He didn't say he lost ALL his muscle mass. He said PRETTY MUCH ALL. That's two different things. Yes he lost a significant amount, but for his age I agree he's still fit.
Kevin Levrone: "But now he's lost almost all of his body mass", dude still looks better than 99% of people and tons of pro body builders. Absolute beast, no idea why you slander him like that.
@@Luddern Wasn’t it like the starting phase of his comeback? He did look downright average before his comeback if I’m not mistaken Edit: It was the red speedo clip I was talking about, looking at it, he still does seem quite muscular relative to average
Yeap Kevin is in awesome physical condition and healthy to this day .. the dude doing the video not completely on top of it all but he did a decent job for the most part.
A lot of these bodybuilders STILL look amazing! Of course they all lost most of their peak muscle mass, but about half of these men that you reviewed were able to STILL keep some (or most of what they have), when it comes to their physique. Good for them!
But if you take steroids to get into that kind of shape, those aren't "real" muscles per say. That's why the transformation is so big once they stop taking them. Compare a bodybuilder to someone just really strong(and not on steroids, ie not trying to be a bodybuilder) and you see a big difference. I'm surprised steroids aren't straight out illegal because something tells me it's only going to get worse.
I really dont agree with that. Most retired bodybuilders look like a bag filled with sand. Due to obsessive steroid use everything tends to hang quicker than normal.
Dorian talked about that. He had joint injuries. Because of that, he is into yoga and functional exercises. He has a happy life and he wants to spend time with his family
I don't wanna be that guy but he still looks good cause he is still juicing. Pretty much all the guys in this vid who look bad after retirement have stopped juicing and that's why.
@@CaneFu Man you gotta respect the grind. You dont just automatically look like a champion by taking steroids. Takes tons of hard work, dedication and proper nutrition.
@@Big_Ben1988 WRONG, as no amount of "hard work, dedication, and proper nutrition" will give a man anywhere near this kind of physique without drugs. One only need to look at natural bodybuilding contest winners, who are just as dedicated, and compare them to these steroid junkies to see the difference that the drugs make.
The point is, those professionals have a muscles and fat proportions like all other normal going gym people, as they don't get steroids or anabolic drugs.
Obviously when an athlete stops training he loses his skills, When bodybuilders stop taking anabolic drugs they lose all their muscles even if they keep training daily.
This is great motivation for me to start losing some fat. I know that for successful body transformation you must be hard motivated and train really hard, but many people forget that diet is the most important thing. Percentage wise, diet is 70% and training is 30%, that's the rule in my book. My friend made great transformation and lost 35 kg in last 12 months, but he used meal plans from Next Level Diet.

I've got 20 years of bodybuilding under my belt, 25 - 45, quit 22 years ago. The first month or so I lost about 20 - 30 percent of my gains, and the rest disappeared over the following 2 years. The body simply returns to its starting point (since it no longer has to adapt to any given workload) and if you remain active and maintain a sensible diet you would never know that you once were involved in the activity. To make matters worse, muscle burns calories all day long. Fat cells do not require calories. So as I shrink the muscle cells, I am also impacting my metabolic rate. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. Its that simple. Let see if Bolt can still run at his record breaking level. Not happening. So we also have age to combat. As we get older our testosterone levels drop and our metabolism drops as well. Father time is cruel!

Bodybuilding knowledge and experience is my guide with appropriate modifications . I never ever used drugs they weren't worth the eventual cost.
...I think he said in a documentary that his height was one of the biggest obstacles to his winning; especially having competed in the 90's which was the era of the insane mass monsters.
Ridiculous comments like, Shawn ray and Kevin levrone have now lost all their muscle mass 🙄 they are still carrying way more muscle than your average human. Fact is no one can maintain that sort of mass forever, it’s inefficient for the body and your body doesn’t need it. Respect to the past champions.
Dead right, and Tom Prince who "looks like a normal person" now, according to the transcript (7:07) still looks to me like he could have a couple normal people for breakfast.
Gunter was the funniest one. "He didn't keep up with his body and the results are pretty drastic." As he's popping a huge bicep peak at about 9 percent bodyfat in the after photo.
After quitting the juice, the muscles dry off. Mad Respects to Kevin Levrone, he clearly is one of the most natural of them all, hence his great physique till this very day.
