- Part 2. How I make synthetic dreadlock extensions, dreading, crochet method.
Sorry this is late, I had the worst trouble getting it to export from my editing program. That program hates me. :( Anyway!- Hope you find this helpful & enjoy!

I like this! I am still practicing mine and right now the hardest part is keeping the same size throughout the dread, from top to bottom, and not having thicker or thinner parts
Like tapering or just thin spots? Back combing a bit more can help with softer thin areas. To keep the dread from tapering add more hair to it as you go whenever it starts to taper. :) Hope that helps.
@@okayilly when you add in hair for more length, do you just crochet it directly onto the end of the dread you’re working on or do you have a certain method for adding length?
And yes thank you for your response! I have problems with there being, for example, and thinner spot in the dread and in another spot, it could feel like a knot. I’ve mostly gotten that figured out over the past couple weeks I think! I like loose ends instead of blunt ends but I’ve been doing blunt because with having the little loose hair, I find that I end up with it too thin at the end and then get frustrated because I’m a perfectionist and put too much pressure on myself 🫣🥲🤣
@@okayilly also, just realized you do have a video showing you making transitional dreads where it looks like you’re adding the hair into the bottom of your dread by pulling the hair through a hole in the bottom, which I have been trying out so that’s good that I see I’m on the right track at least
Great! I am happy you found that and I hope it helps you. :) You got this! @@R4CHEL__
what kind of loom or whatever are you using to make your dreads on?
It is an embroidery loom stand. You can find them online and in craft stores like Michaels or Joann's.
@@okayilly cool! Thanku!
How would you do a more tapered end? I know you said you didnt really like it but woud you just not make it as uniform?
Just let it taper naturally, it will on its own as you work. Hair tapers naturally to the ends. You can also back comb more to get more of a taper. :)
Thanks for your help 💝
Thank you for this tutorial!
Please help .iv followed ur video and tried to makeone but I just can't get the threads to stay in place once I wrap and pull thru with the hook...what am I doing wrong please?? It just seems to bounce back and then ends up sticking out even more than before lol
Could you explain more? I can't quite picture what you mean. Are you saying the hair sticks out as you make the dread? If so that is normal, just keep working it. It takes a lot of practice, but you will get the hang of it from just doing it a lot. If I am not understanding please explain further, I will try to help you.
Best tutorial I’ve steen. Thank you! Beautiful dreads✌🏽
how would you add length to the dread if you want them longer?
The same way you would add multicolors. Feed the hair in as you work. I don't remember if I have a video up for that, I might. I will be posting new videos soon (finally lol)and I'll make sure to include that in the new videos. :)
Asmr... Creepy AF! 💯 agree 😂
LOL :)
Hi 🙃 are those all 26 inches?
Do you mean the hair length?
@@okayilly yes
@@Libbie.Bullemor 24 inches folded in half per braid of hair. :)
Gosh!!!!!!! This video is the slowest video I ever seen. 🤕🫣
Turn up the video speed under the settings to the right corner of the video buddy.
