Oh my gosh. You are a brilliant genius. This just about solves EVERY issue I've been having with multiple bujos/collection notebooks/journaling etc for this entire year. I seriously love this. I'm telling you, you are a visionary.

Thanks for showing how you're integrating the bullet journal method into a Filofax. I can see how having designated sections will be useful for projects. Hope this works well for you!

I love the idea of a Filofax! Your layout is wonderful. I've been struggling setting up my bullet journal, because I don't want to take many notes and scratch brainstorming things in it because it breaks up my daily logs. But this Filofax would be so nice for categorizing!

Love it! I moved to a discbound notebook for my bullet journal in July and live the flexibility for collections and adding pages. I plan on keeping an archive discbound notebook to slip older pages into but still keep the year archived. I am loving the vertical dividers for the months. Gonna have to borrow that idea!

OMG! OMG! O M G !!!!!! 1. I ENJOYED this video sooooooo much! It lit the flame of Smile and creativity again, with a flavour of childhood dreams. Love it! Thank you!2. I'm now even more waiting to see this beauty in use. I'm struggling with birthing the GTD into my life, and I think you just gave me the key answers.3. Wow.4. Thank you!5. Enjoy!!!!! :)

Really glad you've done this. It showcases several important sections for organizing and simplifying a business.
I'm combining my Planner Pad and 2nd Bullet Journal (2nd only because I currently have a notebook and the 7ring 5x8 calendar which I started yesterday and the lined and dot grid paper are coming in tomorrow)... by have similar sections to yours in the back, the keys in front and the daily notes between the week spreads. The traditional calendar spread will be used much more like the Calendex.
Watching your videos is like watching my brain figure out how to combine everything I do and wish for in a calendar and creative journal come to life in one carry all. Such a relief after years of struggling.

How exciting for you! I've gained a ton of inspiration from your bujo videos these last few months, but I knew right away that I wanted to bullet journal in a 6-ring binder rather than the typical moleskine/lechturm. I've been using my Recollections binder for the last three months and love it! The great thing about the binder is it really gives you a lot of flexibility in terms of moving pages around and being able to create different sections as your collections grow. I love your vertical dividers; I've been wanting to create tabs for my monthly calendars and I may do something similar to yours! Thanks so much for sharing! I have some videos up focused on using a binder (August to July, I specifically talk about it) if you're interested in seeing some fellow binder-bujo examples! :) Happy journaling!

When I dove into bullet journaling, I went straight for a ring binder. I use a Carpe Diem and I also designed my own dotgrid paper (I used Adobe Indesign) and got it printed and a print shop. I like a little thicker paper, so I used 80# text. I used the monthly dividers that came with the planner, but I'm going to create my own for 2017. For vertical dividers, I got a handful of paint swatches from Home Depot, punched holes in them and use those. I really love the ring binder method...works much better for me than a standard journal.

It's fun to have a "dashboard" at the front where you could put stickies with reminders or little quotes, etc. also a zip pocket to hold stickies, stickers, or paper clips if needed. Great start to your new bujo filo! :)

I started with a Filofax domino and then tried a smaller note book as bullet journal that I put into the slot where you have your pretty pad. I realized that the monthlies and hourlies planner style work best but the dailies are bullet journalish. I love pretty planning inserts so I am going to bullet journal within a nice daily insert. Will share pics once I am fully satisfied.

I'm thinking about adding dividers or tabs for the months as well, as I also do have such a "hybrid planner" and finding the different months in a hurry has been kind of difficult. Oooooh, and I have a tip (not mine, read it somewhere, but I have no clue where it was): To print your own inserts to go perfectly and hustle free into your Filofax, you can use blank Filofax pages. They are good quality and thin, but I'm not sure re fountain pens freindlyhood.