No one beats father time. However it's nice for a lot of these guys to have achieved their goals in bodybuilding short of earning Mr Olympia. It's hard for the body to keep all of that training up after so many years.
Man every time I see Ronnie coleman these days I feel so bad for him. Hes basically wheelchair bound now in his mid 50s for going after a trophy in bodybuilding. Greatest of all time? probably so. Wonder if he would change anything not to be in alot healthier shape / able to walk with no problems etc
I think if u showed a picture of anyone in the street 20,30,40 years ago to how they look now ud get the same result. We all get old. Thats life. But these men were great at least one time in there life. Most of us cant say that
The only one I see here who lost all his gains is Paul dillet. The rest looked okay to me. And some of them still looked impressive considering their age and sometimes disabilities.
@@SirManflywell duh. 3 years of inactivity is enough to make the hulk lose his gains. It took me maybe 4 months of inactivity during quarntine to lose almost everything.

I recently saw Shawn Ray he looks really good. You have to remember most of these bodybuilders are in their 50's now. Their approach to the gym is different, they're not competing anymore. That's like asking Michael Jordan to do a dunk from the free throw line at 58.
Yup, trained about 45 years... Finished off around 57... in crazy condition. I'm lazy as can be now, but it's not bad at all. That base built up is real. Maybe one day I'll go back, life is simply good though. You wish the good times could be shared more... The only regret 😉
@@andykerr3803 Why did you quit??? Funny, both my brothers have trained for most of their lives as well. My younger brother has owned the gym we train at since 2017 after the original owner died. He still trains there as does his son who got drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 2021. My older brother is retired and trains at home, but not nearly as hard. It's mostly Bowflex, some dumbbell work and walking a million miles. I turned 59 March 12th and will never quit so long as there's breath in me. LoL
@@tortillasarenotbiceps7622 Well I quit because I live in downtown Montréal. The gym situation got less and less enjoyable. Most gyms were bought up by one big franchise. Once things changed with Covid it was really difficult. I may ho back one day. I'd been planning on refereeing boxing, but everything is so hyped up over money... A young Mexican girl died in an extremely bad pro match back a while. Working out and being active is the best. Did have a lot of good times, the results lasted well 😉
What do you expect? People get old, isn't natural that their bodies change drastically? Most of the times that you've said "and he lost almost all of his muscle mass" they were actually pretty good, with an incredible shape for the age they're today.
Bodybuilding is a 24/7 sport the body must be nurtured continuously to keep it in fine form. These guys have bowed out it’s not a important part of their life anymore. So hey 👋🏼 that’s the way it goes They had their day of fame and reward it’s all over for them. Nighttime stories for their children and grandchildren all that is left.
If drugs were used to achieve those gains a dramatic loss of muscle mass would be expected. And a man’s natural level of hormones would be diminished with heavy drug use leading to many health problems once the drugs are stopped.
Honestly I idolized Arnold, Ronnie , Lee Priest, I still workout intensely , I don't wish any bodybuilder to shrink down drastically because these were the same guys I looked up to. Nobody's perfect and bodybuilders are no exception to that.
At their level, yeah, you’d expect a dramatic loss of mass once they stop. But most of these guys don’t just look smaller, they look out of shape. Like they “let themselves go”. But they’re older now and have other priorities...strict dieting and intense training aren’t on that list anymore.
Respect to all body builders, they go thru a life cycle realize high maintenance is required. Not just muscle mass, your organs needs to keep up the same function/filtration. When they retired, their body is back to normal function and less stressed. This is what so called longevity vs muscle mass.
Those who take steroids and other Chems are lifting more than their natural body is made for. That is the reason they are having so many health issues now and later in life.
Kevin Levrone and Jay Cutler look amazing still they look as a good as an average enhanced 20 something. Ronnie Coleman had a botched back surgery that really set him back. Arnold is in his 70s but is in much better shape then your average 50 year old 😊 Yates is a legend
All of them still look badass after retirement ❤️😍🤩. Losing muscle mass doesnt mean they are not fit. This video should have a diff title - how cool ex-bodybuilders still after retirement
Flex was Ronnie's inspiration and mentor. Go figure. Flex could make a comeback faster than anyone. He had a devastating car accident way back, they don't even mention it. Pain medications can drive a super motivated and disciplined athlete to destruction. Ronnie would gush about his affections for oxycontin go out and snap his freshly installed surgical screws clean off... To watch Flex do a video when he was talking suicide was very sobering. I respect both these men immensely, they endured adversity beyond belief. They are not decorative beings without substance.
