One of the best concerts I've been to. . . . I remember outside, people were trying to buy my ticket for $500.00 . . . . . . I thought about it for a few minutes (500 was a lot of money for a teenager like me back then), but I decided that I would never have a chance to see TOOL in such a small and intimate show......... I am definitely glad I kept it..... My best TOOL concert ever..... I saw them in Lollapalooza when Aenema was released and later on in Trenton, NJ and this one surpassed both by far.

Absolutely. Seeing Tool in a small venue nowadays? Good luck with that. I saw them at Radio City in 2002. AMAZING.

Forgive me I'm gonna go on a hell of rant here. This exact filming and a earlier aud recording got me full into TOOL like it was a religion. Forever my friend's had been "like listen to TOOL, you'll love TOOL" constantly. Id been exposed to their albums and had resisted because I was into different types of music at the time saying yeah they are another sick band whatever. Something clicked seeing this recording and I was all in. The show, especially with all the back screens no one was using at the time , using comedians i admired to open up. It just all hit home. For the next 4 years I wore nothing but TOOL tees. Listened to them at every chance I got every day. Downloaded every show I could get my hands on. I was "all in" TOOL. Devouring everything they did. Nothings really changed. I've seen them about 20 times in Australia following most tours along the east coast of Australia. My point.... "TOOL HAS NEVER WANTED FILMERS OR TAPERS" to take part in shows, but I can guess there's 100's of stories out there similar to mine that has made die-hard life-long fans. Thank you to the filmer of this show sincerely, you changed my life. I've probably done trades with you in the past but forgotten.

I'm so glad this still exists in its entirety and in such good quality. Amazing to believe I managed to snatch like the only scalper's ticket available. If you were in line for this show, chances are you saw my young self running around looking for a ticket. Well, I got in, and it blew my fragile little mind. Amazing to look back on the band and see how much this set was on the hybrid between their minimalist, dark and atmospheric Aenima set and their later (end of the Lateralus tour and on) sets with all the fancy lights and stuff. Most people were probably disappointed that Maynard wasn't throwing himself around on the ground, but the vintage experience for me will always be that darkness and that amazing moment when they all rest for a note near the end of Opiate. Amazing stuff all around.

Were you the guy with the free sign? Or maybe it was some other funny sign, it's been a long time but it caught my attention. I do recall a guy looking for a ticket and then I was in disbelief when I saw him inside later.

I keep looking for the kids from NJ that I hung out with all day. We were one of the first in line. The kids from NJ had some decent grass packed in a menthol cig. We smoked their stuff and I busted out my high octane shit and one of the kids had to nap on the sidewalk.
And I wonder if anyone else saw the dude walking the log up 34th. It had a spiked collar and was shedding bark as it's owner dragged it on the sidewalk.

May 2001 with Maynard here looking like Rob Halford and hitting every single fucking note like in the studio version. Even at the end of this same tour you can already hear some light vocal variations here and there. it's like hearing sparkly '96 Maynard dominating the entire Lateralus album. This Pushit is simply out of this world. Full vocal power and control of every single nuance in the melody 46:58. Amazing historical video document. Thank you so much.
