      Dude I seriously been doing this on Ft Lauderdale Beach for a yr + now. E /A 12 or 6 string with Getaria 5.8 rechargeable wireless system going into a Peavey 9v powered amp. Amp is crap but at least can be heard. 9v in guitar, 9v in amp and 2 Getaria systems and I'm good for 5-6 hrs.

    I love wireless packs. It's great when I practice around the house. I can the out onto the porch and on a beautiful cool morning or evening enjoy the breeze and play without dragging the cord out and being able to close the door. Around multiple wireless devices signals can mix. Good video as always

    I have the Joyo JW-03, and it's essentially the same unit. I had to charge mine overnight to ensure it went to full. As the signal weakens (about 8 hours later) the transmtter begins to flash and the sound begins to warble. But for $50 to $60, no more treading on bleeping cables!

    I didn't know that Artist Guitars sold these wireless devices. I heard of Artist Guitars during the pandemic and being a postie, I know who orders stuff from them and that's how I heard of them.
    I'm tempted to get it because it might make the stage a bit cleaner and I can walk around freely

      Maybe I'm crazy but on all my guitars (only 5) I cut and glue a velco piece to hold my wireless bug in place. I use both AKG and Getaria 5.8 as systems. When I say cut I actually slice into the finish so the glue will catch something. Even on my Les Paul. Gotta be a keeper guitar because it ruins the look at the jack area. But my guitars are all worked over for 100 watt amps. Shielded inside, wear marks all over. You know relic the old fashioned way.

    • @RudolfZ
      @RudolfZ Рік тому

      @@sparkyguitar0058 Doesn't this mean you have to tape velcro to your guitar? Don't know about that. :/
      That's why Shane says that stiff hinges are important, keeps it in place.

    • @sparkyguitar0058
      @sparkyguitar0058 Рік тому

      @@RudolfZ No I cut into the wood of each guitar to hold the velco to the guitar. No real glue or tape would stick to the surface of today's glossed over guitars. I take out a small patch of the surface near the jack and wood glue a piece of velco to the guitar. No stage lights heat or other changes will pull the velco loose. It's worth it to me to keep system always up to snuff. My AKG bug system is very quiet as long as I don't get too far away. The Getaria is not nearly as effective but works very nice on the board to amp connection. Keeping the only line to my board is the electric which can move easily enough. This means sometimes I have my board on a stand and turn knobs while playing. Anything for the song.

    In the material, is it using bluetooth or wifi? If bluetooth, you should be able to link (pair) to your computer or other devices (e.g. some amps). Distance can be increased or reduced depending on the other device (bit like what was shown with the receiver).

    5ms is a let down considering radio travels at the speed of light, not the speed of sound.

    • @sjb1957
      @sjb1957 Рік тому

      The perceived delay at 20m would be not the electronic/wifi latencies. It would instead be the time the sound takes to travel 20m from the Amp to his ear. IOW, the delay would be almost the same as if he was using it from the same spot with a 20m guitar cable.

    • @davidfrisken1617

      @@intheblues Marketing strikes again!. Most of these cheaper units will be used in a home and 4.9ms + another 4-7ms for multi effects or other effects + possible amp processing + 8ms from sitting 8 feet from the speaker is getting toward the end of feeling the latency into noticeable latency. Something with crazy low latency like the under 2ms NUX MG400 and an analogue amp would help any impact.
      My comment was more in reference to analog radio like the original Nady wireless. Modern data type wireless has latency limited by physics and current components, but has major advantages such as interference and they are cheap.

    • @davidfrisken1617
      @davidfrisken1617 Рік тому

      @@sjb1957 No. The cable "signal" travels at the speed of light and is imperceptible. The sampled wireless may have a tone advantage compared to a cable. At 20m the latency from the speaker would be 60ms due to the speed of sound. The additional latency of the electronics "under 5ms" should not change at 20m or 5m.