Thanks for the video! Very interesting. I've seen some filofax setups that were appealing to me, but I just love my LTs so much, I don't think I can part with them! Have you tended to write while the sheets were in the binder, or do you take out the paper? I feel like the rings would get in the way (at least on the wrong side, being right handed).

Just watching this now, and it looks like you're not using this in the recent videos, but I had a question for how you had planned to do the Filofax. Since you'll be taking out pages at some point to archive, how will you manage the index without rewriting it every few months? And if some pages are not removed, they would have page numbers from the old page arrangement.

I love the look of your top tab dividers. I have found though, that any sort of page marker or divider that is not full divider width drove me crazy because of the uneven writing surface the narrow dividers create. Happy planning!

    • @Bohoberryshop
      @Bohoberryshop  7 років тому

Totally understandable. For the most part, I'll be taking the pages out of the binder to write on them so this shouldn't be an issue but it's something to think about for sure!

  • @sleepytronart495

Filofax seems very great - somehow it feels very convenient for BuJo, because of how much you can "make it yours" so to speak. Notebooks, of course, can be "styled" your way, but the possibility of putting different mini folders, separators, maybe sticker leaflets and such in it, makes it special.
I have such a huge love for stationery, especially planners, and need to do start organising everything more, but somehow I can't seem to make any planning work for me. :( I wonder if trying Filofax would help, or problem lies in me or something else...

Agreed! I can already tell that I will have issues when writing on the left-hand side of the page. The great thing about the rings though is that I can take the sheets out, work on them, and then slip them back in :)

Some questions.(and sorry if these are answered already - I couldn't find it)
    - How did you cut out the dividers with tabs?? that's great.
    - Can we get your template for the adobe dotted A5 pages?

Hi Rona! I cut out the tabs with my Silhouette machine. And I'll definitely be releasing the template for the dotted pages, just putting the finishing touches on them :)

Hi! I'm VERY new to bullet journaling and have been eyeballing some fountain pens. I'm looking for something with a fine to extra fine nib, but affordable to start out with. I'm on a very tight budget and don't want to spend a lot on my first fountain pen until I figure out if it's right for me or not. I LOVE the Pilot you have in this video, but $130-150 is quite a bit out of my price range. Any suggestions???

Hi Holly! I did a review of two of my favorite starter pens right here: ua-cam.com/video/xT-Iw8x8nE0/v-deo.html
I also highly recommend checking out the Goulet Pens channel here on UA-cam. Brian has a lot of great advice for beginners :)

I think in her bullet journal supplies video she goes through all the different writing utensils she using including the fountain pens. It doesn't include the one shown in this video but if you look up "Pilot Vanishing Point Decimo Extra Fine Fountain Pen" in google it should come up with that pen. Hope this helps!

I wanna have a Filofax(or something similar) so bad. But I don't know any insider tips for templates, holepunching and stuff like that.
There are so cool spots to buy fancy stationery in america and here you have not much and it's so expensive.
And I still don't know if I should use A5 or Personal size :/

the price of the planner ist not my problem. I found some on the cheaper side. My problem is the price for the cute things in my country and the size xD

    • @valedro
      @valedro 7 років тому

+Rayowag I can't decide between personal size and A5. I have a personal-ish sized bj notebook that I write in, which is a bit too small. On the other hand, it's easier to carry around than a bigger planner would be. I'm a bit intimidated by A5's size, but I'd love to have bigger pages now and then. Oh, these first world problems... :)

@bohoberry - Just ask Brian to make us loose leaf A5 TR dot grid paper, so then we just have to hole punch it. 🤔

I'm not sure if I understood that the right way, but isn't the Calendex working with numbered pages? Like, don't you put the page number in little squares in the Calendex? How do you plan to use the Calendex if you won't number the pages? Or did I miss something that you canged about it? :D
Don't want to be rude, I'm just curious :-)

This Filofax came with week on two pages inserts for 2017. I won't be using them, but rather my own paper. The great thing about a ring binder system is that you can add/subtract pages as needed :)
