I bought my Hamilton juicer almost 30 years ago, still works but cleaning is P>I>A, to take the filter out I need to pile it out with a 1.5 foot long screw driver :( , i am retiring the junk looking for another newer model
I had one of the bigger expensive Breville juicers, but had stopped using it because of the hassle. I fooolishly gave it to Goodwill when I was downsizing! Now I want to start juicing again. I think I'll pick up this one. Thanks for your review!
Most of what I've read states that the amount of cyanide in apple seeds is a safe level that won't cause any harm. I would use Organic apples and take out the seeds if you're drinking apple juice in mass quantities. If you're drinking apple juice occasionally, I don't think it should be a concern. Yes, the orange peel will make the juice bitter, so better to peel it first. Thanks for your comment and please subscribe.
I LOVE my Breville compact juicer! I've given my larger one away. This juicer is easy to assemble and work with. It is quiet too. I like how it's compact and the shoot is large...I love it!
Yes. Soak 1 cup of almonds in water overnight. Drain water. Add 3 cups fresh water to soaked almonds. Place some of the water and almonds together in juicer and juice. Do this little at a time until finished. Enjoy! Please subscribe to our channel, thanks.
Fortunately, yes you can! Cut the pomegranate into four and place in feed tube. Cut into smaller pieces if they don't fit in the tube. Press gently while juicing to avoid splattering, because the juice stains easily.
love it instead of throwing away fruits just juice it. My uncle goes into the produce garbage bin and grabs usable fruits that are thrown away. There are stores where they have one dollar produce- fruits that if they are not sold are thrown away
We haven't come across that problem and the arm shouldn't stop working after just a few months. The general warranty is one year. We would suggest contacting Breville at brevilleusasupportcom and asking them for a replacement.
I love your reviews! Could you perhaps do a comparison of this juice and the larger Breville juice fountain? (Breville JE98XL vs BJE200XL) I would be so grateful! I'm trying to decide between the two, and have watched all your other videos on them and on choosing a juicer, but am still undecided! Thanks!
I started out with the compact 9 years ago. Moved up to the je98xl recently. Worth the extra 50 bucks for the bigger machine. Better design and more powerful motor.
Can you take the shreds of fruit that didn't juice on the initial run and feed them through again to get more juice? The amount of juice seems small in comparison to machines that pulverize everything.
Is your juicer the Breville BJE200XL Compact Juice Fountain 700-Watt Juice Extractor? If not what make and model is it? Are you very satisfied with it?
The safety arm stopped working for me after a few months. It just wouldn't latch on and had to be held down manually. It's almost impossible to juice with it, unless there's someone else holding the safety arm in place for me.
Brookexx Hi Brooke, it depends on your budget - if you can spend the extra $ on the Breville, I would suggest that since it is well built and sturdier meaning it should last longer. If you're on a tight budget, the Hamilton Beach is a good value and will do the job :-)
If you never tried slow juicer you would not believe how dry pulp could be, I used to juice a bag of apples(2kg) in a few juices with centrifugal juicer simular to this one and the pulp was pretty wet, now I cant use that bag fast enough before apples go soft. Juicing oranges is so much better too, no more drenching pulp and feeling guilty throwing away so much juice. Trust me, get a slow juicer, I got some cheap one it was around 150$ or so, I wanted Kuvings or Omega but I didnt want to wait till I save money. I think Breville makes slow juicer too, so get that one.
Some of the slow juicers do yield drier pulp. It depends on how fast you want to juice, I think many people don't have the patience for a slow juicer. The Breville juices very quickly and is inexpensive compared to the slow juicers, so it will appeal to some. I would recommend the Omega J8006 as a good slow juicer option, feel free to watch my review of the Omega :-)
Thomas DeGennaro Hi Thomas, there isn't any way to prevent the food from coming at you. I cut the apple into quarters since I was using large apples. The oranges were also quartered. The feed chute is large so you can leave some slim veggies like carrots and cucumbers whole. Please subscribe :-)
Can it juice broccoli or cauliflower properly? Thinking of getting the higher end Omega J8006 instead, but the price tag is a little too steep for me right now.
+Donatello97 Hi, it will juice the broccoli or cauliflower stems fine. The florets are best eaten - you won't get too much juice out of them . Hope that helps. Please subscribe if you haven't already :)
Hi Suzanne, for wheatgrass, it's best to get a masticating juicer which will give you much better yield. You can watch my review of the Omega J8006 here: ua-cam.com/video/Lm9g9pcZN_w/v-deo.html Please subscribe if you haven't already :)
Renata Milosavljevic You can juice leafy greens in the Breville and get decent results. However, masticating juicers are better at juicing greens - see my review of the Omega J8006 :-)
TheMadamosielle Roll leafy greens tightly and process in juicer followed by a hard vegetable like carrot. Alternate between leafy green and harder produce for best results. Hope that helps! Please subscribe if you haven't already :-)
Hi Mike, you can juice kale in this Breville. However, you will get more yield with greens in a masticating juicer like the Omega J8006. You can watch my review here: ua-cam.com/video/Lm9g9pcZN_w/v-deo.html Hope that helps :)
Yes, wash ginger and cut into 1/2 inch pieces. Ginger adds a wonderful bright flavor to green juice recipes as well as fruit juices. Please subscribe :-)
Hey Brandon, the juice is the actual color of apple or orange juice. I think it looks dark on the video because of the bad lighting job - sorry! If you watch my Breville je98xl review, you can see the color of the juice more accurately - better lighting :-)
I bought my Breville from Amazon 5 years ago and it still works great!
+Inge Scott Hi Inge, thanks for sharing your experience with us. Please subscribe if you haven't already :)
does it juice beets and spinach well?
I bought my Hamilton juicer almost 30 years ago, still works but cleaning is P>I>A, to take the filter out I need to pile it out with a 1.5 foot long screw driver :( , i am retiring the junk looking for another newer model