That’s the juice for you. The amount of young kids doing it now is ridiculous. I’ve thought about doing it so many times.. at 42 I think I’ve missed that boat!
jay cutler still looks very muscular. i saw shawn ray he still looks a kind of bulky muscular ,looks like a hefty guy sort of a brawler look. i would think twice before picking an argument with him.
The “after” photos are what they need to show these youngsters getting their workout on these days as to how fake and temporary steroids are. They are damaging and more than that, the psychological roles they play as far as someone needing to continue to take steroids,HGH, etc.. in order to maintain “that look” throughout their lives.Imagine the damage that stuff does to,the liver, heart, kidneys but to get “that look” people will make sacrifices for that temporary moment to shine….
Muscle mass is still there the chemical balance has gone, then testosterone levels drop with age usually 35 onwards Dorian may not look big but he would still pull your arms off and slap you with the soggy end ...
Dorian has a great mind, always did. He competed and won with torn muscles. Like many... paid a heavy price. He has specific serious injuries but stays active. Smart guy. Underrated. That muscle density was no accident. A very different Mr Olympia.

The real winners are us regular Joe's who keep healthy and in good shape our entire lives.
Yup
Exactly. People are getting tired of these roid builds.
@@mysticlegion8088 self inflated ego freaks look ridiculous posing in the mirror in little tanktops
True
Yup. Roid bodies are no healthier than the obese. They'll breakdown even faster even.
a lot of these guys just look healthier and more natural now.
Kevin levrone still training hard. Saw a video of him pressing 315 behind the neck. Cutler is still in shape too
Still on steroids you mean.
😂 same with Ronnie, these addicts can never move on.
A few of them said they are making a come back.
@@CaptainSaveHoe 😂😂😂😂” addicts” 😂😂
Not a single man among them that managed this without steroids.
Rightly said 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Of course
shawn ray, the legend that never won. the man who combined old school bb body with newer generation. its a pitty they never gave him the 1st place
He didn't earn it. Looked great but there was always someone not as blocky and just as muscular.
...I think he said in a documentary that his height was one of the biggest obstacles to his winning; especially having competed in the 90's which was the era of the insane mass monsters.
Not true. Lee priest was shorter and cleaned house in comparison to goofy ass Shawn Ray
@@dennyfuller437 Shawn Ray placed higher than Lee Priest every time they competed in the same contest.
I feel like Ray should have won a big event
no matter what , be smart and know your limit .
Exactly this guys choice of words 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Gunter was the funniest one. "He didn't keep up with his body and the results are pretty drastic." As he's popping a huge bicep peak at about 9 percent bodyfat in the after photo.
@@55Porter I know! Shut up transcript😆😆
Flex wheeler will always be a great icon irregardless of you describing him as looking bad yet he suffered a kidney disease. Respect Wheeler!
My thoughts exactly!
Yup but comparison is meant to his past self than others.
I like how he says most of the bodybuilders lost their muscle mass as he show them wit a good percent of muscle mass😂😂
It's really comforting to see that they are but a human after all.
It’s crazy how small the Rock looks compared to bodybuilders
But he's looking damn good!!
Smaller? He’s bigger than most bodybuilders, most bodybuilders are 5’5
After quitting the juice, the muscles dry off.
Mad Respects to Kevin Levrone, he clearly is one of the most natural of them all, hence his great physique till this very day.
Most natural hey
No one beats father time. However it's nice for a lot of these guys to have achieved their goals in bodybuilding short of earning Mr Olympia. It's hard for the body to keep all of that training up after so many years.
Father time its straight up PED HEAD bs no sympathy
Man every time I see Ronnie coleman these days I feel so bad for him. Hes basically wheelchair bound now in his mid 50s for going after a trophy in bodybuilding. Greatest of all time? probably so. Wonder if he would change anything not to be in alot healthier shape / able to walk with no problems etc
Given a choice of forethought he might, but what I love about Ronnie is that he never complains about it or says he regrets it.
Most of these guys look really good for their age, definitely better than most.
