I saw him guest pose of a national qualifier in Jacksonville Florida in the early to mid-90s. He was in pretty good shape and his structure was insane. He stuck his foot up on my chair and flexed his calf. His freaking calves were just as big as his arms. If he only would have been a good poser he could have won a lot more shows. He was a horrible poser and he often got winded on stage

@@HulktubeMotivation I have been to 13 Olympia's. Starting with the Dorian Yates era I have seen all of the great ones on stage up until now. I was at a show where Dorian Yates and Shawn Ray and flex wheeler and Chris cormier and Paul delay and Mike matarazzo and on and on and on. All of the pro shows back then but specially the Olympia we're just packed with ridiculous amount of talent in great shape when I saw pulp to let his arms were 25 in and his calves were 25. I said when I saw Paul Dillet

I have been victorious in 27 bodybuilding shows class or better. I have also coached and trained hundreds of high-level competitive bodybuilders. The point of all of that is that I believe if I could have trained Paul dalet taught him how to pose correctly and everything else that he could have won the Olympia several time. He was a horrible unfortunately it cost him placements all the time because everybody knew how bad he posed. When you're 6 two or three and a good-looking guy with a beautiful aesthetically pleasing monster Bonnie you should go up there and post slow and hold the poses and show everybody I got this but you don't but he didn't do that impose really fast and herky-jerky.

Dillet never won an Olympia because his presentation on stage was simply non existent.
      It's really simple.
No structured posing routine & no pose holds.
Dillet relied on 1 second poses with NO real transitions from one pose to the next resulting
in him looking just plain awkward.
The best posers of all time in order of actual skill are as follows:
      1.Ed Corney,
      2.Kai Green
      3.Melvin Anthony
      4.Frank Zane
      5.Arnold Swarchznegger
Bodybuilding is not just about muscle size.
Its an artform in its own right.
The best Bodybuilders are stage artists.
Mass monsters are not stage artists -
they are just there for the shock factor.
Sheer mass, sheer density, sheer size,
sheer conditioning and sheer muscle separation will always allow them to win pro shows.
That's what the judging criteria is all about.
      Mass monsters are as follows:
      Coleman, Dillet, Kovacs, Yates, Ferrigno,
      Ruhl, Schleirkamp etc
      You get the picture folks.
      Incidentally, Dillet looks skinny now.
He had the best genetic response to the
cocktail of Roids he was using.
Combined with super hard training and an
excellent diet completed with plenty of good rest between workouts ensured he was a beast.
But he was NOT a stage artist.
Professional Open Bodybuilding would be more popular if it was more artistic.
The classic division is cool, but the open division needs more artistic athletes on stage.

It wasn't asthma simply because asthma doesn't stop your lats from developing, doesn't make your body shake when you flex your muscles and also doesn't make you pose asymmetrically, but there is a health problem who might pertinently describe Paul's symptoms.

And yet Dillet was able to go through hard and heavy workouts at the gym right up until contest day so i don't buy the excuse that he had some kind of physical problem that prevented him from posing. If you can lift heavy weights then you certainly have the energy to pose; I think Dillet was just lackadaisical at learning the art of posing.

@@ryutenmen Thank you Dr, i guess the medical fact that people with asthma that have larger amounts of muscle mass have limitations in daily activities, due to muscle dysfunction, is irrelevant.
Did you also bypass the fact that during posing these bodybuilders are almost severley depleted of fluid, electrolytes, sugar and nutrients that make it somewhat harder to pose, flex and contract their muscles.

I remember in the late 90's before the internet blew up seeing magazines with this guy on it and it just confused you, you didn't know if it was real or some sort of fakery.

In my opinion, he was never an extremely determined individual; had he been highly determined he would’ve erased all his supposed shortcomings and ended up with greater density, better posing, etc. But let’s be clear even the way we see him here, he deserved several Mr. Olympias

And so, the tale endures-a narrative of a bodybuilder whose Herculean efforts were met with an unjust fate. The denial of the Mr. Olympia title to this living monument of muscle stands as a testament to the enigmatic nature of competitive sports, where victory is not always bestowed upon the deserving.

Amazing bodybuilder, a true monster only issues with him is his back, not holding a pose for long so the judges can have a good look at him and posing routine

I wonder if his muscle cramps were due to diuretics. A lot of bodybuilders compete while very dehydrated. His build was amazing, but the stage paralysis was frightening.
