I was once a blue belt.... 12 years ago..... welcome back white belt lol... I stepped back on the mats for the first time in 12 years..... I was able to break guard 3 times with these techniques...... I’m now 37 and if I’m honest with myself not in the shape to roll extended periods anymore....... but..... I’m getting my way back, one class at a time, one technique at a time, one roll at a time..... I’m subbed, it’s crazy not to support something like this where the main goal is to aid in advancing “our” skill levels. Thank you sir.
I really appreciate that you show the consequences of making certain mistakes. Plenty of BJJ content creators out there are too egotistical to ever show themselves tapping. Well done, subbed! -Blue Belt who barely started training with people again due to Covid
As a brand new one stripe white belt, I learn so much from these breakdown videos. You are the only one I’ve found that does it this way. Thanks for all the work bro.
That first break blew my simple white belt mind. I've been terrified of getting put in closed guard because: A) My cardio is shit and having to deadlift someone in the middle of a roll is a bad option for me, and B) I was 100% sure I'd get swept the second I stood up. Amazing how simply bending the knees both takes weight off of you and prevents the sweep. The second those feet unlock, his legs will just pop out.
I got so excited when I saw you included the TOZI pass. Even with the variation of using your feet, it is a solid pass and is great for those who have a hard time keeping themselves postured for whatever reason.
THANKS JEDi... this will help me in my next scramble...im in my day 2 of my BJJ journey...and i was test today...i got 2 rounds and trying to survive how to get off the guard...atleast now i have the idea now...thanks! - Filipino White Belt in UAE
Thank you Jedi, that was an excellent presentation with a complete sequence of multiple defensive manoevres as compared to other presentations! Thank you Jedi!
This is SO FREAKING HELPFUL to me as a white belt. I work out at an MMA gym, and we don't talk about breaking guard often - I struggle with it a lot and *hate* the "elbows into the thighs" approach.
Yeah that's a dick move. I've had an extremely new white belt do that to me before and I was so tempted to just say "the internet is wrong, this isn't okay" 😂
literally just got my white belt 3 days ago and rolled with a brown belt today and I couldn't not get thru his closed guard so after class I asked coach to give me some tips on breaking closed guard. ima try some of these out on Wednesday bro thanks for the help
Current blue belt, and I've found myself having to start shifting to standing guard breaks for sure. The "out-in-out" break works great for lower levels, but def need to spend more time breaking using these standing breaks.
Tonight I was taught to do this by spreading my knees for a strong base, hold the belt with arms straight for solid posture and to wiggle back to put pressure on the feet, then push one of their knees down to the side to get past. It seemed easy but I don't have a GI yet so I guess it would have been harder if my partner could grab my gi. So much to learn my brain is exploding! Thanks for the great vid.
hey man, just wanna let you know that your videos really helped me a lot to improve my bjj, you got yourself a fan from indonesia and I aspire to be as good as you :)
Literally been subscribed for 5 days and I honestly think this is one of the best/most helpful channels out there for sure! Keep up the grind Jedi! Love the locks by the way brother, been growing mine out for about 4 years now!
I used some of these techniques early today, and they work well. More so the part about putting your hands on the stomach (body), it makes it hard for them to breathe, opening opportunities down the track.
Closed guard is pretty op at white belt. If you can get it solved, it’s treat disappears for the most part unless someone has a black belt level guard.

The last guard break you showed, I have been using since white belt (black belt now). Try using your outside leg first to pin the leg, after the inside leg clears windshield whipper it past.
New to bjj, cool video, also subscribing because you look like a friend I had when I was 6 years old and when I moved to a new house I never saw him again. You remind me of him.
wow this video is well done jedi, subscribed! ive tried the standing guard break before and a blue belt grabbed my ankles and swept me, any video on defending that?
There's a way from quarter guard that I really like, triangle your legs then put your head on the mat and roll, it's kind of a win more technique since your gonna be close to Mount if in quarter guard but I really like it and try it whenever I get quarter guard
This is black belt quality content.
Facts !!
This is the 10th time I’ve watched this video and used break one on a seasoned blue belt. It worked!!!! Please more easy to learn techniques!!
Hell yeah!
below the knee was a good little detail I have been missing, for guard breaking. Thanks Jedi

Awesome video :) I’m a BJJ black belt based in Australia and I’ve been loving your work lately. Some awesome knowledge here, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mate! Hopefully I’ll make it out there one day!

