This haul blew my mind! I had so much fun exploring this beautiful home. Thanks so much to my sister-in-law Katey for connecting me with Karen the kind homeowner who opened up her house to us! I hope you enjoy it! The haul starts around the 15 minute mark. Be sure to subscribe to see more!! xo Lori
Karen lived a life out loud ❤
What is your eBay store name please
I'm catching on in my 60's LET THINGS GO it can kill you
Karen and my Mother are collectors of the same magnitude. She’ll be 84 this year.
Actually, that’s the first thing I thought when she said the Salvation Army etc
On the other hand, though, she’s just a delight for woman, so lovely, and at the end, she said she’d love to meant to anybody I think she’s just a very unique person, but really charming and so very generous by the looks of things so I’m okay with it
This was utterly amazing and sad at the same time. Looks like about 40+ years worth of shopping. I can’t even fathom shopping to this extent. Looks like outside of work, this is what they did for fun. And the bigger the house, the more you can buy to fill it up. Lovely lady and so sad after years of collecting stuff, in the end it just becomes a pile of stuff and you can’t take it with you. I’ve learned that lesson as well. I hope she finds happiness again in her new home and life.
And I noted, no mention of children either.
I appreciate that not all couples want or have the ability to have children, so I'm not passing judgment as a couple of my siblings are D.I.N.K.s (Double Income No Kids).
It seemed like they were spending to compensate for *fill in the blank*.
I think of how many families, working homeless, and homeless could have benefited from the funds this couple spent on accumulating stuff, piles and piles of stuff.
One could make the argument that this lifestyle is no different than hoarders who compulsively shop. The only difference is that this couple had staff to bag and x catalog these items and the space to store things.
An unhealthy emotional attachment to **things** and a refusal to part with these things whilst continuing to unnecessarily shop. It sounds eerily familiar.
@@rkeutzer I couldn’t agree more it’s JUST STUFF when it comes down to it and you can’t take it with you. I personally think it’s sad that that type of thing is so fulfilling to some people but as they say different strokes for different folks😊
Her items are in perfect condition. One thing to learn from this lady is how to take good care of your stuff.
She treated many of her things like a fine collection! We had so much fun! Thanks for watching. xo
Seems like th ee was too much to use. Stored in original boxes.
Because she bought more than she could ever possibly use. Total over consumption. People like that just make me ill.
@@LorisBostonFoundnew subbie😊! Do you know why she’s selling? She seems a lil sad!
How could anyone have enough time to even buy all this stuff? It is so overwhelming. SO much STUFF.
I love that you showed so much respect to the homeowner and her story. I can see that you just get the value in people and not just things. Such a class act. Also, what incredible finds! Once in a lifetime. 💜
Thank you so much Jaclyn. 💕

So much respect for this kind woman! Happy Mother’s Day to both!
What a fascinating woman! I stopped the video and I haven't even finished yet so that I could Google all about Karen and who she is and who she's been in her career....what a remarkable Monumental woman!!! I couldn't find out what happened to her husband I was very curious about who he was as well either way thank you for sharing your wonderful video I'm going to continue to watch it now it seems thick it was a great time for everyone.... new subscriber as of today!
Where do I find the items you listed? First time here, thanks
A VERY interesting story! What woman doesn’t identify with this beautiful lady, and her accumulation of beautiful things?!Im 81, and I have always appreciated beautiful things…..Missoni, Park Avenue evening gowns, part of my career was invested in wearing divine bespoke dresses ( I was an opera singer/concert artist). At one stage in my life, I had dressmakers who made beautiful outfits for me.
and I had the joy of accessorising them….even now, my collection of Pashminas, hair ornaments by Paris Mode, jewellery, I still love wearing. Living in Europe in the 70’s, was an inspirational time….the coats, raincoats,( London) the most beautiful underwear, from Galleries Lafayette….Vivian Westwood was changing the zeitgeist, the memories of this or that outfit, never leave you! Thank you for sharing this great story!
Oh what a dream. Someone should make videos about you talking about some of your beautiful things.
I’m really amazed at how she was able to keep her parents things in such excellent condition
She kept them all so nice!
What a great experience and I love the respect you showed to her. I lost my husband a year and a half ago and when I was downsizing, I had to keep reminding myself that things I was selling were just material items, the memories are what's priceless. Have a blessed evening
I have so much stuff I’m starting to feel overwhelmed by it. This is a good lesson that no matter how many beautiful things we have, you can only enjoy so much of it. At the end, it’s just stuff except for the few things memories are truly made of
Same here!
I had that Gucci tote bag in the late 1970’s! I paid $50 for it on Rodeo Drive!
That is crazy Victoria!! Do you still have it?
