how to port and shim your b or d series oil pump

    The thing that really interrupts flow it the “t” passage right where the Allen head plug is. Last thing to do in order to make it all work properly is to smooth out that corner/T with some aluminum epoxy and turn it into an elbow. Also, port match the exit into the block.

      Well I will have to do that to the next one. bc unfortunately the pump I have on it is giving me low oil pressure took it off and the clearance was way to big on the pump gears. So not getting oil pressure. Got a new oem pimp on the way.

    There should be a small piston at the end of that spring.

      Thanks this is the first b series motor I have built. Didn't know that it should still be in there I will take it apart and make sure it's there. Thanks for the info. I've asked alot of questions.but it's hard to get people to answer them.

    Port yes, but send it to 4P. Shim, never. Not nessasary. You'll only increase cavitation.
