It doesn’t just fire up, you can hear them ignite milliseconds apart. In what I can only assume is like a diamond/figure 8 formation if that makes any sense. Basically 2 cylinders per bank at a time. Probably only takes a second or less but audibly noticeable. The sound itself is almost a change of underwear. He let me have a go of it last week and sweet lord it’s fast: but it’s also scary. A two ton car with almost 1000whp all to the rear wheels? 😅😅😅 “Get the back end swinging out son I’m not one of them people I can tell you’re a real driver!!” That I may be but after one little drift, which I didn’t feel in full control of I politely declined and just jumped on the motorway 😅 Thing sound is up there with the best of all time. Although I’m a big fan of turbo flutter. I like things like Ford RS200 & OLD skyline circa GTR32-34’s. As far as I’m concerned that’s where the skyline ends as I’m sorry the R35 is no skyline. It’s a PlayStation on wheels. Cool if that’s your thing but I would rather a super built mx5 with a mad turbo build or a v8 swap: or both 😅. That’s a serious car. Anyone who’s driven a miata with 200whp or more knows what I mean. Anyways that’s my toilet rant of the day over. No offence intended to anyone, we all share the same passion. It’s jus a bit sad that money plays such a big role now. 3-4k for a short time without load won't really harm your engine much. A cold engine hates 2 things equally: -high revs(commonly known) -high load(rarely known) When you drive your cold engine at high load just to keep the revs down, you're not doing your car a favor. Keep it below 2.5k and rather low load. You can slowly ramp up revs and load in the first 15 minutes but 20 min should be able to pin it no problem. Although the engine in the video was warm, the pistons cool down from standing. Wait 3 minutes for the pistons to reach operating temperature again before you do full throttle again. Hope I could clear up some misconceptions and save some engine's.

i mean it depends lol V12 can be tuned either in a luxury car for ultra smooth power delivery or in a supercar for incredible visceral performance, the best sounding cars in the world are V10/V12s with either a good exhaust or even no restriction like the LFA or zonda R

Similar to many Aston Martin exhaust manifolds/headers or turbocharged Amg V12’s like the one you find in the Huarya or S65 Amg . Same reason the N63 and S63 have a different sound. You can swap the S63 exhaust manifold onto the N63 and it will sound the same. If this N74 in the M760i has a single turbo, equal length exhaust manifold, equal length mid pipes, or a single midpipe, it would sound much closer to a V12 you would find in a Ferrari or Lamborghini.
Bmw mainly has exhaust sound through the speakers anyways. Like most manufacturers now. Open a window. Show the actual exhaust. Probably just put it in sport mode and revved again.
My 2007 s65 sounds great with stock exhaust, it’s not mustang loud but i definitely notice looks when I pull out of parking spots, im leaving it stock, nice beamer though