God bless the owner she was so open to show her life to the world you can tell she adore her husband ❤
This was definitely an emotional experience for Karen.
I can imagine how amazing their house was when it was all put together. What a wonderful person and lovely story she has. It is hard to let go of a life of memories. I loved watching this! So exciting!
I love that she is a mentor to other women and made the offer to mentor someone now!!
Who would miss seeing all the good stuff and skip to the haul? You are too kind to let us know we “could” fast forward, but not likely in this group! This was a beautiful private showing. Thanks for sharing.
You are so sweet! I have long videos sometimes!
The fur item your sister-in-law had her hands is is called a muff. I had one as a child. It keeps your hands warm in the winter so you don’t have to wear gloves. I was born in 1952.
In no way do I intend to come off as rude but I had no idea CEO's of "non profits" made enough money to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into ONE bag brand. Am I the only one who finds it weird? She seems like a super lovely lady though.
Non profit CEOs can make very good salaries. Also, people have inherited money, her husband may have also had a high paying career or a combination.
@@Chelliel1992 I know they can make decent money, but when you think of them making many millions it's kind of weird. Just my opinion.
Yeah, you have no idea how much her husband made
She mentions that her husband spent all his money on her
I think it was also mentioned that someone was in real estate
She liked fun clothes..bright and colorful! That must have been so hard to say goodbye to her life before retirement!! Lumpy is precious❤❤
Thank you Patty! Her style matches her personality!
This lady looked like a really empathetic and strong woman. And I think that she did good by getting rid of so many items. In the end you can’t take it with you. Now she can start a new beginning in a smaller house with the items she kept and loved.🙏🏻🥰
Although fun, there is a profound sense of sadness in this video as well.
Being that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE vintage clothes and style, one thing that I like most is seeing older women's past wardrobe of this magnitude and she isn't a celebrity. It just exudes a woman who has confidently lived and enjoyed her fashionably stylish life and did not concern herself with what people had to say about it good or bad.
OMG! This was unbelievable and so much fun to watch. I have never seen a wardrobe that huge. Just amazing!
I went shopping for a new slip just a few months ago and they don’t exist at most stores. One store owner didn’t even know what a slip was. I had to order one online finally.
Luv her appreciation of fashion. It’s like going to store to shop. ❤!
It is amazing how much she accumulated. I would have been a blessing to donate some to women looking for professional work and couldn't afford professional attire. I was starting down this road in my early twenties with buying to make myself feel better. Thankfully I recognized what I was doing and stopped. I do love combing through garage sales etc., but when I bring something home, something goes out.
this is why i love estate sales. i always try to ask about the story behind the family
Yes! The stories are so special!
This lady selling her stuff is so inspirational 👏
I think she'll feel so good when she's downsized and in her new space.
I’m losing my mind because I’m at this estate sale right now!!! It feels like an honor to be the same place you were 😂
I just left Samantha!!! Small world!
Katie was like a model having a ball trying on all those clothes ... her joy was translated through the screen ...she was so obviously giddy over her items
She is so much fun!
Please no offense, but I loved the fact that she asked the lady permission to touch her bags. As someone who works in antiquities, one must always ask permission and also gloves are a must… especially when working with older pieces and hides. Oil and bacteria from hands can be a huge problem. Lovely lady and nice haul, I thoroughly enjoyed every moment!!
The peacock feather Whiting & Davis bag is STUNNING!
This was the funnest estate sale vlog I’ve ever watched! I’d have such a hard time parting with those items… karen did well. Best of luck with your sales, Lori!
Thank you Cristea! It was a lot of fun for me too!
This woman is my kind of woman.... My mother and aunt had a very large wardrobe. They worked in offices and I tell you, my mother also wasn't one to run from color and patterns and watching her get dressed daily for her job influenced my style for the office today as well.
Lumpy is so Adorable ❤
What a fun estate sale trip! Amazing collections and the homeowner is a doll! Mr Lumpy sure is growing. He’s adorable!
I totally lived through the Peter Max era. He was very famous. Every item from that estate sale was beyond fantastic. Wow, Wow, Wow!!!
It was the most amazing treasure hunt! Thanks for coming along!
How exciting to see the Birkins in person! I've never seen one, either!
It was so much fun Ann!
OMG THAT MUFF AND HAT!!! Not only would this woman be a great mentor, but I would love to see her collection:) I'm drooling and this would have been my dream to have this opportunity!
Wow! So fun! The owner sure paid a pretty penny for all that stuff to begin with. Must be hard to sort it out and decide what to part with. This was some sale!
I love how special this haul was as you got to meet the owner and know about the products, and what her events were that she wore them or had the products.