Gunter Schlierkamp looks amazing!
I think if u showed a picture of anyone in the street 20,30,40 years ago to how they look now ud get the same result. We all get old. Thats life. But these men were great at least one time in there life. Most of us cant say that
Jay cutler is one of the biggest inspiration for Never give up.
The only one I see here who lost all his gains is Paul dillet. The rest looked okay to me. And some of them still looked impressive considering their age and sometimes disabilities.
Wow, Mustafa lost pretty much all of his muscle mass in just 3 years !!
If they want to stay alive they gotta let it go..
I think you missed the Tom Prince segment...
@@SirManflywell duh. 3 years of inactivity is enough to make the hulk lose his gains. It took me maybe 4 months of inactivity during quarntine to lose almost everything.
Probably that's right.he lost almost 95% of his muscles.
Thanks so much!!!
Paul dillet I think his genetics are rare and I think he was one of the best pro body builder!ers he reminds me of Sergio Olivia
Paul Dillet cant maintain his genetics when hes not taking a brinks truck full of hermones.
@@Swagalious689 👍
They all look in shape still and happy. Thats the shit that counts. 👌🏼
Dorian Yates looks really good after all the gear. He was able to go into fitness mode and save his body and life.
On hrt all the time
@@vladimiralexandrovich3295 How do you know that? He's not big at all, his joints are shot so he doesn't lift heavy. He does more cross fit HIIT then anything else. I've never heard him say on interviews he's on HRT. So, I'm curious, what's your source???
@@hv9356 he told in interview.
@@vladimiralexandrovich3295 What interview? This video was a narration. Did you see him, he sure doesn't look like he's on HRT now !! He's not bulky at all. Is it possible he's on HRT to maintain normal test levels after years of abuse?? Yes, but no amount to suggest he's making gains other then fitness.
Steroids.
Great documentary man keep up the good work
80s & 90s are my golden 💛 age of bodybuilding. What I realize now is if you can decline that fast you could also progress that fast 🥇
80s and 90s was pretty much the golden age for everything
Food
Boxing
Music
Movies
Life
Regretfully unless your gains are 100% natural You will always decline much more rapidly that you gain. And if you built up naturally while it will easier to keep it and you keep it longer: after that initial honeymoon year with the weights it will be slow,, and you'll be battling to overcome plateaus every few months or maybe if lucky one per year. Interesting video. Lots to think about and to consider.
I never let any issues to stop you mate
I know that Murali. Thanks for the love... Some times we fail, we break , we fall but then we rise, we heal and we overcome thi is life.. We never give up ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Take a drink every time the narrator says the word "bodybuilder".
I recently saw Shawn Ray he looks really good. You have to remember most of these bodybuilders are in their 50's now. Their approach to the gym is different, they're not competing anymore. That's like asking Michael Jordan to do a dunk from the free throw line at 58.
Dude. These are legends. Who cares if they lost their muscle mass?
Keeping muscles mass is hard while natural...i expect these guys start rapid muscle loss weeks after stopping steroid
its easier to keep up muscles while natural when you get older, not after steroid abuse when you shutdown your testosteron completely
Thanks for the information
Sad most of them quit. I've been training for 45 years and plan to quit when I'm d-e-a-d.
Thanks for motivating me, sir !!
@@TITAN1749 Ditto my friend. 👊💪
Did have a lot of good times, the results lasted well 😉
One and only Maryland muscle machine... respect
What do you expect? People get old, isn't natural that their bodies change drastically? Most of the times that you've said "and he lost almost all of his muscle mass" they were actually pretty good, with an incredible shape for the age they're today.
Some of these guys look fitter and healthier now than they did back in their bodybuilding days.
For me Markus Ruhl looks the best these days.... he's still a real Hulk 👍🏻💪
If drugs were used to achieve those gains a dramatic loss of muscle mass would be expected. And a man’s natural level of hormones would be diminished with heavy drug use leading to many health problems once the drugs are stopped.
Or are these guys lazy to train
You nailed it thank you .for speaking the truth these drug addicts were idolizing including Arnold and Ronnie Coleman
Nature always wins!
These pros..looked great...shows how hard they worked to looked awesome
Yea, with roids, that fed their bodies up.
With roids!! DO not forget that part!!
The GREATEST bodybuilder of all time is the one who conquers the old age look, still strong, and massive!
