Very interested in how well this phone works. I’m an apple user and I am ready to upgrade my phone. Hopefully this phone will be the best device to use
Thank u for the video. However, the phone seems bloated with apps and I do basics with mine. Another thing, it has VPN, but I would like to verify the actual encryption. On the kill switch, how do you verify nothing is still active (RF monitor)? I know it was developed by a Navy SEAL, but I still like to verify things. I question everything today including infosec. Thanks again.
Here is something else that you don't know the data chat group in the up app messenger help with both the hardware and software development of the hole phone
Patriot Mobile is cheaper then Verizon plus you can use Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile networks. I get better coverage with Verizon and am waiting for the UP phone to be compatible with Verizon but could use the other two major networks until then.
Fr , most of this feature are in an Galaxy A15 which is a $150 phone . I mean at this point it would be easier to make a Cover Case that isolate the phone from signals than trying to make one myself and have to sign contracts with every single app companies that im trying to avoid so my phone works like every other. Would it be easier to make a private browser amd private services for that new phone and let the new community get used to it or leave it?
Many regular phones have security settings that apparently make the phone secure, but you are at the mercy of the operating system, firmware and system programs and apps, you don't know that the security settings are actually doing what you think they do. I mean the same could be said about any of the "secure" phones on the market too, but at least with these you know the operating system and firmware aren't controlled by Google.
MIT TECHNOLOGY review from 2022 said its b.s. but they are far left. I'm going to buy one after learning that the Gov agencies& hackers use "sting ray" cell phone tower simulators without warrants to listen to ALL of your wireless devices.
They could still probably listen to this phone, too, unless they use private towers to jump to the service tower and some dark art encryption that won't totally cause issues.
@@Wojtekoa yeah dude its a joke thinking the government cant listen to you if they feel like it, but the reality is most people arent even close to important enough for the government to give a fuck what they talk about or text people. but if they can find out what a dudes saying in a cave across the world they can find out what youre saying on one of their satallites.
@bugstomper4670 the depends on if the tower encrypted the call numbers. But the call will be the most important source of information anyway because it gives the attacker the ability to start social engineering their target.
Only issue I have is that GPS signals aren’t encrypted, I need to research more on whether or not a dashboard gps device can be traced, or if this phone’s gps can be traced.
I like the Rose Tea collections. Each box comes with small figurines and the collection changes each year so its a race to get each collection completed. And then the inevitable race to Ebay to complete the missing items.

I would really, really like to know with confidence if it is really necessary to not open source the OS source code. Is there some functionality that needs to be "protected" in this way. I don't know enough to say. But it is a finger in my eye, and should be in yours too, unless there is something I am not getting. You can also physically take the battery out of some other phones that might be flashable to other builds of non google android.
No, there is zero reason to avoid open sourcing the OS. The majority of the worlds servers run on open source software that can be verified, and this does not impact security at all. There are other security oriented phones that also run open source. They will try and pretend that this is closed off to add another layer of security through obscurity, but odds are 100:1 it's more because there is something there people wouldn't like if they saw it
The speed test is not completely accurate as I have found u get better speed if you allow cookies, therefore the test with the VPN would have been slowed as Adam never accepted the cookies till after the first test.
