When the Sustainiac is activated, it captures the signal from the bridge pickup, amplifies it, and directs it towards the driver instead of a speaker. The driver, positioned near the strings, creates an electromagnetic (EM) field that induces vibrations in the strings, causing them to sustain indefinitely. Unlike a standard guitar pickup that detects string vibrations, the Sustainiac enhances the vibrations by injecting additional energy into the strings. It’s feels like a motor running vibrating the strings.
I have had the FRS version for a couple of years now and it is simply amazing. It just does everything well and stays in tune better than any of my other guitars.

I’m torn between this and the non HT S version.I play mostly rock/metal and i see you can just turn off the Sustainiac when you don’t want to use it so i’m maybe swaying towards the HT S SLS🤔
Awesome video johnathan! And great playing too! Been always enjoying for videos😉😉I’m looking for a guitar that could cover up some high gain tone next to my ibanez azs which i use for clean/ambient tines. I’ve seen both your videos on the svss exotic and sls elite. I was leaning more towards the svss exotic model but figured the tone was a bit too chunky and outdated despite all its modern features (perhaps the kind of sound one would get from a les paul) and would narrow down the range of music to classic rock. The sls elite on the other hand seems to be more modern/metal-y while equally having all the decent specs as the svss. A svss exotic still seems like a good daily driver with a classic/friendly look. Would like to know your opinion on the two guitars. Thank you in advance!!
Hi Jonathan. 1st off, you are my favorite guitarist to listen to. You are so gifted. I love Schecter. Do you think you could review the Schecter pt sls elite? Thank you
Hey Jon, thanks for the demo! I've got my eye on this guitar and it seems awesome. When you say it's versatile, do you mean because of the sustainiac or in general? I know it's a metal machine, but does it do a great clean and crunch as well?
Hi Jon , great demo . I continue to wait for this guitar to become available. Do you have any video showing how you get your amazing tone ? Thx as always 🙏
Hey Jon - Awesome intro! That guitar has some great features, and the pickups appear to have a pretty good range also. That being said - 'The Evil Twin' with the gothic look - Nahhh, I would much prefer your 'atomic orange' Nick Johnston with a VegaTrem ! lol
I wish they made a 7 string with a sustainiac with the hipshot hardtail but I'm planning on getting the 7 string evil twin with 2 Fishman fluence humbuckers
Schecter realy know how to spec a great guitar. I have a C1 FR-S in Black Cherry, and it is a superb guitar. The satin black finish on this one will be a nightmare to keep as new. Hopefully they might make some with a gloss finish. The sustainiac is fun to play with until the novelty wears off. The necks on Schecter guitars suit my small hands realy well as do Ibanez. Thanks for showing us this one Jonathan. 🙂
Holy Cow! Look at that thing! Beautiful axe, you've got there Jonathan. And as always, you made it sing out. Wonderful playing, tone and phrasing. You are one heck of a musician. Rock on, my Friend!
Hi Jon, I stumbled across this video by chance. All I can say is your video makes me want to buy a guitar and learn to play. I doubt that I will ever do this as I am just too old to learn how to play, let alone play well. With that said, you are an inspiration. The sustain sound and your style of playing are absolutely fantastic! Thanks for your efforts. Your mannerisms remind me so much of Steve Guttenberg the Audiophiliac. He has an audiophile page that I frequent. A typo in my search led me to this video. Thanks again, sir!
Thank you! I hope you have subscribed to the Channel.. and if you did.. welcome to the channel! You’re never too old to pick up the guitar and play. I have a really good old friend who started playing the guitar at the age of 60. He’s like 72 now and plays all the Hank Marvin stuff beautifully✌️❤️
I can't believe a guitar exists with the sustainiac and without the floyd rose; like I have a guitar with a floyd on it and it's just a system that is nice but not something I particularly make use of in my playing but I love the sound I get from a sustainiac.
The big feature on this guitar is that it is one of very few Sustainiac guitars without a Floyd Rose, and I think it is the first model with a Sustainiac and Hipshot type bridge
That is just gorgeous, I love the carve on that body and the multitude of different tones makes it extremely versatile, I hope they do it in different colours as that may need a name change also, trans white with gold hardware (Golden Angel) and I would buy one in a heartbeat as I don't lean to the dark side LOL you can get this in an 8 string!
Great video. I own the PT SLS Elite (Tele body, same specs as this minus the Sustaniac) and it is absolutely one of the nicest guitars I have ever played. It has great tone, great versatility, and the neck is nothing short of amazing. I don't play Metal...but this guitar is wonderful for so much more than just heavy distorted sounds. It is not a cheap instrument; but it is certainly a bargain for the combination of features and quality. To anyone reading these comments, I highly recommend checking out the SLS Elite series. A sleeper dream guitar for sure!
I am looking for a hardtail version of this guitar. How do you find upper fret access on the PT model? I really like the look of the PT compared to the one he is demonstrating here.
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Is this an original composition or a jam track you've downloaded and are improvising over? Also i was wondering about the content on your Patreon page. Do you do lessons there?
OMG! That sound... perfection.. Just getting back to my guitar playing. Its been awhile and just let things og after my husband passed recently. Schecter by far is my fave to play. You have that guitar singing like no other. Thank you for sharing. :)
Wow, I don't usually go for the metal-looking guitars(I don't mind playing metal though). I can't stop being so impressed with Schecter. You already sold me on the PT Special, now I kinda want this one too 😆
Schecter is weird. They are well known, but nobody knows how good they are! Especially in todays crazy market, Schecter makes very well made, affordable guitars. The Schecter Demon 6 for example, is only a $400 guitar, but its AMAZING for the price! And the high end Schecters, HAVE STATS FOR DAYS!!!
Serious (and equally beautiful) bit of playing there!! Thanks, Jon. Thanks also for demoing some of the guitar's clean tones! These Fishman Fluences are really quite versatile!
