Works great in the 5th gen 4runner!!! I can’t believe how comfortable this thing is. It is a bit big but you can store items on it and below it while traveling.
@@tomryan4478 thank youy friend! Sometimes you'll find the cot at REI outlets after someone has returned it gently used. I still use this set up today!
Just a pointer, you opened that up probably the hardest way possible, lol. Next time stand it on its side, open the 2 main legs, set it down, and open the head and feet. Literally takes seconds instead of fumbling around like you did in the video.
Hey- I wanted one since your other video with the cheetah shirt! Got mine! 1. Fits in 5th gen 4Runner the same way. 2. Pro, storage space and comfort 3. Con it’s a beast. Heavy and a little awkward to set up. The way you set it up is best. Head the other way doesn’t fit as well, and in the middle takes up all the room. I don’t hit the bar yet cuz mine is new. Thanks for sharing this. I need room for gear and won’t build a platform. Just a Matt could work but less room for gear
Dude that's frigging awesome!!! So glad it works the same way for the 5th generation, and if I can find a friend who will let me borrow their 5th gen for 30 minutes I would make a vid for that truck too. It is hefty but once it's in, it's in. I slept safe and sound during a crazy sand Storm in the Alvord. It's still inside my truck for when I wanna take a quick nap at work. Thanks for sharing, I was super curious if it would work and it does!
If you remove the 5th Gen seat bottoms of the rear seats, can it sit lower so it can rest just over the center console? I have an ExPed MegaMat 10 that has quite a bit of thickness and it is 78" long. I'd like to use this, but the MegaMat puts me super close to the ceiling of the 4Runner, so I'm trying to find options that will decrease the overall height. Can the cushions of this cot be removed since I'm already using a air/foam mattress?

Heck yah! Totally, my guitar is nestled safely on it when I have unpacked it after camping. Glad it worked out for you!
Richie, you have a great "vibe!" Very authentic. I am looking for a bed for my car and you made it easy. Thanks!

Really appreciate the detail explaining everything... I'm gonna try this setup in my 4runner!
Sometimes you can find the cot used on FB marketplace, offer up, craigslist. There are 2 next to new cots in my area... 2 for $100!!! Good luck!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Time to go home by the time you get it set up.

Just pick mine up at REÍ I’ll set it up in. Couple of weeks
Why would you not sleep with your head towards the front?
You could try it that way but the cot is inserted in backwards and you might not have the upper body support you need because of that
Thanks for a follow up, the cot is not comfortable enough without a pad?
It is comfortable enough, but the mat takes it to another level!
Where did you get those seat covers? Love the design.
They're called Wet Okole. They're a surf suit material, veri comfortable
@@RichieValentine Thanks man, checking them out.
Can you close the hatch?
Yep, it closes perfectly with no resistance, but it's a TIGHT fit
Absolutely nothing easy about opening & loading that beast!
I just push my head rests all the way down instead of taking them out. They all fit.
❤
awsome??????
All cots need a pad!!
Figured that out late. Better late than never!
Pretty large bed. could easily sleep two people.
The pad makes the cot look cheap especially you don’t have much room
I don even see the way you take off the cusps
Oh no!😢 i don’t see nothing
