The goal tally of Messi of 0.79 while also being the best dribbler, passer, playmaker, creator and visionary of his generation (at least) is a once-in-a-lifetime event.
It’s not that deep bro. It is just about moving the team around and having a spectacular team around you that also commands a double team on each player. Everyone on that FCB team could dribble, pass and shoot. Look at Dani Alves, very one footed but was lethal with that foot. You could remove Messi from that team and put a bum in his place and the team would still be epic.
You know many bums that scored 50+ and assisted 20+ while being spectacular in every other offensive stat during that year? There's a reason Barca was focused on giving Messi total freedom to move and create as he feels for 15+ years. Because his football ability provided more value than anyone else this generation has seen, and statistically, more value than anyone this game has ever seen.

They don't consider the conditions he plays in, math can describe this but it will be the same if he plays against cones because of their conditions and they also don't consider physics, field conditions, ball, shoes, what makes it easier, remember math can be theoretical but when you adapt your model to different conditions that's what makes the different results appear, for example in the 60s when the fields, the balls were bad and made the movements more rigid, there were no yellow and red cards and shoes didn't allow to move as fast and smooth and fouls were more common then things change and you won't be able to witness a play like Messi's against Bilbao, you can analyse when Di Stefano scored a goal with his heel, Maradona scoring a goal without an angle against Juve, Pele dribbling Marzukievich without touching the ball or the passes with the old offside rule that made it harder to locate your teammate with respect to the defensive line and giving an assist was much more common. difficult, I think the study is biased towards messi.
So mathematically, Messi would be the strongest entity in the Marvel comic universe..can literally maniplate time through dribbling whilst on the ball, and space by exploiting gaps in opponent defensive structures...the dude is the definition of a god

Every 74 years you can expect another Messi to come along in Argentina. But what are the odds that every 25-30 years a other genius comes along from Argentina (Messi, Maradona before him, Di Stefano in the 50s).
1:09 normally you'd have most players only try to step inwards and control the ball when they're already far into the corner of the pitch and try to beat just the one defender standing in front of them to cross the ball. Then the ball just gets blocked by a group of defenders now gathered in front of goal. Rarely do you have forwards confident enough to slow down halfway and beat every defender now still surrounding them and go straight for goal.......let alone succeed in doing all of that.
