Project Turbo E30 - Z3 Steering Rack Conversion

In this episode, we retrofit a Z3 steering rack into the Project Turbo e30 with the help of the Garagistic Z3 Steering Rack Swap Kit, including spacers and Solid Aluminum Steering Flex Coupler Rag Joint.

Saw you gave up on the rack tab spacers... so did I. Ended up just getting some washer and making it work.

Oh no I used them, just had em on the wrong side and had to remove temporarily to put them on the correct side.

what did you end up cutting a bit confused by looking to do this on mine

I had to get the old rubber joint out. I’ve seen a few different ways to separate it. The angle grinder with a cutoff wheel was mine.

Hello what z3 model is recommended to use steering rack from?

I believe any of the 2.8/3.0 cars had the quickest ratio. Of 2.7 turns lock to lock.