Paul dillet was a body builder but now he is a belly builder
His very skinny now lol
Most of these guys still look a amazing.
I like the progress of ur channel
The this video is really great
Thank you very much! Your support means alot to us Medo
It's the price to pay to compete at the highest level from extreme dedication and PEDs
The fact Flex didn’t win Olympia with that body ... shows this event like any other with major coin is rigged
FACTS BRUH!!!!
He was against the KING Coleman , he was born in wrong era.
thank you
No Steroids! No Gain! But a healthy life!
youre comparing guys 25 yrs later arnold is like 100 yrs old now
It's not really fair at all.
Most of theses guys still look fantastic
Respect to all body builders, they go thru a life cycle realize high maintenance is required. Not just muscle mass, your organs needs to keep up the same function/filtration. When they retired, their body is back to normal function and less stressed. This is what so called longevity vs muscle mass.
I have never been a bodybuilder, but I have the body of a retired bodybuilder 😎😎😎😎
Ronnie paid the biggest price of them all
nah flex wheeler, imagine having your leg amputated.
Flex wheeler...hold my syringe
Those who take steroids and other Chems are lifting more than their natural body is made for. That is the reason they are having so many health issues now and later in life.
The greatest and legendary bodybuilder ever sir Arnold Schwarzenegger.❤️❤️
Sounds like you have a crush. He doesn't even know you exist.
I prefer Frank Zane and Serge Nubret.
spot on - and you are 100% correct. Arnold was the greatest without the common bloaty stomach they all have now :)
All these guys looked great. Some looked better after in my opinion because they looked more natural and comfortable.
I’m Sorry To See What Happened To TOM PRINCE , He Had One Of The Greatest Body’s Every !! And A GREAT LOOKING MAN TOO !!!!
I think he ended up having serious kidney issues.
Gunther looks great even today. He toned it down well I think.
We all have to get old as well you know.
Am I the only one who thinks most of these guys look great even after their bodybuilding careers?
Kevin Levrone and Jay Cutler look amazing still they look as a good as an average enhanced 20 something. Ronnie Coleman had a botched back surgery that really set him back. Arnold is in his 70s but is in much better shape then your average 50 year old 😊 Yates is a legend
All of them still look badass after retirement ❤️😍🤩. Losing muscle mass doesnt mean they are not fit. This video should have a diff title - how cool ex-bodybuilders still after retirement
Paul Dillet just said “fuck it” and went to Coldstone 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I like how his ad for some supplement or other shows phots of him "before" and "after"......but in reality they're in reverse......
Vanity , Vanity all is Vanity !!!
Arnold's record hasn't been broken by many bodybuilders. Only 2
In fact
Nothing lasts forever. Be a stud while you can
Hey, Shawn still looks good......and healthy!...
I think all of them have maintained themselves quite well.
Flex had the most devastating transformation losing a limb. Ronnie after him barely being able to walk now.
Arnold held his condition for years after retiring. Dorian scaled down right!....Jay Cutler was huge and has backed it down but still bigger than you.
jay cutler still looks very muscular. i saw shawn ray he still looks a kind of bulky muscular ,looks like a hefty guy sort of a brawler look. i would think twice before picking an argument with him.
Arnie 🔥
The “after” photos are what they need to show these youngsters getting their workout on these days as to how fake and temporary steroids are. They are damaging and more than that, the psychological roles they play as far as someone needing to continue to take steroids,HGH, etc.. in order to maintain “that look” throughout their lives.Imagine the damage that stuff does to,the liver, heart, kidneys but to get “that look” people will make sacrifices for that temporary moment to shine….
Thanks for the tips.
Dorian had the best back of all time.... just silly how much definition he had, and Ronnie IS the greatest bodybuilder of all time.
Gunter shleirkamp is still in phenomenal shape ...he uses tension bands more now and has more of an athletic look but the guy still looks great
Muscle mass is still there the chemical balance has gone, then testosterone levels drop with age usually 35 onwards Dorian may not look big but he would still pull your arms off and slap you with the soggy end ...
Dorian has a great mind, always did. He competed and won with torn muscles.
Like many... paid a heavy price. He has specific serious injuries but stays active. Smart guy. Underrated. That muscle density was no accident. A very different Mr Olympia.