Glad to hear that 😊
Best close guard escapes resume I’ve seen so far. Thanks! 🙏🏼

Another solid vid Jedi. Congrats on the growing channel! The first guard break is my favorite
Mine to, it’s just too OP!
Thanks, You an OG!
I'm so happy I found this channel! Your videos are so helpful!!!
Glad to hear that!
Thanks!
100% agree. Jiu jitsu freak, I like that.
I tried these breaks on my purple belt mentor as we were rolling. I still got submitted. I did get complimented for thinking in the right direction.
That’s awesome!
I like this detail about turning to the side to stand up on the second one. I’m gonna try it next class
I loooved seeing you do you techniques at the end of the video with an opponent that’s actually trying. Thank you for this video!🙏🏼
I watch pretty much all bjj content creators. I’m finding myself coming back to this dudes stuff more and more lately. Good teaching skills.
Whoa the turning to the side as you stand up is what I've been missing!! Kept getting pulled back into guard. Mucho gracias Jedi 🤙
Get some!
I really like the third break. Never seen it before. I'm a pressure player so that'd be great for my game.
I got so excited when I saw you included the TOZI pass. Even with the variation of using your feet, it is a solid pass and is great for those who have a hard time keeping themselves postured for whatever reason.
Unorthodox but works fasho !
THANKS JEDi...

As white belt i found these very helpful, thank you!!!!
If I can help 1 person deal with this problem I struggled with as a white belt it’ll make my day!
Thanks!!
Easily some of the best explanations on UA-cam right now! subbed
Thank you Jedi, that was an excellent presentation with a complete sequence of multiple defensive manoevres as compared to other presentations! Thank you Jedi!
Thanks 🙏🏽 I put a lot of work into it so I appreciate that!

I love that unorthodox pass. Im gonna practice that one for sure
Bro... I saw one video and I was in. This is great!! Thanks.
Glad to help!
The first guard break you showed worked really well for me. Thanks!
Glad to hear that!
ive been doing bjj for like 8 months now these vids are GREAT thanks buddy!
Thanks 🙏🏽

Yo, great format, efficient, with arrow on details and right/wrong comparisons... and somehow a jason scully vibe. Keep it up man!
Thanks 🙏🏽
He was definitely a huge inspiration for me as a white belt
Great details! 👏
This is literally the most useful thing I’ve seen!
Thanks 🙏🏽

That last guard break was good and thanks for the advice on breaking the grip before bailing
hey man, just wanna let you know that your videos really helped me a lot to improve my bjj, you got yourself a fan from indonesia and I aspire to be as good as you :)
consistent quality practice and you’ll get there!
Thank you 🙏🏽
Easily my new favorite BJJ channel. Awesome content keep it up!
Thanks Party!
That intro got me! Your channel is amazing BTW.
Number 1 and 2 are my go to. So effective. Great vid.
Thanks 🙏🏽

What’s your best technique on keeping the hair non existent? Lmao.. but seriously!?
My secret... I have none besides fixing my hair every 2 minutes 😆
Thanks for the love!!
I used some of these techniques early today, and they work well. More so the part about putting your hands on the stomach (body), it makes it hard for them to breathe, opening opportunities down the track.
Glad to hear that. Shutting down your opponents guard is as important as breaking it
Thanks for the feedback!
As a white belt I feel this will elevate my game tenfold
Saved to my “fundamentals” folder! Now off to FB to join the group!
Nice brotha!
i always hit like even before i watch the video coz i know it's gonna be an amazing content if it's a Jedi vid. fan all the way from Sydney Australia🤗
I see you bringing my videos! Noice!!
Amazing as always my friend!
Thanks Ty! You always been supporting me. Real mvp!
there is a judo submission that works extremely well with the first one it is called kuzure kesa gatame
Thats a position not a submission. You may be thinking of kata gatame
Thanks for these breaks as a beginner I been having a tough time getting caught in guard

