck in sense. The actuator it self works but flap won’t turn to hot so I only have heat in half of the vehicle
Does it kind of smell like something is rotten? If so i have the same problem with my 2011 acadia
Dam leek when i sub to your channel not long ago I think you had between 500 to 700 sub now at 4.2K building steam. Keep it rolling
+CAPTSTANLEY51 Yup omw to 5k thanks to u guys!!!!
OMG. I think this is my problem with my 2012 gmc acadia. thank you. Now I need to find someone trustworthy to fix it
Just had my alternator on 12 Acadia replaced today, now I am having this problem, could it be from changing alternator
good video man
What is the part number because I'm having the same problem thanks for the video
I had same problem on 012 impala. I replaced driver side actuator and worked good for like 4 weeks then I heard a pop and started blowing hot air.
Wonder what I did wrong or was it a defective part...?
are passenger side and drivers side the exact same part number
Thanks
