That's sick!!!! that just seems overly normal then hearing a JZ engine screaming in it. Almost seems like it should have been a normal option either the JZ or optioned for the UZ V8. Nicely done.
Code Blue I would go with the Link G4 Extreme because XcessiveManufacturing.com sells the kit with a jumper harness that plugs directly into the existing 1uz vvti harness. xcessivemanufacturing.com/toyota/by-engine/1uz/ecuk-s3.html
What car did you pull the 3uz from? I keep looking around to see which ones are rear sump, if any, and all I get is contradictions. Some say all rear, some say all front, some cars supposedly have either depending on year... It doesn't add up. Help? Thanks in advance.
Gah Bah my 3uz came from a LS430. It’s actually a mid sump pan and is a very tight fit. The 92-97 sc400 oil pan is the best fit and can be used on any UZ motor. Make sure to get the sc400 oil pickup also.
What do you do to address the ecu for a 5 speed manual. I saw in your immobilizer video you mentioned on a certain plug you just removed a ton of wires, is that all you did? I was thinking about having a switch to tell the computer it is in P vs N vs D or just using a timer that so many seconds after start up tell the computer it is in drive
TexasMudbug728 Your method will not work. The ecu must receive feedback from the vavlebody sensors and transmission output shaft. The motor will run perfectly without a hint of a problem but the ecu will sense a transmission fault, run in limp mode and cut 50 horsepower. You need to wire in a transmission emulator/simulator. There is a guy on Facebook that makes them specifically for Toyota/Lexus swaps. He’s located in Russia. I’ve spent a lot of money buying his parts and services and have never had a problem. @@TexasMudbug728 My 3uz swap is running the 1uz vvti ecu, harness, coil packs and throttle body. Using the 1uz vvti electronics made wiring easier and I didn't have to install an electric gas pedal to operate the original 3uz throttle body. The 1uz throttle body bolted right up.

I love the Uz engines. I have three Uz swapped Toyotas and love them. Just know that there’s not much support for this swap into older Toyotas. It will fit in your MK2 with the right parts. Particularly the sc409 oilpan and exhaust manifolds. The price for jz motors has also exploded sooo the Uz fits my budget.