Big Homie Jedi with the motivational words at the end 👏🏼🙌🏼 What a guy my dood 🔥
Thanks my guy!!
Dude this is fucking awsome stuff. Clearly explained pros and cons. This is truly outstanding content 👏
This is extremely helpful. Thank you
Thank you for the knowledge! Very thorough.
Anytime!
Mate ! It worked ... thank you
Just thank you
From a white belt
The last guard break you showed, I have been using since white belt (black belt now). Try using your outside leg first to pin the leg, after the inside leg clears windshield whipper it past.
I’ll give it a whirl. Thanks
The third break, is amazing. A black belt at my gym hugs the hip with one arm as he passes, to kill the hip movement
I’ll have to try that next week. Thanks!
Of course!
Great video! Very helpful for us white belts. Thank you!
Thanks fam!
Dam these are great!!!
Great stuff bro. Closed guard is always a pain in the butt :)
I used to hate it with a passion
Thanks 🙏🏽
Great video. Thanks again
Watching this video answered my question in my last comment. 🙏
Hell yeah!
Thanks. The issue I run into with sanding guard break is the my opponent grabbing my ankles. The tall skinny guys mainly
That’ll happen. Driving your hips forward can help stifle that sweep
Well you deserve your subscribe ty for educating us and making us learn faster
You have awesome content. Thanks for sharing!
Guard Break #3 😲😲😲😲😲 Definitely will be practicing that one!!
Surprisingly effective!
It's called são paulo pass or tozi pass. I've been using the Roger Gracie version to smash the ultra flexible guys and it's been A LOT of fun.
Love your videos bro!!! 💪💪💪 AMAZING CONTENT!!! Than you!!!
I had my first leddorm yesterday, but before that i watched this video, and i were able to defeat a blue belt
Great jiu jitsu channel seriously love watching you bro
New to bjj, cool video, also subscribing because you look like a friend I had when I was 6 years old and when I moved to a new house I never saw him again. You remind me of him.
It is me lol
Awesome video. I'm about to use these in an hour!
How do you prevent the person on the bottom from grabbing your ankles when performing the first guard break you demonstrated?
Thanks for the cool videos. greetings from Austria!
thanks dude. these will def help a bunch
Glad to help my friend!
You rock, Jedi!!
Coach, great stuff!
merci beaucoup monsieur Jedi
bro ur so underrated u deserve more subscribers
I appreciate that!
I started doing it, bro! Thanks for the push :).
My coach was trained by zé radiola.
I‘m amazed and feel like I should have started much earlier!
Better late than never!
wow this video is well done jedi, subscribed! ive tried the standing guard break before and a blue belt grabbed my ankles and swept me, any video on defending that?
Te agradezco mucho, me ayudan bastante tus videos! Saludos desde México :D
Just a question: In the first sweep, what's stopping them grabbing your ankles for the silly sweep?
Thanks for the video. For the first one, what do you do when they try to ankle sweep you?
Thanks, great content 👍
5 guard breaks. Ok, subscribed.
Thanks
I started JJ in 04.............still a white belt. You're amazing mate. An hoy from oz. This 'sport' seems so cyclic? No?
Definitely. Oss!
You got 5. I subscribed!
The guard break I use a lot is driving the elbows into the thighs to break the close guard. But I'm gonna to try the stand up one
Good luck 👍🏽
Thank you!
Great stuff.
Got a chuckle from "catch the off guard." Can't tell if the pun was intended lol
That's pretty sick
awesome video. can you show some no gi guard breaks?
Thanks! That’s a great idea.
You can actually do the first and third break in nogi fairy easy
Great stuff there
I love your videos bro!!
Quality content. Had to subscribe 🤙
Ayyye!
Thanks you man helps a lot oss 🤙
Thank you
Great content! Keep it up!
Thanks David!
Can you do a video on best ways to take the back ?
Thanks man.
Ohhh I love the back. That’s a good idea!
Thanks for the support!
There's a way from quarter guard that I really like, triangle your legs then put your head on the mat and roll, it's kind of a win more technique since your gonna be close to Mount if in quarter guard but I really like it and try it whenever I get quarter guard
Excellent
On the first guard break, how do you stop your opponent from sweeping you by grabbing both ankles and pushing you backwards.
the GOAT jay
tapped me so many times in the beginners class XD