Likewise. I gave my Classic Jack Lalanne Juicer to the goodwill. This live demonstration has encouraged me to purchase again.

Glad you like the video! Yes, it's a very useful machine.

Do you plan on juicing daily? What kind of fruits, vegetables do you like to juice?

No, because you would taste the bitter orange oil from the peel. I tried it once and it was undrinkable!
The safety arm stopped working for me after a few months. It just wouldn't latch on and had to be held down manually. It's almost impossible to juice with it, unless there's someone else holding the safety arm in place for me.
We'd recommend a more powerful juicer for wheat grass as this breville is not ideal for leafy greens or wheat grass.
Would you recommed this one or the Hamilton-Beach Big Mouth Juice Extractor
Brookexx Hi Brooke, it depends on your budget - if you can spend the extra $ on the Breville, I would suggest that since it is well built and sturdier meaning it should last longer. If you're on a tight budget, the Hamilton Beach is a good value and will do the job :-)
Just the question I wanted an answer to. Thank you for asking it.
Great demonstration.

Is there any way to prevent food from flying back out (besides from covering the top quickly)? And how small do you cut up your fruit and veggies?

Um...I just got this juicer(yay!) but juicing a banana isn't working, but in a lot of recipes it says add banana, any tips?
don't know if u already know but u can't juice a banana u have to blend it and add the juice that u have juiced in ur juicer to the blended bannah
does the clear parts get stained? if so how to clean them. The shoot does not look very sustancial
Not without peeling the orange first
My Breville is going slow, like there's juice where the fiber/pulp droppings - not sure what to do!
Mighty loud, this one. Is it easy to clean?
+twopax17 Hi, the centrifugal juicers are generally loud. It's not hard to clean, takes just a few minutes.
Gracias

Can you make almond milk with this kind of juicer ?
No
Can we make the wheatgrass juice? Thanks !

bestkitchenreviews How would you incorporate that into the juice? Would you put it in first? Thank you in advance

do you not have to turn on the machine before throwing in the produce?
Yes. I believe you should not only turn on the machine, but wait until it gets up to speed before putting in the produce. that's what I do, anyway.
can the juicer do wheat grass?
i love it
Can you just throw whole oranges in there without peeling?
Can you juice Pomegranate?
Can you juice Pomegranate.
can you juice kale???
Hi Mike, you can juice kale in this Breville. However, you will get more yield with greens in a masticating juicer like the Omega J8006. You can watch my review here: ua-cam.com/video/Lm9g9pcZN_w/v-deo.html

Can you get ginger juice with this machine?
Yes, wash ginger and cut into 1/2 inch pieces. Ginger adds a wonderful bright flavor to green juice recipes as well as fruit juices. Please subscribe :-)
does its job but ni fiber, god for leftover do not throw away juice it
why is the juice blacK?
