metal fatigue. the pressure of the weight of the people end of the pendulum ride after who knows how many years finally gave in. a good care and repair plan would have caught the fatigue and closed the ride
@Titus Robertson in today's environment, these types of shows barely make any money, that's why they are in bad repair. Why do you think Ringling Brothers in Barnum quit doing the outside shows they only did them in the ring in a tent or an enclosed stadium & didn't have the outside Carney stuff anymore
RIX...YEP! Like the time all of my trailer wheels locked up after the gladhand connection (aluminum alloy) fell apart. Luckily I had two vice grips and was able to limp her home! I will never forget the time just a few weeks into amusement park opening...a light fixture came crashing down into the mostly empty ride followed immediately by a huge board swinging out from under the same ride. That was really bizarre!
Metal fatigue caused by the country's open defecation problem. Less than half the population have toilets, so they poo on the ground. This weakens and fatigues the iron bolts holding this mess together. So, they jury rig it with coat hangers, and soda bottlecaps.
ValiantsFelines McCarty it's at an amusement park. Those places make a killing!
Probably not years, This ride is made by a Chinese manufacturer called Golden Horse who is well known for knocking off European and American designed amusement rides. This one in particular is a knockoff of a Zamperla Discovery and probably used way weaker (and cheaper) steel than the real ones.
if they were doing regular maintenance and safety inspections, they would have noticed the failures in the structure before it actually reached it's breaking point... save a few dollars, take a few lives...
It's a helluva lot cheaper to properly maintain rides than to deal with wrongful death suits, fines, and lost business.
not if the inspectors are lazy

I would be surprised if there weren't major injuries for others on the ride though. @@alaricvisigoth919 But the USSA has zillions of these catastrophes TOO... with all different variables.
THE PROBLEM IS HUMAN STUPIDITY, LAZINESS, GREED.
@@alaricvisigoth919 . I watched a youtube video, in it the indi guy living by the river thinks the polution is not a problem. His mono is, "the solution to the polution is dilution". Meaning the river is so big, the polution takes care of itself. wtf.
@@dumpygoodness4086 , saw your negative posts elsewhere, you are consistently using the letters USSA. THIS means the United States of South America, and yes, they do run that when they're doing their get togethers, so who are you talking about? Just thought I'd ask?
Perhaps as you sit at your home country (China), spreading slander about the other side of the world, when you know nothing and that honestly, the northern hemisphere, which includes Canada, United States, I do not know much about Mexico's laws, but they're pretty strict about the little carnivals that run around down there, they're pretty strict about monitoring the rides, etc, there are accidents, but they're very rare, they don't happen all the time, and the moving carnivals are monitored and checked out. They can't get a license without that.
Usually the accidents are because of people not obeying the rules. Even my own sister crawled out of a boat at Disneyland It's A Small World Ride at age 4 because she wanted to get one of the dolls, mom wasn't watching her. So you can't blame it all on them not building a fence between her & the dolls. But, really it comes down to you looking at it and realizing: Wow, this looks like a really old worn out ride & maybe realizing you really don't want to be on it. Maybe something that fast if you have a heart, breathing or medical condition that can be exacerbated by the ride.
Overweight or too small/thin where they can't buckle you correctly? There are lot of ways to have an accident. Then yes there are really bad engineering mistakes only takes one to happen and then rules change a redesign or removal etc. One is too many? When were we promised perfection on this planet? Never. It's a living breathing organism, everything else also lives & breathes and has life time expectancies. Even machines and you can maintain them but when you're receiving inferior products for maintenance that can be difficult.
Such as my husband who is maintains a large manufacturing plant in the USA. He's so excited we now have tariffs against China as he can now justify to his company, he needs to buy French bearings (US stopped making them) because the French bearings are safe. They're not rotten, nor break down easily but everybody wants things cheap. Soo they force us to purchase from China and their stuff is crap and dangerous and breaks.
How about the huge scandal about their bolts that we were using in the cars, equipment and buildings but oh we have to be careful about that. We don't want to offend their feelings. We don't want to stop trading with them. The American global economy excuse me, that progressive democratic socialist global economy has caused us to have cheaper goods, dangerous vehicles, rides, elevators, etc, because the personnel in companies that are trying to maintain the infrastructure, aren't allowed to purchase quality products.
You want to start whining about things, start fighting it in the courts. Get it passed that it has to be American made. State that it has to be Canadian made. Manufacturing in the Northern hemisphere would bring jobs back, it is a proven fact, statistically now that it is less expensive to manufacture in Canada, or the United States than Mexico, China, etc. but large corporations, global corporations are holding that over our head, saying they can manufacture outside in these cheap countries. You have no idea how much poorly manufactured products come straight China to Landfills, because of poor quality. Environmentalists who don't want us doing anything, they want to pretend that we can do it all with the power of our IT minds well, our educations aren't going to feed us when our country has no products to sell.
@@alaricvisigoth919 This ride is reportedly a Chinese knockoff...
oh no, that poor little girl saw it all, I hope that doesn't scar her for life.
Straight meracle that only 2 died.
This is why we have safety standards in countries like the UK, US, Canada, etc. Those 2 might still be alive if someone just inspected and maintained the thing like they are supposed to.

The idea that this horrific accident took place in an amusement park is so sad! 😐 Pray for fellow Indian people.
The disc hits the upright at 0:23 which is probably what killed the 2 people. They're lucky it landed upright or things could have been a lot worse.

OMG 2 people died. This is horrible. Amusement parks have got to be more vigilant concernings maintenance. We in America have also had similar issues. Everyone needs to pray before going on rides.
You are more likely to die in an air plane or car than at an amusement park. This ride was a Golden Horse knockoff of a Zamperla Discovery and would NEVER be allowed to operate here.

EVIDENTLY YOU HAVE YET TO HEAR ABOUT THE USSA.
(It's an obscure nation also called America.)
EX:
look up the tallest water slide which DECAPITATED a 10 year old boy. (!!!)
It was THOUSANDS of dif criminal scandals in one, like every other part of the USSA.
American fairs aren't regulated either. Remember that.

this happened back in 2011 or 2012 i think ..when this imagica park was newly opened ... old news.. but year never seen such thing ever before in any other indian amusement park.. not sure why this is being reported in american media after like 8years or so.
you should always go to very well known parks because one at your local city might end up like this
Tell that to thorpe park in the uk.
They good quality with regular inspections and 2 accidents in 2 years...
No deaths though and one amputee.
unfortunately this part of the world is known for always going for the cheapest solution, no matter how high the budget. The amount of amusement park accidents in india is way to much to be anything but intentional
Oh man, this is horrible. I was at an amusement park around 10 years ago where a detonator style ride misfired, and a cable broke that severed a kids legs. She was stuck near the top of the ride while the park maintenance crew had to find a way to get the group down. People had to find a way to apply tourniquets stories up in the air while strapped into safety chairs. Never going to take a ride on something like that again.
3 years later would happen again
.
The worst part is the people who died were literally locked in a chair and had to watch their death coming. They didn't even have the option to emergency release and hope the fall is better than being crushed. That's the major issue with these rides. Once you're in, you have no way to react, you're stuck there for better or worse.
Uh more people would have died if the restraints released. Those who died fell out some how.
If you look at the inspection control plaque on the side of ride it says. 1992. The year it was built.
Same as Ohio amusement park accident
