It was 7 weeks and 2 days ago when i did not have a helmet on and i was the victim of a hit n run by a semi truck on my 16 ultra. Broken arm, lost my spleen, and i have 15 fractures in my head. The head fractures is the worst of it. When i get another bike i think I'm gonna start wearing a helmet. I'll never tell anyone else they need to but maybe i need to wear one. I really like this style hitch, appreciate you showing it off and discussing your opinions and experiences. UA-cam said check out this video, i wasnt searching for this but I will eventually build a camper for my bike, this is what I'd like to use for a connection. Thank you
@@michaelosmon I 100% agree with your helmet position. As far as the hitch it made a world of difference pulling a trailer. No slop in the ball and tracks like a dream Check out a guy “daves crazy trailer” he has built 2 and is working on 3rd motorcycle trailer.
Not only is there the rotational benefit on turning you spoke of when the bike is leaning. But there is no instantaneous shift or tug, fore or aft, on acceleration and decelerations. Absolute sublime pulling connection. Bushtec trailers set the bar with their renowned Heim connection. Beautiful motorcycle. I am into lights. And lots of them. See and be seen. Safe and happy travels. ATGATT.
The Harley has kickstand with a ton of play, it’s actually (originally) designed to be able to “shake and wiggle” the bike onto a concrete block and be able to change the rear tire. The original design is Harley was with long ride in mind. Part of why I believe they have not gone to led lights. The lights they run can be bought at almost any gas station
I was hesitant at 1st. Though it was a little pricey but after installing it, well worth it. Removes the slack at takeoff and stop. Also tracks a lot better
That's a pretty trick little part. Even if the bike were to have a parking lot tip over the trailer would be protected. At a minimum it may stop the frame from being twisted. Great video.
Good call installing it,, Jason. I've seen videos of bikes getting laid down intentionally to show the difference, game changer. Hmmm, that was your left ear? Next time Doyle is talking trash about ya, I'll have to make sure to remind him to stand to your left, so y'all don't have to hear his BS. Hahahaha. Ride safe.
Heim joints are good, been used for decades on race machines etc, only one possible issue is if your going to tow another trailer, helping a buddy, your stuffed, same goes if your bikes damaged or broken down, trailer needs to be towed by the corresponding hitch. I’d go def for a swivel conventional tow hitch... Nice vid though 😃
I have been picked up on the side of the road before. I carried the old trailer nose then now I carry an extra pin. Could also remove mine and use it or put the ball back on for other trailer. But the “slop” is gone and trailer tracks a ton better. Thanks for your input, great things most don’t think about
@@ronjesse4511 we just did a 16 day tour of Ontario. Hung out with a guy from Vancouver (the wet coast). So we got to learn a few new “slang” words lol. Thanks
inside dimension of 1-3/4" x 1-3/4". The swivel bolt mounting holes should be 2-1/4" apart in the tongue. This is what it called for in the order form and what mine was. Have a feeling its a common measurement. Trailer tracks so much better too!
Just do yourself a big favor and don’t forget the red Loctite on your pin bolt……. (I noticed you did not) Otherwise, you and your trailer will part company. Take it for me, that big nut will not stay tight, and when it comes loose, will give you every kind of havoc you can think of and your helmet will become absolutely essential one more time believe me, you don’t want to see that happen.
Yes most of my installation videos I say but don’t always show it due to videoing. I will normally pull it all apart and do it with no distractions to ensure a complete Job. Thanks for checking I appreciate it
👍 well this system 👍
Good system

Nice! I’ve seen swivel ball hitched but never one of those. Pretty cool!
Wife wanted the best there was and this is what kept showing up. With the dual pivot points it should do it all
Hello Mr. McStache. I guess I use the Torque wrench correct. Yes wheel chuck must be removed. Thank you for sharing this with us. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓
I your that good I need to have you as a guest on my next install lol
Nice, liking all the movement you get.
I do t know if I have the nerve to try it but I bet I could scrape the floorboards and still be good!
@@Mr.McStache It Looks like it should. I am with you about trying out the range.

As a rider it pulls and tracks a lot better. Definitely worth the money
I know you and I talked about a few styles of hitches. I think this will be a good way to keep stress off the bike.
Well you know, it will help if I happen to drop the bike lol
🧐Think if you need to attach trailer to bike in mornings, would need extra cup of Coffee to line up holes .. Neat Setup👍💯
I need an extra cup to get outa bed, wife will be hooking up the trailer 😂
Thats a cool setup. I was scared of how much the bike moved when you attached the trailer the first time.

Nice . But if I was you would keep the ball recever in camper just in case need to pull it with regular ball hitch
That’s a good idea or carry my Mississippi torque wrench so I can put that ball replacement on somebody else’s bumper
@@Mr.McStache shaft size be different . But either way
Thanks for your video. I just purchased a used trailer and was looking at hitch options. This was a great help.

That’s probably why the wife made me get it, in case I drop the bike lol happens more than I care to admit.
They are a good addition for trailered bikes...
Everyone says that’s the best one

Sweet...Kake needs this for Bubbles.
It was an easy change. USA trailer only wanted 200
Mississippi torque wrench? That’s a new one. I usually refer to those as the “nut rounder-offer” or “adjustable hammer”. LOL.
Nut rounder offer I will agree with hammer is improper use. If you are going to pound that the time and get the BFH and beat it to submission lol

👍👍💯 that should do a good job. Great video catch you later brother.
I was going to test ride it down to you but now the tolls will be double because I have a trailer. Can’t afford that
@@Mr.McStache 🤣🤣👍 yeah I hear you.
LOL I do that every day, you know where did that go? Cresent hammers/prybars/fitall
I know it’s here somewhere….
Crescent Hammer

Where I am from we call an adjustable wrench, an Saskatchewan socket set .

I have the same hitch and with it, your trailer is not as likely to be stolen as a ball hitch would be.
I didn’t think of that bonus, thanks for sharing
Doyle is going to sue you for infringing on his dickin around in the shed lol
Only if you tell him what infringement is lol. I did not touch anything he worked on