I noticed that she survived cancer. Also, she said that when her husband died, " I spent his life savings on things for me." Grief. Interesting lady!
The death of her husband reminded her that she was not immortal.
this was such a fascinating haul! she is someone that clearly loves fashion...what a story to tell through her clothing! i always hope to come across an estate sale like this! incredible!
Peter Max was a very well known successful artist starting in the 60's. Mostly did paintings and prints.
Omg! I love to still wear Slips in 2024, it’s like ladies don’t wear slips anymore 😮everything was beautiful ❤❤
Oh my, instant addiction! 😊
Wow, Aladdin’s cave. What a treasure trove of amazing, high quality items. I’m so proud the homeowner is passing them on and starting a new chapter in her life.
I absolutely LOVE the Betsey Johnson shoes! What a lovely woman, and what an amazing opportunity to source.❤
She was well loved by her husband, you can hear it in her voice. That is priceless.
Thank you so much for sharing. It’s so good to know that she was dealing with kind caring respectful people to take over her treasures
Must be nice to have the money to buy all of those clothes, shoes, handbags, etc...❤❤❤ beautiful home and everything she has in it! ❤❤❤
Omg😮
lori most collector plates are NOT worth reselling unfortunately The only exception I found was the Villeroy and boch russian fairytale plates and even those maybe 50 dollars at the most so you would not want to spend more then a couple of dollar. I have a few collector plates because I loved the image but I will never reccop what i paid for them after fees and packing supplies so afte I am gone they will probably end up at athrift and then a landfil
What a lovely and charming woman...the old saying is true, we spend the first half of our life collecting and the second half giving/selling it all away....
Haha “we married brothers..” that’s how in-laws work! Such a lovely lady you bought from l, and such amazing finds! Congratulations. Love your channel!
Thank you!
One of the best estate sale hauls ever!! Congrats!
Thank you Amber! I felt really lucky to have that opportunity!
What a fascinating woman with an incredible collection!! I was in awe perusing her things with you!I love that Karen kept her mom's old slips and her husband's baby shoes and christening gown. Love the black wrap top you got for yourself. I would wear it with the vintage art deco opal and diamond pin/pendant my dad gave my mom for their 25th anniversary in 1971. Just started watching your channel yesterday and am thoroughly enjoying it!! ❤to Lumpy🐕🐾🐾‼️
Peter Max was super popular in the 80's maybe even the 70's. Sort of like Andy Worhol.
Hi Lori - I had just stumble upon your video and was so mesmerized with all the bags, clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc.. Karen seems like a wonderful lady and fantastic shopper too! I love to hear background stories on all her pieces. Your sil Katey seems so happy and giddy shopping. Thank you for sharing your visit, I really like how detailed you were when talking about the items you bought. You have made me a subscriber and I look forward to watching all your adventures.
Oh yes agree... and I think I would've been like her SIL... A kid in a grand candy store 😄.
We had Peter Max bed sheets growing up! He's so awesome! Fun haul and video but I'm a little overwhelmed by it all just watching, lol.
So cool!! I was a little overwhelmed too!
Why do I hear Peter Walsh in the background saying ...."Too much stuff"... lmao
That was lots of fun, Lori! Thanks for sharing. And poor Lumpy, not at all spoiled😂😅.
i just want to play dress up in her house! Amazing!
Right! She had so many treasures!
piper was adorable... i really appreciated how you took the time to know the story behind the sale, i'm always curious about estate sales. her and her husband sounded like a happy couple
I need a John in my life! Bless his heavenly heart ❤
I felt like I was at the sale with you 😊 it's amazing how well you did!!!!!
Totally wowed! I love that you find and take advantage of these opportunities!!! Love it!! ❤❤
Holy cow Lori! That was overwhelming, lol But I totally get how you had to pick and choose what you were excited about. Thanks for sharing! ❤
Love the weaced handbags
Absolutely beautiful things you got from this sale. 👗👛👜
Great luck to you Lori. Im sure you will do great. I had a good job and made good money, clearly not as much as this lady, but I can't imagine being such a rabid consumer. I just don't understand why any one person would want to amass so much stuff.
Karen was a collector for sure. She was doing a good job figuring out what still brought her joy and letting go of the rest.
OMG, I'd have needed a truck to haul all the pieces I would have bought from Karen! As you were going through the house, I was saying "I want that, and that, and that..." Such gorgeous vintage clothing and accessories! I have no place to wear them but love reselling it.
It was incredible, right! I used enormous restraint Linda!! I still want to go back for more!!
Wow! This collection is amazing!!!!! I loved watching this so much! Thank you for sharing!
So much fun!
