    All wheels courtesy of Sure Grip Roller Skates.
    OUTDOOR WHEELS:
    "Motion" 78a (62mm diameter) - Smooth, comfy ride outside, smaller diameter, more speed. Will roll over virtually any cracks, rocks, gravel etc.
    "Gravity" 78a (65mm diameter) - All the benefits of a great outdoor wheel plus LARGER WITH GLITTER!
    HYBRID WHEELS:
    "Sugar" 85a (62mm / 42mm width) - Hybrid wheel for great performance on slick indoor floors or outside for slick concrete or if you feel the need for more speed on the streets.
    "Equalizer" 85a (62mm / 38mm width) - Same as the Sugar but smaller diameter makes it more agile.
    INDOOR WHEELS:
    "Fame" 97a (55mm diameter) - Favored by many a rink skater and artistic skater for it's smooth, lightweight feel. Comes in many colors.
    "Royal" 101a (57mm diameter) - Larger diameter, longer roll, performance oriented for the rink or art skating. Gold translucent color.
    SPEED WHEELS:
    "Monza" 93a, 95a, 98a (62mm diameter/42mm width)- For when you feel the need for speed! Color coded for hardness rating.
    OLD SCHOOL WHEELS:
    VANATHANE WHEELS:
    Narrow width and good "grip" feel to dig in for jumps, spins, side-to side movement, rink crowd speed. Wheels will slide but not feel out of control. Wheels come in a bigger diameter but are often ground down to fit lower profile plates or for skater preference.
    "All American Dream" - Hard! 57mm diameter. Comes in white.
    "All American Plus" - Hard! 57mm diameter. Black or white.
    "Velvet" - Hard! 57mm diameter. Comes in all the colors!
    "CLAYS":
    "Fo-Mac Premier" Original Clay Wheel- Hard! 57mm diameter. Slick but easy to spin and move on, good on speed. Two-tone brown color.
    "Fo-Mac Mini Mac" Same as above but in a 45mm diameter.
    "WOODS":
    Good for smooth movement, sliding, often cut down to fit a low profile, light weight.
    "Sure Grip Original Wood"- Hard! 50mm diameter / 38mm width
    "Maple Slider" - Hard! 50mm diameter / 32 widtch
    "FIBERS" / "SLIDERS":
    "Sure Grip Original Phenolic" - 33mm or 39mm diameter.
    Fiberglass-like compound allows you to slip and slide around the floor. Wheels are fast, LOUD, light weight and easy to change directions. Wheels are favored for tricks & spins. Will be harder to control for newer skaters ... NO grip. #howto #rollerskate #rollerdance #rollerskate #rollerrink #howto

When I started taking dance lessons I ordered new wheels because mine were a bit slippery for the edges needed when dancing with mum partner. So, I just realized that every time that I go to film, I need to conduct a sound check before I call CUT!!! LOL!!!
    LOL... I've been tryna kill myself looking for the durometer of the phenolic wheels... and you just said it here, "so hard, they don't even have a hardness rating..." LOL... However, when you conduct a list to compare and contrast, it's difficult for me, when all fields are not filled in. I just gotta roll with it.

    You are a CHARACTER!! I'm getting back into outdoor skating here in Morro Bay (up the coast from you). Grew up on skates in the Bay Area. Even dance skated in Newport and Venice Beach in the mid 80's. Want to dust off the skills and get back into dancing on my skates as long as I don't bust my _______. Saw that you have a bunch of other skating videos which I will take a look at. Hey, 3.1K thumbs up reviews! Good for you and I can see why. My question is: What is wrong with those 21 who gave you a thumbs down??? Oh, that's right. Those 21 are the guys who blame their skates and wheels, huh?
    Keep on Rollin' !!!

    Years ago I could skate without even thinking about falling, it was on the steel wheels. When I grew older I had a lace up pair that had wooden wheels. I was told by an indoor skating instructor, that I had a strong skating stance. It was was a result of all of those years growing up skating with steel wheels, on many ruff and bumpy concrete sidewalks. Many years later The rink that I had become accustomed to going to closed its doors one day, and another business moved into the facility. One day I decided to skate outside and it was glorious. I later went to another rink that was far from home. I thought that I would glide around th rink a few turns and was surprised to know that my well used lace up skates had me slipping and sliding across the floor. It was quite embarrassing. I had ruined the wheels when I took a spin around the neighborhood. Back then I was young and not into keeping my equipment in good working order, I didn't even think about replacing the wheels, I also had out grown the skate, I never realized that they were a half size too small till I was giving them away. Talk about clueless. They were a christmas gift that I held onto for a very long time. I'm in my 70's now and too afraid of hurting something. Some driveways have a incredibly steep slope. I'm glad that I don't have to navigate any of those. I hope that the trainer (not a person) will help me to gain the confidence that I lost when I became a senior citizen, then I can put it in a corner while I have fun. Wheeeeee? By the way, going forward was the only thing that I did, and a short controlled turn around. I never fell, except once, when my wheel fell off.

    Thanks, that was good. I have a better understanding now. Yes, I'm a beginner, I just got some Miami Rollerbone wheels with an 80a rating, so it looks like I didn't mess up for an OK beginner outside experience. I dont think I need a spacer in the wheel, do i? I've seen some mention of spacers but I'm thinking they are for skateboards? Like I said, beginner!

    Yo ! Dirty ! Have really really been enjoying your courses , my daughters and me , we just love skating on quads , we luv it we luv it we luv it ! You rock , and no shame or fear on my part , I take them skating , we are learning to skate and getting better every day . Lol , I got a pair of VNLA blue skates because I liked how they look , this was before watching your videos . After replacing the bumpers and wheels I can skate pretty ok for an old school rookie on the completely wrong skate for me , however it challenged me , and I have learned and I have made them work and I am all the better for it.

    I had them big ol outdoor wheels on my skates for years. I recently got some roll line dance wheels. And oh my goodness my turns are so much better. I was over here trying to do a three turn into a one foot spin and just couldn’t do it. Got my new wheels and bam! Got it 🙌🏽🙌🏽. I was so happy when I turned like 3 times around. 🤯🤯🤯

    I should have watched this 4 months ago. I bought Fomac Harmony wheels at someone's suggestion. I am used to them now, but I am still a beginner. I still slide while crossing in the turn and I just learned transitions lol. I really need to go back to my SureGrip fames after watching this video. The Harmonys need to wait a little longer.

    Any video for the best Beginner friendly Roller Skates. I just semi learned about two weeks ago, took a one day class! & It was great I want to go back for more lessons, unfortunately due to the pandemic the surge for roller skates and roller blades has sky rocketed &, im sorry but the rented skates were absolutely horrible not to mention filled with germs 🦠🤮. This video was super informative for having the right wheels. I literally did not know the difference until watching your break down in this video. Keep this stuff coming you Def earned a new subbie

    Ma'am, you should throw a skating event, and host at least once a year. You should even go on tour to different cities across the country. I would make it my business to come from Jersey and skate with you. You have no idea how you have helped me. I would seriously get some merch and plan a visit. I don't think I'm the only viewer that feels this way, but please think about it. You are a great teacher and skate godmommy🥰.

    I bought some old Riedell roller skates at a vintage shop and the wheels were pretty worn in but I decided to just roll with it lol I’ve been skating for a couple weeks now (outdoors only) and I kept wondering why my wheels got stuck to tiniest of rocks & cracks!? I was telling myself that it’s just me because I’m new but then I thought that wheels actually do matter so... that’s what lead me here, this was very informative thank you so much! I just ordered some new outdoor wheels & tools!!
