Hi Shelby, I know that you sometimes get tired of people asking you about powder foundation but there really aren't too many people (if any) who are real experts on UA-cam. Other people might know a little bit about it but they do not seem to have real expertise in 1)how to choose, 2)apply it, and 3)tips and tricks. You have all of this, and there are a LOT of us who consider powder foundation to be our first choice in base makeup. We need a guru too, hence we keep on hanging around here🤗😎
I just started using this today and I love it! I am super oily and this really stands up to the oil and looks fresh for hours. My new holy grail powder foundation.
Would love to see you review Maybelline's Superstay, Milani's Conceal and Define, NYX's Can't Stop Won't Stop, Loreal's Age Perfect. All powder foundations!!!
I love it. I make sure my skin is very moisturized first and use a luminous primer. I apply the powder foundation with a brush and then use a setting spray. I love love love it. I’m 53. Normal skin. ♥️
Don’t know how I missed this video, but here I am!! I have dry skin and live for powder foundations bc I hate the way liquid foundations make my skin feel like it’s suffocating. My favorite trick for making it look less powdery and more skin like is so spritz my face with a fixing/setting spray and then.... take a DAMP beauty sponge and press the spritz into the skin. It takes the powdery look away immediately and makes it look like perfect skin. 🥰

You look beautiful. For setting or finishing your makeup, you should try the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder in Diffused Light if u haven't already. ❤

The Jcat Beauty powder foundation I find to be almost better than the MUFE powder foundation. I too used to only wear the studio fix powder foundation when I first started wearing makeup long long ago. But since then I no longer prefer such full coverage. So I use these with a very fluffy brush for minimal tone correction on certain areas of my face and no other base other than spot conceal. But if you haven't tried the Jcat yet , it is lovley. It's drugstore. They did release more shades but they do definitely ox a bit. Still not greatest shade range even with my extremely fair skin with very neutral undertones I rarely can find a foundation that actually matches my skin anyways tho.
I completely agree with the Jcat😭 For powder foundation it has excellent coverage. Mind you i have a loy of dark spots caused by my acne but i am impressed with the longevity as well even with mask on❤️❤️❤️
Oooh I’ll need to look into this one next time I’m at the drugstore🤔 I also recommend trying out the L’Oréal age perfect creamy powder foundation. I’ve been using it over tinted SPF lately and it looks so bomb😭
Great review! I found this foundation to be drying and somewhat patchy around the corner of my nose (I have oily skin). However, I did purposefully wear a black fabric mask over it and it did not transfer! I think it would look great in photos. Subbed!

I love nude by nature powder 😍.. it looks so natural and I have extremely dry skin ..living in a cold weather country .. its the only powder I can wear in a Canadian weather and never looked powdery. 😍
Definitely do the loose powder if you're going to buy it. I've used both the loose, and the pressed, and the pressed was awful, hard as a rock, and seemed to be poor quality in comparison.
I have literally bought it yesterday 😅 so far I like it, but it wears down pretty patchy on my chin after 12+ hours. Looks nice on my skin applied with a fluffy brush, but also covers my blemishes with a sponge. This is my first powder foundation ever, but I'm not mad about it!

Can I recommend the EX1 powder foundation? It sits so beautifully on my skin, so much better than the BM. It specialises in olive skin tones and is an indie brand, but drugstore prices. I don’t work for the brand or know anyone connected to it. Just a fan.
Well it won't be for me 😕 mature skin normal to dry. It looks fabulous on you sweetie 😘 you are just glowing anyway 😊 I've been using neutrogena hydra boost in fair, but I have broken capillaries in my cheeks. This won't cover it. Any suggestions ? This formula is the only one I've stuck with. It's so comfortable. Maybe the hydra boost concealer ?
I have dry skin and to get powders to not look dry and powdery I spray with setting powder and then tap lightly with a sponge so that they seem to meld into one, it is not a perfect solution but it is a much better solution for my dry skin.

I think I'll try it. My skin is normal not really dry or oily. During the colder months I wear heavier moisturizer that makes my skin look quite oily and putting liquid foundation on top feels too heavy for me.
Most times when a brand releases few shades of a products, best believe they have done their market research and know to release the average population range who is more likely to experiment. It is wasteful to put out all shade ranges, only for the product to tank and go out of production. There is sooooo many brands in the market to get upset at something like this....
Very drying and powdery! It also oxides…in my opinion, it’s not even a real powder foundation, it’s a pressed powder…! I really enjoy the Age perfect powder foundation! Much better!
The reason there are limited shades is because it's a brand new product launch. They have to wait and see if it sells at all, and then they will come out with the full spectrum, but I feel the shades they do have cover the bases.
Loreal is soooooo huge. As Shelby said, they own at least half the industry at this point. I can't give them a pass on not releasing a more inclusive shade range. They're intentionally snubbing a chunk of the population.inexcusabke in 2020!
I purchased bare minerals bare pro liquid foundation and concealer and the bare pro compact foundation powder this month - loving it thank you so easy to use and also caviar sticks again on your recommendation - new year new makeup 💕
I think you would really like 'Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Loose Powder SPF 16' because it very much reminds me of bareMinerals Original Powder. It's creamy, buildable and creates a beautiful glow but doesn't contain talc or any other ingredients that can irritate my skin. Give it a go if you haven't tried it already and do a review please! :) xx
Although it's not "luminous" (mica), the previous version of LOOSE Physician's Formula has a creamy skin-like finish. I haven't tried it since the relaunch, but I heard it has less coverage.
I can also think of a few high end powder foundation favs I would love to see you review when you have the chance. Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush (luminous and to me slightly better than our beloved BareMinerals), Make Up Forever Matte Velvet (you mentioned that here but I can’t find a review) , and the Wanderlust Powder Foundation. Physicians formula mineral wear talc free face powder is a luminous pressed powder that is similar to bare minerals original but the shade range is terrible. It is also has mica as well like bare minerals
With the high prices of drugstore makeup, it has really deterred me from buying it. Unless you can get a sale but then again you can get sale on high end too.
I just haven’t tried any powder foundation as I think I would look very dry by the end of the day. I have normal skin but if I powder to much by the end of the day my skin looks kinda like a prunes. Thanks 😊

Yay! Glad I found your channel. I’m switching over to powder and looking for options. I’ve only tried the Mac Studio Fix powder and different Mineral powders and I love it but want to try other brands. Have you ever tried Everyday Minerals? IMO it’s way better than Bare Minerals.

I already tried it and I was not satisfied at all. For older girls it is not good😭It dries the skin out and emphasizes the wrinkles and the pores.

Not usually known, but L'oreal True Match Powder, works wonderfully as a powder foundation, and in a variety of shades and tones!

Why does Bare Minerals foundation get cakey, glom up in pores (like dots) and accentuate pores?
