Can't thank my supporters enough, the only reason why I can do this. Can't express how happy I am to be able to provide all this for free. I learned everything I know from free information online, so I can't see myself charging for any of this.
Thank you SO much for these videos. You are single handedly one of the main reasons I've been able to learn Octane in C4D as well as I have. Genuinely so so grateful. God bless you and I hope you're doing amazing!
Dammit NewPlastic! I’ve been using Octane for 4 years and been wating for this explanation the hole time! SOO much is being clarified if feel I’m having a divine experience 😂. Thank you so much for this series!
it's about time someone did the nodes speedrun, thanks man, it was much needed to discover new ways and workarounds (in theory at least, I like thinking about my node setup beforehand), normally I have a limited workflow due to crashes which prevents me from trying, frustration gets real haha, so thank you again for this ❤🔥 I have a small note regarding the Image Texture node, the gamma slider works the opposite way because it's used to cancel out the applied curve, it defaults to 2.2 so it's easier to import non-linear textures (like illustrations from illustrator, or package designs) however, when using ACES, there's still a slight color shift, so instead of using the linear-rgb with the gamma slider, I chose the sRGB from the menue and that produces more accurate colors imho
Yup I know about the inverted Gamma, decided to not go into explaining it tho. But interesting note about the sRGb/ACES thing. That's very weird, honestly, it's all a wild west. I think the best practice is to know your tools enough to know what works for you. Thanks for watching and thanks for you support!!
Dude!!!! I was actually looking for a little guide for Octane nodes to expand my palette and then you post this. This is awesome, keep up the great work!
8:00 the scaling works if you scale in the Coordinates tab of the cube (or switch to object mode instead of model mode and scale. it changes the scale wich is normaly at 1)
@@NewPlasticabsolutely! learned a lot here but really looking forward to part 2 or 3 where you dive into the more advanced once :D thanks for your videos!
Awesome, thanks so much! Naturally, I need to ask if you'll do one for Redshift as well. Because every time something awesome and free pops up online, we have to immediately ask for MORE. Before even watching.
This is incredibly useful. I've been using Octane professionally for 10 years, and even helped write some of the help documentation. However, even in just the first 5-minutes, I learned a fair amount. Any news on part 2? Or is that already posted up?
@@NewPlastic that would be awesome. I didn't think C4D was even supposed to support multiple UVs but this guy is using it here in redshift somehow - /watch?v=OXEF-yVYg5Q&t=182s
Thanks for the fantastic content dude! 👏😍After 9 years using the cracked version 3.11 (unfortunately the conversion from pounds £ to real R$ is a little unfair 😪), today I was finally able to purchase this little monster. Your tutorial will fit like a glove (= nice!). Again, thanks for the great content (s, and greetings from Brazil! 👊🤝👍
Man, you are so such a great artist, I'm curious do ever added AR to your artwork? I want to try AR in my art, but dont know best tools for it. @@NewPlastic
If the images that you're loading are originally set to ACEScg, then try and change them. But usually I would leave them at Linear sRGB as that's most likely the space of your images.
I just got Octane, and I love it but I am disappointed at how little free info there is on Octane materials. It all seems to be behind a paywall. I haven't watched this yet but I am already getting a good feeling about it.
I cannot stress enough how iconic you are for making all this material. It helps a LOT.
My man Gustavo, here for you dawg
This video will be gold for the next years
Only until octane adds 50 more nodes next year
This is seriously the video I needed for such a long time. Thank you.
I knew it. Made it especially for you brother
Thanks a LOT to you and your supporters🙏🙏🙏, really I can't express how grateful I am, to be able to watch this for free!

I consider myself quite the Octane expert but I learned a lot of small details from these! Great stuff
Yup even I learned a lot from it! Glad to hear it!
finally, a reliable artist's 'explain everything' video.
Haha if you asked my ex, im not so reliable. But I know my ways around Octane!
Crazy the amount of time and work that probably went into making this! So much to cover, bravo!
For real! What up Travis lol!
Thanks boss! Great stuff on your channel!
haha what up Tomm@@tomcoben

Ahhh, good to know! I guess it's cuz it's connected to the UVs of that object. Makes total sense. Thanks boss

Great stuff as always.

Great tutorial !
Great tutorial very useful
You got it!
Just a thing for anyone using the bake texture node in blender octane, don't forget to plug the uv map in the noise or the results will be different
Iconic
Can you explain how to use multiple UV sets? I've got two UV tags on my object and I'm trying to cycle through the UV sets but nothing happens?
Yeah it can get tricky but it's pretty straight forward. Maybe I'll make a video about it.

with respect to image texture node, if we're using ACES1.2 what should be set, "ACES cg" or Linear sRGB will do fine?
If the images that you're loading are originally set to ACEScg, then try and change them. But usually I would leave them at Linear sRGB as that's most likely the space of your images.
so it's default LinearsRGB
