You are a patient man Jim, you got the camera rolling before morning coffee, my day can't begin before coffee haha. As usual, I learned something, the 30 amp plug adaptor, I haven't needed one before, but for $6 on Amazon, I will order one, better to have it for that one day where I might need it rather than wishing I had one. And the pancake wasn't burnt, it had a nice char on it, around here if you order charred wings, you have to pay extra, so why not charred pancakes. Looking forward to seeing you next week on the livestream with the Canadian Guys 😁👍👍
Patient yes, but then the coffee is triplely good! I saw a guy using an adapter with his almost selfcontained mini teardrop (car pulled). I didn't know they existed until then. That and a 50 ft. 12 guage extension cord and you're good to go in any RV park I think.
@@OldGuyonaBike I also didn't know about that adaptor until today, and I didn't know that a campsite with power hookup might not have a regular plug receptacle. I've placed my order on Amazon, I may never need the adaptor, and I may never need my mini tire air compressor either, but both will come in handy if/when the day comes that I would need them.
Watching you make breakfast this morning, as i sit in my warm kitchen, has me dreaming of getting out there this spring. Its cold here in early March in the Northeast. Im planning on ordering my Excel 2 , and i can practically taste the char on that pancake. Thank you for posting all of these fantastic videos.
I do believe you have mentioned you love coffee. Takes me 2 cups to really get started in the morning. The pancakes were better than they looked. The blueberries were on the bottom and gave the worst of the burnt look. You may have noticed I did eat them all up.
Thought I was wrapped up for the year, but after watching this, I think I'll need (at least) one more short camping trip. That morning quiet time with coffee and breakfast is hard to beat. My Mini Mate upgrades and mods can wait a few weeks.
If you can still get out for a couple of nights... do it! For me, it's all planning and maintenance now along with editing what I have left of summer footage. I'm so glad I took a chance on the weather and got out for this little run.
Great video Jim ! I love the fact you don’t mess around with you morning coffee. Now I am bloody hungry so may as well to cook a similar brunch for the family. I love your videos buddy. Cheers, Eddie
Actually it was not as burnt as it looked. All the dried blueberries sank to the bottom of the batter in the pan. They gave it the dark colour and they were a little cruncy but it tasted fine and I did eat the whole thing.
I was a Boy Scout lol... try to be always prepared. Bought the adapter 2 years ago and this was the first time I used it. I know it won't be the last. The bathroom floor was so shiney that I first thought it was wet.

thanks for sharing Jim didn't have to put up with noisy neighbors had the place to yourself breakfast looked good glad the weather got better hope you enjoyed the day take care see you on the next video
It ended up being a lovely day... editing that video now. Up on the weekend. Quiet.... only the wind and knowing their were 2 graveyards, one on either side of the road going into the campgrpund. I wonder where they got the idea of the name Deadman's Cove? Which came first, the cove's name or the graveyards?
Thanks, they actually weren't too bad. All the blueberries settled on the bottom and made look blacker than it was. The molasses covers a multitude of sins too.
@@yaitsred I hope to do one last coffee run before I put her away. I hope. We usually don't have snow that stays on the ground until the first of Dec.. But, what's usual anymore?
Actually, the dried blueberries dropped to the bottom and were a lot of the dark colour. They were a little crispy but you might have noticed I did eat the whole thing and did not have to scrape off the soft parts. Even I was worried before I atarted to eat it.
It would have to be boondocking as almost every campground is closed down. I winter camped a couple of times as a teenager... first time I didn't like it and by the 2nd time I knew why. Wrong equipment. If I had a snowmobile I probably would do some backcountry winter camping. Don't think it would be with the Mini Mate unless I winter camp in Arizona one year.
Gave up toting cast iron a long time ago. Cold Handle steel pans, use and treat just like the cast iron, and about a 1/4 the weight to tote around. Something to consider. You could actually use a bit larger size pans at less weight.
I've been thinking of getting one... maybe Christmas present for the old girl. I have a full cover for the winter shed but it was always too big to bring... I have the room now for a half coverfor sure.
I need to finish this video, but, do you think I can find the link you sent me??? I can't remember which video it was on, so if you would kindly share it again, I would be most appreciative! Yes, two pans of bacon is excellent!! The campground looks extremely busy, lol! Went through all the notifications and finally found where you posted that link, lol.
Glad you found the links. They were going to close the campgrounds after that week. I'm pretty sure they had nothad a camper for at least a week when I got there. Very nice community campground even if a little exposed. They certainly take great care of it.
Great video! Nice set up you have and very practical. How is it to travel with the trailer, handling, braking? Thanks, ride safe and enjoy the good times!
The trailer has become a game changer for camping. It hurts to try to get up off the ground these days. Getting dressed in a small tent was always a killer. Now, I can sit up, stand up, get dressed and I can carry more cooking equipment. All the difference in the world. Traveling, it keeps me closer to the posted speed. I have pulled at 130 kph/80mph on the interstates but normally I stick to 110 kph/ 65 mph. You are always aware of the trailer. I am more cautious passing, watch out for curbs around gas pumps etc. Little slower starting off from a stop and yes, it does take a bit more braking room so I am always trying to judge that better although I've been able to handle a couple of panic stops quite fine. Cuts my gas milage by about 15% and I'm changing rear brake pads at around 20-22,000 km instead of closer to 30,000 km.
Hey my Friend, Great Video, thank you 🤗👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it.

Here, on Nov 17th, October 12th seems a lifetime ago... but, it is 66 degrees (8.8 Canadian, of course) today .
Haha, I like the reference to "Canadian" temp, originally from Canada myself.
(66 F is about 19 C)
I would love to ride and camp overnight in 66 F... thank goodness for the right gear.

Works well. I would have been powerless without it.
That first coffee...have I ever told you, Jim, that I dream about coffee?? ☕ 😂 Your blueberry pancakes sound good too!

Thanks Eddie. Gotta have my morning coffee. If a vlogger doesn't video making their coffee, is there really coffee?
@@OldGuyonaBike Considering the weather was kinda soggy I wouldn’t be surprised if you had some Baileys to kick it up a notch
@@WindyTherapy In a pinch, a shot of bourbon in your coffee can be quite acceptable.
Look how nice and dry you you are! I do love the sound of rain...
The Mini Mate is not a bad place to get caught in the rain. I've waited out a couple of pretty torrential rainstorms snug and dry.
Ahhhhh…there’s nothing like bacon. I love the smell of bacon in the morning!
At least 5 times a week... breakfast, a day's work for the hen and a lifetime commitment for the pig.
Hehehehhehe.
Yup that pancake was well done. Still a good breakfast.

That's good... for the record the pancake was not nearly as burnt as it looked. All the blueberries ended up on the bottom and made it look black.
Well, the extra crispy pancake provides extra warmth on a cold day...so I've heard lol
Molasses hides a multitude of sins and is a good energy booster.

Turning the burnt side down, then covering the top in molasses evens out the color and also balances the flavors of each... see no problem!

You should try a winter camping adventure with the mini mate and the car this year

Hmmm, I do like my cast iron and weight is not that big of a deal with the trailer. Am curious though. Got a brand name or is Cold Handle the brand?
another great video just a suggestion get a half cover for your bike i have one wont take up any room and it keeps dew and rain off your bike