You and Katie are the perfect pair!! So fun! Loved this video!
Thank you Melinda! Katey and I had a great time!!
It's great to see you laughing and smiling again! You've been through so much this year-your resilience is amazing! LOVE your content (and Lumpy)! Thanks!❤
WOW! Glad you found something for yourself!
What an incredible experience, So many incredible finds , I don't sell alot of vintage but I absolutely love it and all its history and to be able to get the history of a piece like that baby outfit OMG amazing
What an adventure 😊😊 the Gucci and MK bags are fabulous 🔥
What an amazing estate sale! And, Lumpy sure has grown!
Thank you Sharon. He's getting so big! :(
Amazing items! The lady was lovely too! You picked great pieces!
She was a Rainbow Girl... If you look on her jewelry wall, you see her "service bars/pot of gold/wreath." Community service/service projects is a huge part of the lives of a Rainbow Sister. I am jealous but she is worthy of ALL her blessing.
In Rainbow Love and Service, Jennifer Past Grand Hope. ⚓🌈
Amazing! I would feel guilty collecting all that, but it sure was fun to watch. I’m glad she’s moving things on…
Karen can be my mentor! 😅 If only I were in Boston. Love that she is a collector (me too!)
Awesome I would have loved to walk into a room full of hats and hat boxes. Such an interesting haul.
I have that Gucci bag. I love estate sales also. Great haul
So much fun, Lumpy, Karen, SIL, Peter Max. It would be fun to keep up with her estate sale or return again just to learn, it's like a fashion museum. Thank you for such a fun video
I just found your channel and loved this video so much! Karen is incredible and I’m grateful that she was willing to share her story. Also Lumpy is THE CUTEST little pupper! He is precious.
Hi Abbey! Welcome! I am so grateful that I had this opportunity. Karen was so kind to Katey and I! I'm hoping to go back for another viewing soon!
She seems lovely, what a blessed opportunity. Thanks for sharing with us!
I'm so sad that this lady was having to part with most of her treasures. That must be so difficult. Cool collection of items. I can’t even begin to imagine being able to afford any of it. She was a very lucky lady, until she wasn't. I hope she beats her cancer! 🥺💖
This was so much fun to watch. So many interesting pieces and stories behind them. Thanks for sharing!
So glad you had fun! Thanks for watching! xo
I’m so glad I came across your video. What an incredible opportunity to be at this sale. I wanted to say that I bought the same Franco Sarto I bought around 1986-87. You found some amazing things. I’m excited to follow you from now on😊
That was so fun. Thank you.
Thank you for watching! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! xo
So fun to look through and learn about all of these wonderful treats ❤
Love the video and Karen seems like a hoot to chat with. And I’m sure you and your sister-in-law have a blast! Thanks for amazing videos.
Karen was a hoot!! She has such a big heart! Katey and I always have fun together!
Wow. What an interesting lady. I would just love to hear her stories. Thank you for sharing her with us. ❤
She was so kind and open with us.
Such a great find!!!!!❤
What a Beautiful Day!! Thank for sharing!
Wow! Karen has great taste! Such amazing stuff! Thanks for sharing! Any young woman would be lucky to have her as a mentor. I am not in business, just work in a hospital, but I bet she has good advice to give anyone. I am trying to declutter after living in my house 25 years (moving across the state for work) and I think it's difficult, so I cannot imagine trying to do what Karen is doing. I have no doubt she will find good homes for her precious items.
Hi Virginia. She truly had amazing pieces and wonderful stories to go with them! I have a hard time letting go of things too! She's doing a great job, taking things day by day. Thanks for watching!
Wow.... So much beauty and history inside that home. I don't think I could have shopped to resell. I would probably have found so many treasures I couldn't bear to part with if I was able to purchase them. Just absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you for watching! It was an experience I'll never forget. Hoping to go back again soon.
He’s getting so big! I learned a lot in this video. A few designers I have never heard of. Thanks
This story rings true on many levels. Thanks 4 sharing!
WOW! Just WOW! Karen's collection was nothing less than a WOW! Lori, you are killing me with the vintage Hong Kong purses!!! I personally have been collecting vintage purses for years and the beaded one is gorgeous!! sidenote! I usually wash my husband's white shirts with armpit stains with blue dawn and oxygen peroxide and it works like a charm! maybe that would work for the slips! Also, the timeless dress would be lovely dyed in black!
Oh my that would truly be a dream come true for me to have an opportunity of not only being able to purchase items, but just experience seeing, touching them!!! Only bad thing is I would be shopping for myself and not for resell... These are some of my fave videos so yes keep em coming. Lumpy is so darn cute... I would als be able to listen to Karen's stories ALL day long...
