- After a couple of weeks away from the plot, due to work commitments etc, we have a little allotment update.
We take a look at the fruit and flower garden, brassicas, squash, sweetcorn, beans and peppers.......not forgetting the stunning dahlias and sunflowers in the cut flower garden
Polytunnel is looking a bit bare on one side due to the tomato plant eviction.....but the peppers are doing brilliantly!
Check out my UA-cam buddies here:

The " it's not a plot tour. But is a plot tour" video 😂😂❤ everything looks fab will. The tree cabbage looks amazing. Danny 🌱
Thank you for sharing useful information about agriculture and plantations
It's my pleasure. Thanks for watching!
Wonderful dahlias and sunflowers! Love that lemon queen! The marigolds make the poly tunnel look lovely! Great peppers! 😄👍💕🌸
Thanks Nanou……I will send you some seeds for the lemon queen if you like for next year! 😁💚😁💪🏼🌻
@@theflyinggardener I would love that! If you have some to spare. Thank you so much! You gave me a lovely start to my day! 😄👍😘💕🌸
@@plotno.9 of course! No problem😀
Those dahlia's are gorgeous Will. Your brassicas are flying along too. Those marigolds are certainly loving being in your polytunnel with no competition, the colours are so vibrant. Your plots looking great. Take care 😊
Thanks Bethan ! I couldn’t be without my flowers on the plot for splashes of colour and of course for companion planting! I’m happy with the brassicas this year again too! I’ve got plants for them in the polytunnel over winter! 💪🏼😁💚
Good morning Will,
Your plot is looking fabulous! Brassica's... wow!
Beans... fabulous!
Dahlias... amazing!
Chillies, peppers... wonderful!
You must be so proud?
The powdery mildew has appeared here, too. I had to remove all of my callendula yesterday, which, up until now, had been incredible. Such a shame, but not really a surprise after all the rain we have had!
Have a great weekend, and enjoy your harvests!!
Take care, Annie 🐞 🐝 🌱
Thanks so much Annie.....yes Im so pleased with the harvests .....even the tomatoes have ripened in the shed!!!
Glad to see you back on top, your plot looks lovely. Totally loving your sunflowers
Thanks so much Joy......aren't the sunflowers great?! Really pleased with them this year
Lovely lemon sunflower
Thanks! Gorgeous aren’t they!? The bees can’t get enough ! 😁💚💪🏼🐝
Love those gladioli Will. Been one of my favourites this year. Going to do a tonne more next year! All looks fab even despite the horrendous summer we are having. All the best 🧑🌾
Thanks Jim…..gorgeous aren’t they?! 😁💚💪🏼
I grew chocolate peppers last year and they went a chocolate brown and even tasted a bit chocolatey! Romanesco are absolutely delicious and I love your lemon sunflowers.
Hi Izzy, thanks that’s helpful as I’ve not grown those peppers before. Looking forward to the romanesco! 😁💪🏼💚
Your garden is a delight!
Thanks Cherie,......very kind....how are you faring in your Winter?
@@theflyinggardener cold! But e citing seeing new spring growth popping up!
@cherienaera3751 it will be here before you know it! 😁💪🏼💚
Gladioli, dahlias and that lemon queen are beautiful.
I totally have sprout envy, have never got them larger than my thumbnail.
I am having winter squash pollination issues too. I only have 4 butternuts and 2 autumn frosts, well 🐿️ got one! I plan to hand pollinate to try to get more fruit happening as the window of opportunity is closing. I am also having lower melon per vine count too.
I’m going to need some kalette recipe ideas as they are really coming on well.
Your garden is looking lovely Robin....so much going on!!
From what I understand all peppers change colour and I think the chocolate is a dark reddish brown 👍👍
Brilliant.....thanks Ali !! x
Woo hoo 🎉 wee kalettes. Brassica house here we come 😂. We podded a few borlotti and others omg they were delicious 😋. Squash are looking fab I just started actually getting mine 👍👍. My butternut bush is doing that dropping off 😢😢. Have an absolutely wonderful week Will happy gardening 👩🌾, Ali 🌞🥵🫠🇨🇦
Thanks Ali.......my Baby blue Hubbard came off in my hand so I guess that one is ready?!....lol....I hve left it in the shed!🤣

Looking great, you've got so much growing in a relatively small space! Have a look at horticultural soap for the spray, I've heard washing up liquid can damage the leaves by stripping the protective layer on the surface. You can also use it with neem oil which works a treat against blackfly, allium miner and other pests.
Thanks for the tip!
Love love loved this, really enjoyed the tour! Romanesco is such a cool crop to grow, tastes good too, yours are looking so healthy! And look the brussels are poking out to 🤩 Your sunflowers look amazing, very jealous 🌻 (mine died 😅) Hope you get time to kick back this week and have a relaxing evening! 🌱🤗
aww....thanks so much.....Im looking forward to the romanesco....never grown them before😃💪
@@theflyinggardener ohh even more exciting! I would describe it as a cross between tender stem brocolli and cauliflower 🤤🌱
Loved your plot tour that wasn't a plot tour 😅 Your Gladioli are amazing I love the deep coloured ones, gorgeous ❤️ Sweet William is one of my faves because of the name 🥰 your Savoys and Caulis look really good 👍Your Swedes OMG I'm so jell least you only lost 1, I lost all of mine 😠 Dahlias and Marigolds wow! Are your chilli's Hot Wax? 👩🏼🌾
Thanks Gemma….mini tour! 😂 yeah lots of colour on the plot now with the flowers. Love it! The chillies are hot lemon, cayenne, and little elf ! 💪🏼😁💚🌶️
Will, your Dahlias are stunning. Look at all the heads on your Lemon Queen S/Flower. I always grow a variety called Elite and get lots of heads but nothing like yours. Unfortunately the squirrels have started their gymnastics early this year and are eating the heads which is annoying as I usually get to enjoy the blooms a lot longer than this. Last year one ran off with a whole flower in its mouth which was comical to watch as the flower was bigger than him.
Oh no Wendy!!! Pesky squirrels.......thankfully i don't have that problem.....just many others! lol......the dahlias are lovely but not as good as last year.......I think everything has struggled and been delayed this year with the crazy weather!
Nice to see you back again Will, and your plot is looking good as usual. Have you heard from the council yet about getting another plot? I'm not a chilli expert and I have had no success with growing the chocolate peppers, I have tried two years and the seeds didn't even germinate 😪. I'm growing footling chillies and although not a foot long they're longer than my hand. If it's ok I can recommend Naturally JB, he grows loads of chillies and is a bit of an expert on them, he also recommends chilli chump who really is an expert on chillies, I've never seen his channel but according to JB there's nothing he doesn't know about chillies.
Sorry Will just realised I answered this in someone else's comment, I'm sure you will see it though.
@@lizhodge3537 thanks Liz......sadly its a no from the council!😒
@@theflyinggardener oh what a shame.
Lovely tour Will. Plot is looking fab. Did you ever hear back on the other plot and expanding your garden ?
