    From all my heart i want to say thank you! I had this problem in the morning, so i went to a specialist and he wanted to charge me a fortune just to take the part out. i saw your video and i took it out myself. tomorrow i will just buy the part and also install it myself, can't even describe how much I'm happy .. and all thanks belong to you and your great video :)

      Hello there. I replaced this part on the passenger side (as this was the side blowing hot air), thanks to your awesome video. However, I am still have hot air coming out. When I turn the fan on "auto" it gets slightly cooler, but never cold. We've had the system recharged recently too. The car is a 2008 Acadia.
      Can you provide any insight or where I would go to isolate the problem?
      Thank you!

    Thanks for doing the video! My 2011 Acadia just had one actuator changed for moving the flaps done 3 months ago. Now it looks like this Blending Actuator motor is gone. Well it's at the dealer right now. At least they won't be able to pull the wool over my eyes and try and BS me.

    • @dagrim7666
      @dagrim7666 5 років тому

      So as a followup the dealership couldn't even get to my vehicle stating the shop was too busy to look at it. I huffed and puffed, and they were offering me a loaner car. Meanwhile, I was so happy. This meant now I could do the repair myself. So I got it home and fumbled a bit with the plastic pins which hold the under-dash plastic cover. But when I got them off, I turned the knob and yes! The same as the video, I had AC again flowing from those vents. I ordered the part from rockauto.com which ended up being $100 less CDN from what the dealer was going to charge. One thing though, when I opened it up on the bench there was no evidence of a circuit board fault. No smell, or obvious burnt resistors. I am hoping now that it wasn't something stupid like a fuse because I never checked that.

    Thanks for posting this video as it really helped me get started on how to fix my 2012 Acadia dual zone system where both sides were stuck on hot and I kept hearing a clicking sound every time the car started up. Few additional things I learned that might help others. The drivers side actuator is removed/replaced exactly as this video describes. On the passenger side there is actually 3 actuators and temperature blend is the hardest to see and hardest to replace as you have to remove the lower side panel on the center hump to to fully see it and remove it and it is very challenging to put back in one of the top screws as there is very little room. Luckily my 17 old daughter has long skinny fingers and was able to start the threads for me. Good luck if you have fat hands and/or short fingers.
    As FYI .. the actuator you can see on the center hump from the glove box controls the mode and the one above the HVAC Blower fan controls the the re circulation function. Unfortunately I had to replace 3 of the 4 in my GMC as both the drivers side and passenger side temp. did not move at all re-circulation actuator was the one causing the clicking as the gears were stripped.

    The dealer would rather go the long route and take off the whole dash so they can say they tinkered with all of the actuators. It’s unfortunate on what grade of plastics were used making they modules. Most of the “failures” are cog gears that have cracked from 5 years of age and/or heat if you live in the desert Southwest like I do. They sell aftermarket metal cog gears that spin the actuator chuck because that gear is usually the gears that fractures first. Also what most everyone including me is that if your battery dies or you let car go dark is that you need to go through a quick calibration check to be sure that all actuators are in their correct positions so the hvac controls monitors them correctly so they don’t go ape shit and each vent speed out whatever air temp that it wants because it doesn’t know any better. I barely ever mess with my controls but it rained really crazy a few months ago and I needed to keep the moisture haze off the interior windows and that’s when I found out something was jacked. Oh well I learned something new about newer car technology as I would never pay a dealership a couple grand to do all that unnecessary labor

    I had same problem on 012 impala. I replaced driver side actuator and worked good for like 4 weeks then I heard a pop and started blowing hot air.
    Wonder what I did wrong or was it a defective part...?
