    Obviously you have to shampoo as well, co-washing is for in between shampoo days

    My hair is high porosity. When my hair is dry I have to add more moisture especially after I wash cause it's starting from scratch. I use thick moisture glosser & hair grease when it's pressed out & I use a thick leave in conditioner & grease when it's braided.

      I know some people shampoo, conditioner and shampoo again so they make sure the product is all gone and it’s more moisturized. I’ve been planning to do that because my hair is also high porosity but I think it’s mostly bc it’s kinda damaged and I’m learning to add moisture and protein.

    Because I do onion juice treatments every week I wash my hair at least once a week but recently I started doing the treatments twice a week all while keeping my natural hair in braids. Doing it twice a week means I have to wash twice a week. Afterwards I grease my scalp with sulfur 8. My braids was done with blue magic. My hair goes weeks without having to be remoisturized because of the grease. The only thing I be having to constantly renew with moisture is my roots because that's the area I focus on the most when washing the onion juice out. A lot of time I have to wash my hair before the treatment because we all know that grease repels things

      How have the onion juice treatments benefited your hair/scalp? How long have you been using them? I've considered giving them a try and just wanted to get feedback on someone's experience.

      I had this same issue! I rarely shampooed, now I shampoo at least once a week and cowash if I need to. My hair is very very coarse and dense, so I thought more heavy products were better, but my hairs thriving with lighter stuff

    I use sulfate free shampoo on my scalp and make sure the length is slathered with my co -wash or cone free conditioner.
    I use sulfate free shampoo on my length once to twice per week following a hot oil treatment. Once every two months or so I’ll use a stripping shampoo.

    Are used to not cool wash, but due to the climate change, my hair, cannot take shampoo not even sulfate, free, moisturizing, shampoo, or silicone free shampoo my hair has been extremely dry even with a deep conditioning there has had no change in my hair until I started co-washing again there are really good co-washes out there but if you are just cold washing with conditioner, that is not good for your hair You can get your hair just as clean with a co wash as shampoo co wash has saved my hair another thing our hair is not as dirty as a lot of people like to believe some of you guys need to really reevaluate your products that she used to style instead of focusing on just the cleansing because back in the day we did not need to shampoo our hair often I do understand with the times that we are in it is natural to cleanse with some type of cleanser but your scalp is not always as dirty as you may think you know when your hair is dirty, you can smell it

      If your hair is that dry, maybe look into protein treatments? I'm don't know much about them, though. Also, I do find that oils help my scalp a lot more than conditioner and especially when paired with a satin bonnet. Don't know what you've tried but I hope that helps

      You probably have hard water build up or product build up. Just use a clarifying shampoo with chelating every 4-6 weeks and continue your cowashes if you want. Once you do that a sulfate free shampoo shouldn’t be as drying

      @@Neesha242 I appreciate the help from everyone but I don’t need it because this is just what works with my hair. Everyone has different hair and different things work for different people hair no I do not have hard water. The point of my comment was we went from never washing our hair to washing our hair like crazy. in a winter I cannot wash my hair with shampoo, but in the summer I can . in a winter I can shampoo my hair every two weeks .I said, I use use cleansing conditioners. I use products that say cleansing conditioner, not regular conditioner. And I will also say this as your hair gets longer, you’re going to realize when you probably don’t need to shampoo as often as you think. And believe it or not, climate plays a big part in how your hair does, you can believe it doesn’t all you want to. I guarantee you you’ll find out

      @YouKnowMeDuh Рік тому +10

      It's not so bad if you always shampoo before you condition. BUT, for some people, such as myself, putting conditioner on the scalp is a poor idea. Scalp just doesn't like it. Gets itchy whenever product is on it and stays on it, and conditioner does leave a residue on the scalp. If your scalp can't stand having anything on it, you will know. You just need to pay attention :)
      In my case, I can't wash my scalp too often, get any sort of product on my scalp (whether it's a cream, oil, or conditioner), or allow too much sebum buildup or my scalp gets angry at me. My scalp likes plenty of room to breathe.
